[QUOTE=fireice2;2855759]Diesel yan kaya maitim talaga oil. It simply means the oil is doing its job. [emoji5]=QUOTE]

yes sir, and for the best result of my break-in, we went tarlac then baguio for 3 days then manaoag the following day...as in travel galore even reaching 120km/hr max speed limit at sctex & nlex as stated in the manual...and the experience is quite satisfying as the montero easily breezed through uphil climb overtaking slow moving trucks as well as fast paced new vehicles like fortuner & everest or maybe mabagal lang konti hehehe

and for added observation when I check the dipstick before going down from baguio I noticed that the oil level is on the second hole meaning alanganin ako to proceed without adding half a liter of mineral oil good thing the same oil used by the casa for break-in...

upon PMS sched I was surprised to found out that we accumulated 1,802 km mileage hehehe but ok lang sa SA namin coz of provincial trip we made...no regret for our choice of vehicle...

I have a 2015 montero sports gls-v which is due for 35k PMS. Is it required to have it done in one of the mitsubishi service centers since it's still under 3-yr warranty or it's okay to do it elsewhere. Will it not void the warranty? Can you recommend trusted non-casa shops in rizal area (binangonan/angono/taytay/cainta/pasig)? Ang sabi kasi sa akin ng diamond motors mga P9K daw for 35k PMS. Appreciate your response.

If ok labg na mavoid warranty mo do it outside casa otherwise go with casa for the warranty.

in the olden days, when engines had iron and very little silicon, it was "acceptable" that the oil level in the dipstick would have gone from max to min, in the interval between oil changes, which was about 5K km, then.
nowadays, when i change oil every 5K km in my siliconized non-mitsubishi diesel, the oil level has hardly gone down at all.

How old and what is the mileage of your Monty? Its not normal to burn that much oil from top level to low level. It may signal engine wear or you are using a poor quality oil.

I brought my car (4d56 Montero) for oil change but was only able to bring 6 quarts of oil (Mobil 1 TDT - lost the loose bottle). Since my car requires 6.3 liters (6.7 quarts - 7 bottles) of oil, I figured that 6 bottles/quarts (5.68 liters) is not that far from the required 6.3 liters. My plan is to just top it up with 7th bottle at home.

A day after, I checked the dipstick but was surprised that oil level is literally at the middle of the minimum-maximum holes. I did not add more oil. Anybody experienced this?

I normally just add 6 liters and then monitor in case it goes down. Same with yours with the dipstick.
