here's my 2 cents sir on car colors....

had a gray metallic car, white car, and now a black monty. with gray metallic, i noticed that the metallic finish hides the swirls much better than the plain finishes. with white, you should be on the lookout for "libag" or stains that develop when you hardly wash the car with car soap, much more when you dont have it detailed regularly. i had a problem with the stains on those hard to reach places especially in the engine bay and in the area where the door hinges are located. but white hides the dust and dirt easily! light scratches are somehow camouflaged. black is the hardest to maintain! swirl marks, scratches, dust and dirt can easily be noticed. but with regular detailing and with constant care that the car wont get scratched or nipped, black is the most gratifying color...as it gives this deeeeeep luster making you wanna dive in! haha

i agree with sir mda. the monty's cool silver is the best bet for owners who arent into detailing or have no time to wash the car that often. the sedonna red does look nice sir! best if you go to a shop for regular detailing to maintain its deep luster. i think it even has a metallic finish so it will most probably hide the swirl marks better than the plain pyrenese black color. if i may suggest too, checkout the claysoil beige color! it may look plain in paper but you'll be surprised how great it looks on the monty....di ba sir jasapix?

HTH sir and congrats in advance for choosing a monty!

correct jed! :2thumbsup: that's why i only wash my monty when EB comes haha. my cali duster glides only thru its front/rear shield and side glasses. the body dusts?? i just leave them to those following me :bwahaha:.

seriously, swirls and dust can be easily concealed on those metallic ones compared to straight colors like black. silver can also be turned into beige or gold

JJGF, yup Jasper and Jasapix is one.

Mga sirs, finally planning to get a monty since my civic conked out already this week. I am leaning towards the 4x4 MT. Just wondering if any of you guys have the MT and how's its performance? Judging from backreading the thread, majority of you are in AT. Any MTs out there?

    TIA

I have a 2.5L 4x4 with Manual Transmission. The engine is powerful enough upwards of 2000 RPM but don't expect car-like performance. I notice that I need to downshift a lot because the engine judders easily.

The 4x4 mechanism is top-notch. I once parked in a muddy field and it later rained heavily, turning the field into a muddy quagmire. The 4x4 managed to pull us out easily with no problems at all

Sirs, just went to Mitsubishi UN last night to check out the Monty. The updated price list already includes prices of the Montero 2010 model which is more expensive by 20k on all variants. New features included 'daw' are HiD and GPS. Unfortunately, he didn't know the exact release date yet. Any idea if these are true and when will these models be available?

sir wrek, try to visit your manual ,page 3-10 instruments and controls, DIESEL preheat indicator lamp...This indicator lamp illuminates when the ignition switch is placed in the ON position. As the GLOW PLUG becomes hot,the LAMP goes out and the ENGINE can be started,, so what i do is run it slowly till the water temp gauge reach the mid/normal zone .,then its all yours..zooommmmm

    JUST observe the GLOW PLUG

    HTH

    cheers

    good day sir easyman3
sad to hear the latest experienced that you're getting from your monty .mine is one of the oldest in the club and i am so proud of it,never have any problem so far...
just cant figure it out where the kerosene smell is coming from .,so,i just assumed that maybe recently you got your monty rust proofed or the aircon is always set to outside air ,sucking all the unwanted smell emitted from the other car.
hope to hear some update regarding this issue.TIA

    cheers

i noticed that my MS is taking a bit long in starting the engine in the morning. i would not say it's hard starting but it's obviously longer than a normal 1 click start. I don't know if i somehow damaged the battery since i had instances before when i just used it once a week. What i know is that the stock battery of our monty is not the typical maintenance free that is available in the market. Do you guys think that the battery might need to be replenished with distilled water to operate much better? Need your advice here guys. Thanks a lot.
Sir in my experience with my Strada, the battery that comes in our unit is not "compatible" with our unit. Also had the same experience. Went to my dealer and had the battery checked. Then discovered that "low batt" ang nakainstall na battery. Demanded a maintenance free battery as a replacement since mas bagay ang tropicalized battery sa climate natin. So Im thankful that they changed the battery according to my request. Hope it helps!

WELL SAID SIR! actually Im still waiting for my Monty. Got an update from both DM Valle Verde and Marcos Highway that they dont have 09 model anymore. They are expecting the arrival of 2010 model in midweek of december. Which have a price increase of 20k. And Im willing to wait for the 2010 model. Asked them the difference between the 09 and 2010, until now they got no advice yet. Does anyone here got a "leakage" between the difference of the 09 and 2010 model? Thanks in advance!
