Lahat naman ng kotse ganyan. IMO. Brake hose is exposed. Rubber is there to provide flexibility for the suspension movement.
I wish it was that easy to switch to steel braided lines. If anyone here knows where to source please send me a PM stock rubber hoses are such because they cost cheaper down at the production line. They are fine for daily driving but when you go for high speed braking, they do flex a lot resulting in decreased braking performance that you will feel as you frequent the brake pedal.

Steel braided lines do not flex which means that the flow of brake fluid is constant at any speed.

Fabrication of a steel 'cover' against the elements (like your dog) is a more economical way of saving the hose. Pwede ba kaya yung parang aluminum, corrugated hose line na ginagamit sa electrical connections? Maybe that will slide-in snugly.

    Yung ganito:

Braided lines aren't really that expensive. There are a few places in Manila that can make custom braided stainless for you. I sourced mine at Speedlab, but they also had it done at an outside supplier.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I called Citimotors Makati last Friday and I was told that the replacements parts ordered from Japan will arrived this week. Hopefully, before x-mas i could drive my Monty again. The last time I was at the casa, t'was two weeks ago, I was told that they have at least ten flooded monty units under repair. It's good that my unit is AOG covered

Steel braided rubber brake hoses are usually aftermarket. since the montero and strada has the same brakes, Baka pwede gamitin ung pang-strada. Sa thailand daming parts for strada.

Good news guys! Just got a text from my dad. Insurance is replacing our Flooded monty with a brand new unit. Might get lucky and be upgraded to a GLS SE

GLS kasi ung dati. di naman kami papayag na 2.5 gls ang ipalit. lugi kami diba.

di ko lang alam anu gagawin nila dun sa luma naming montero. Hmmmm..

The Monterosport is built in Thailand and all the parts are sourced from Thailand; including engine, ecu, radiator, aircon and even the wheels all are made in Thailand. Why would the dealer say the replacements would come from Japan? Since the Monterosport is not a JDM-vehicle unlike the 09 Pajero or the Lancer Evo-X.

The cruel conspiracy is that they just might hold your unit off for the time being until they could justify that it needs to be written-off so they could get more money out of you by getting another montero from them with your insurance write-off.

I heard this is what happened to flooded BMW units they were completely written-off and the owners are forced to get new cars from them since BMW parts are really hard to come by and have prices which would be worth more than the actual car. You can actually see the flooded BMW units at their warehouse in Bicutan inside the KIA-Motors Compound.

I know that the Monty is built in Thailand. But Citimitors told me that the parts were made and sourced from Japan. It could be true and perhaps the employee who told me could also be wrong. Well, if its not true , its alright as long as I can get my Monty back soon.

My unit's insurer is in-house and all costs of replacement was approved without any problem, that's why Citimotors proceeded to order the items. So, I think that "write-off" thing will not happen and Mitsubishi will not allow that.

sad to hear the latest experienced that you're getting from your monty .mine is one of the oldest in the club and i am so proud of it,never have any problem so far...
just cant figure it out where the kerosene smell is coming from .,so,i just assumed that maybe recently you got your monty rust proofed or the aircon is always set to outside air ,sucking all the unwanted smell emitted from the other car.
hope to hear some update regarding this issue.TIA

    cheers
Hi there. No rust proof. Aircon is always internal circulating moded (lighted yelow).
The technician in Mitsu said they did some adjustment under the dashboard. Am testing the effect right now.
ah i just realized that maybe the aircon from the rear!! because i was using the rear aircon regularly lately. maybe i need to check that.

It maybe built in Thailand, but some electronic parts like ECU's, ABS CU, etc. are still made in japan.

Guys how true is the MMC plan na papalitan na ang 3.2 (4m41) engine ng 2.5 (4D56HP) sa GLS SE? The new 2.5 liters engine will make an output of 178 horsepower and 400 nM of torque. Sa Australia ay ganun na nga ang nangyari, wherein the 3.2 (4M41) engine was jettisoned and was replaced by the 2.5 (4D56 High Powered) with VGT. Which makes the Montero (Challenger sa Australia) the most powerful body in a frame SUV. Kailan kaya darating to sa 'Pinas? Sana sa 2010 na, start saving na po tayo kung ganon.

I don't think that our local Mitsu will downgrade the SEs engine since it is one of the features why it is a Special Edition in the first place.

Now as for the Challenger, it is practically the same unit that was launched in Moscow last year which is now known here as the Ukraine variant/edition. The difference is that in Russia they had the extra option of a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine and they didn't carry the VGT equipped engine.

I also find it quite interesting that the speculation of the 2010 variant features items that can be easily added-on to the current variant like the color keyed rear cladding, lcd from an SE, power seats from the SE, etc which is the same banana for me actually, give or take a few minor items.

But as for a full model change? XTO is right, we're miles away from that.

    just my :twocents:
