Why do some Mitsubishi Dealers hoard units for their own advantage?

In our case we have a reservation at Citimotors, Alabang for a 2.5 4X2 GLS, the SA promised that our unit can be released in 2 weeks time.
We really need the montero as soon as possible since we were only left with one car for our family. Our SA suggested for us to choose 3 or more colors and avoiding Pyrenese Black and Savanna white in order to shorten the waiting time.

It has been 4 weeks now:arghhh:, we already went for red, blue, grey and the horrible green color for our montero but still no unit for us!
Our dishonest SA said that all the colors we have chosen had earlier reservations so we were not allowed to acquire any of the units that arrived.
The most irritating news of all is that there is an available Red 2.5 4X2 GLS but they would only release the car if purchased through their In-house financing. We were gonna pay cold-hard cash for that unit but they still insist that we get it through the financing plan.

The SA is really persistent but I think its their dirty scheme to get more money out of us... Please help us, on what can we do? We really need the car ASAP our big family can't live on a sedan alone.

Yeah sir, some dealers and their SAs are currently riding on the Montero Sport hype in sales.

I was frankly told by an SA at Citimotors Las Pinas that "it's how things work around here..". She told me that they do prioritize their financed reservations over the cash acquisitions since the casa (and them as well) gets bigger profits via this scheme.

Ironically, a 2nd female SA from the same casa called me up and explained otherwise. She said that "hindi po sir, we release the units as they arrive so depende na po sa pila for what variant and color." Now at that point my hopes were revived, in fact, she was able to convince me to make the mandatory P5,000 'reservation deposit'.

I have to admit that she was a far more better SA than the first since she updated me daily but weeks dragged on and still no Monty in any of the 3 color choices I wanted was in sight.

    Bottom-line: Financing still rules.

One day they will get their karma I tell you.

I had the same wait/SA B*S* experience and I was on financing. I got my unit when I literally said I'm done waiting and will cancel my order to just get the Fortuner (I was really going to). They had the unit available the next day.

ow. so that's the purpose of that red asterisk to wake up neighbors. great.

how about the other botton that, the one that looks like a trunk? what's does that do?

and guys what's the range of your key to your car to activate the alarm? nagtataka lang kasi ako kasi yung sa kin parang 50 ft lang ang range.. is there any way to adjust it??

sir freeman, consider yourself lucky if your remote still works to lock/unlock at a distance of 50 feet away from your car . I think mine is only effective within a 15 ft radius. And sometimes it even doest work at close range when I am behind the car . probably because it's using FM frequency?

Hi sir, i think you're talking about the trunk release button... that doesn't work on our units, unless you installed a mechanical device that will make it work..this "mechanical device" was discussed during the early pages of the thread, i think around page 100 something i think sir gixxer and kapitan dukot (not really sure if i got the names right) were pondering if they will try it..

50 feet?!!! wow!!! in my case, it depends on which location i am (i.e basement, open space, surrounded by buildings, etc)

i think so. that was discussed early on in the thread.

I was hit by a speeding motorcycle last week. Actually i hit it but i was like running 5 kmh from a full stop in an intersection. From the blind side ang bilis nung motor and i was able to stop pero bumangga na siya dun sa front plate number ko saka right side front bumper.

had it fixed and sprayed and polished again. P4k din damage including the new plate number cover na nabasag. Ingat sa mga motor, talagang now I notice kahit saan sumusulpot!

freeman789 - Prez Mic is right, that button with the open-trunk icon is non-functional. When fitted with trunk only open system it is supposed deactivate the alarm when the trunk door/lid is opened but will maintain alarm activation on the remaining passenger doors.

The stock remote actually has very short range that's why some spend extra on a new system to get more functions and improved 'distance-from-car' activation.

Juan591 - Brushed aluminum finish! One of the cleanest I've seen not too flashy but still very much sporty. The usual Toyo or Nitto will feel right at home . I like the way the spokes touches the rim lip. Radical! How about the weight? Ok lang ba?

RevD - sorry about your mishap
