Martial Law was the golden age for the military & politicians. Instead of serving the people, it was the other way around.

the sentiment that then was a better time is exacerbated more when you personally or someone close to you was not a victim or touched in some negative way to put it so mildly. i think this is where my cousin born in 1976 comes from.

Not fake. It was in Rustan's Cebu Business Park.

Quite surprising Rustan is going for Leni. Rustan has always been associated with Imelda. Theor rise came at the height of ML. When pinoys weren’t even allowed to travel, Rustans were selling classy European goods.

Not contented with having Abella as decoy, they are adding Bato for assurance. And COMELEC are acting like zombies.

True. Discipline was paramount during the martial law years.
That may be the reason why some elderly prefer the Martial law year.
Talk to some very senior people in the provinces and that is what some will tell you.

Politicians during those times where kings of their own little kingdom.

Abella filed as independent, independent isn't allowed substitution according to Comelec.

I'm from Cebu and during martial law, Cebu formed a strong opposition (Pusyon Bisaya) that eventually toppled the Marcos political party (KBL). My family were glued to the radio during the EDSA revolution and we rejoiced around midnight when the Marcos family was finally airlifted to Hawaii along with their gold billions. So yes, not only in the capital that there was an active opposition party during ML.

If Abella will join the party then allowed pa din daw for substitution. Stupid talaga itong substitution policy.

They need to amend that rule. There must be a good reason to substitution, hindi lang pang place holder for other candidates.
