    I think it would be nice if someone arranged all the informative posts, both pro-device and re-active, so they can also see where we're coming from when we give a piece of de-bunking information. It would take a while, these threads are long.

    Auto_Xer... it's still the same old stuff nga... devices "developed" for carburated engines, but which won't work (or work well) for electronically controlled engines.

    Also note that the Super Trap requires its own proprietary muffler, while the EGO purports to do this WITHOUT a muffler change... the Super Trap is actually a tunable aftermarket muffler... the EGO is not... and the Super Trap does NOT claim to "catalyse" emissions.

    The EGO (exhaust gas oxidizer) has more spectacular claims than this..... which I find hard to swallow.........

    EGO is claimed to "oxidize unburnt hydrocarbons and CO". This is the same as claiming that the following reactions can occur at the tali pipe without the aid of catalysts:

    HC + O2 --> CO2 + H2O
    CO + 1/2 O2 --> CO2

    If this is true, then a Nobel Prize is in order....

    This will explain partially what it does.

    But that's not to say that it doesn't have it's own disadvantages.....

    Anyone have any information regarding the ECOTEK CB26P? It's said to be similar in operation to the Khaos Super Turbo Charger.

    IT IS IDENTICAL.

    they are just using a spring action valve to measure the vacuum to let air in.

    The Supertrapp's work best without a muffler on straight pipe exhaust systems.
    Damn loud. :D

    The link is just to show there's not much new in the world.
    The Supertrapp's being around since the 60's I believe.

    This is not to legitimize the claims of the EGO guys but rather to show that scavenging in that manner does work but with certain disadvantages which may not be acceptable to everyone.

    I used Supertrapp's for quite a while on my car.
    Tuneable powerband yes.
    Improved fuel economy yes IF YOU DROVE IT IN A CERTAIN MANNER & were willing to accept the tradeoffs.

    No power after a certain rpm if you tweaked it for low rpm power.
    This would mean shifting really early.
    Could get ~10km/l with driving & traffic conditions back then on a 1.6l efi engine.
    On a pretty much standard exhaust I can get the similar mileage by just adjusting my driving habits no MAGIC FUEL SAVING DEVICE needed. :P
    From as low as 4.5-5km/l to 9km/l by simply changing the way I drove my car.

    Am I making a point?
    Driving habits, next to traffic conditions & state of tune of engine & general vehicle condition have the biggest effect on fuel economy.
    Drive smartly, keep your car well maintained & you can already start increasing your fuel economy without buying any MAGIC FUEL SAVING DEVICES. lol

    Think I could do the same thing with a silencer equipped Tanabe? Or is still loud as hell with all the discs on?

    aerogas is much different from khaos. in fact some people who had their car installed of the aerogas, nagpapapalit ng khaos.

    Vitarich Inc. one of the biggest feeds supplier here in the phils had their fleets (they have like 1000 cars. 700 owned by their employees 400 company cars) installed of khaos. As well as UNILAB

    We've talked about those issues before... please read the thread. We're not interested in ressurecting dead threads or hearing about who supposedly has khaos. We are interested in testing results and solid facts. So far, these have mostly been negative.

    unless you are the owner of vitarich or unilab, I could only say that your statement is just more "testimotials (in the tradition of as-seen-on-tv).

    and even if all those car were installed with khaos, it still doesn't prove anything except someone got scammed.

    i just finished reading the article... sorry for the spoiler but i just have to share some quotes from Planas...

    "For 30 yrs nobody even bothered about this device. Alam mo claim ko dito, napakabigat! This device is number one all over the world"

    "... Imagine, 120 yrs and they couldn't see what's wrong with it?" he was referring to the invention of the engine and the problem of pollution

    this is the kicker... when asked about CATs
    "Catalytic converter is bad for the engine..."

    the best "Crankcase" yet from Top Gear!

    Got something in my email:
    ===================

    Subject: RE: Khaos Super Gas Saver device
    Date: Tue, 2 Nov 2004 09:47:09 +0800

    Dear Mr. XXXXXXXXXXX,

    Thank you for your mail to let us know the situation of our report was used.

    Regarding your question relating to the product of Khaos Super Gas Saver, Inventionhaus International Corp. did sent their product to be tested in our laboratory eight months ago. But it was just tested under the condition of after installation (not the comparison test before and after installation). So, actually in our test report it just has the emission testing data. We didn?ft give them any comments relating its anti-pollution effect.

    Because Inventionhaus International Corp. paid the test; we dont have the right to release the test results.

    If you want to know the details, maybe you can ask Inventionhaus International Corp. to prove it.

    =========================
    From the Khaos brochure

    Automotive Research and Testing Center (ARTC) of Taiwan show that Khaos can actually bring carbon monoxide levels down to zero.

    =========================
    My comments:

    So if ARTC said they only tested the device "as-is" how could Mr Planas claim it can lower emissions levels? There is no "before & after" testing done.

    So much for rigorous testing. :freak:
