Yeah, JL and ID still seem to be the options until now. I have a choice between a JL 10W0v2 and an ID CTX104. Price-wise, the JL's around double of the ID. I agree that the JL will definitely sound better, but was also considering the ID since the enclosure's pretty expensive already.

kap! have you heard gixer's already? he upgraded his ID na...forgot what model. anyway, before the upgrade, i had the chance of listening intently to his first ID. with bass music, this sub could pound hard on the bass...loud and clear! with pop jazz music, it blended well with the midbass of the seps. compared to JL, i think JLs are "softer" on the low tones IMO. i guess thats why JLs are very popular with SQ setups. im no expert kap ha...just sharing my thoughts on both subs to help out in your decision-making.

now since you've invested a lot in the enclosure and want to cut down on your investment in the sub, id go for the ID sir! i, on the otherhand, invested on the sub and cut down on the enclosure....coz im more particular with how it sounds than how it looks. im not saying that sound is more important than looks ha....i mean both are important of course but if i were to sacrifice on the setup, it would be on the looks portion hehe. either way, you're bound to have a great setup!

you actually have a very valid point there, sir stubby. baka sayang lang yung setup if i've spent money on making it look very OEM, tapos ma-sacrifice sa tunog dahil na cut back sa budget... this was one of the reasons why i was looking for feedback on the ID subs as i haven't had any experience with them.

i already spoke to sir gixxer na rin via PM. he did mention he upgraded his sub na to an IDQ, tapos he gave me feedback on both models.

told him i'd think about my options for another day or two tapos i'll give mickey my feedback na.

like i said sir, wag kayo masyado mag-expect sa setup na gagawin ko. baka masyadong ma-raise ang expectations ninyo, eh i just want a clean-looking, clear-sounding system.

are you referring to the rear garnish? i just have it painted at my friend's shop last weekend. for the price? he said that it's up to me since it's pretty small only hehe. i'll be bringing her back this sat for the final check and polishing.

about the rear spoiler, yes it's from goldrich for 6.5K last mar or april???

the spoiler, tailgate garnish and rear bottom cladding adds gusto to the monty's machismo IMO! it adds more body to the rear of this soon-to-be suv of the year haha! booootylicious!

thanks NTYcE! my planned set-up is just to add some few garnish to have a cleaner look. Your car's is still our dream set-up and will remain as a dream only...

speaking of intellectual property rights...you should collect your royalty fee from a-toy since your tailgate garnish design is now being sold to many! congratulations! and perhaps you might want to contact MMPC and ask them if they can consider you to be part of their MS accessory planning team...so we, MS owners, may expect better accessory design in the future!

Yeah i was thinking about the royalties, but we really didn't know it would sell like this, crazy is the word. He made it up to me naman eh, he gave me a whole new kit for my wife's rav completely free. So i really can't complain.

As for MS.. HELL NO man! They won't give me my car to begin with and now they want my ideas? I remember during the transport show some of their higher uppers we're asking me stuff, i just told them straight.. 1st you straight up asked me for more money just to release my MS.. now you want to make money off of my ideas! go to HELL! hehehehe Then again, unless the offer is very very lucrative. then i'll swallow my words. i have bad experience dealing with sales agents. ang hirap kausap. i felt parang nangho-holdup taking advantage of those who are desperate to have a montero!

Been waiting for a 2x4 unit for sometime now and every day seemed a month! my other option is to go for the 4x4 SE! kahit beyond my expected budget. (i'll use sana the price difference for mods and upgrades).

Anyways, I know this has been asked before but i'm too lazy to back read with my very intermittent dsl connection. Is there a big difference in fuel consumption between the 2.5 and 3.2 engines? this will be my everyday car, city driving.

What's your FC for your montys? Once I get convinced, it's a Silver SE for me this week.

whoa. that's a bad sign. There are some car models na talagang nakawin ang side mirrors. I hope our monteros will NOT be seen as one by the pitik guys.

Don't buy nakaw na side mirrors. It will encourage the trade.

*mark, i don't think that will be covered by the insurance. if it is, mas malaki pa siguro participation mo sa gastos.

i suggest you ask your SA and hopefully he/she could help you with that. be careful guys, have your side mirrors etched since the guard is not yet available. i had mine done at BB.
