Thanks. No plan to skip the 1km PMS (because of warranty), just the oil change. It makes sense to do it on 5km. Hindi kasi ganon sa ibang casa based on my experience, routine checks lang dapat 1km PMS.

Sir i just went to our local dealer here and ask about the PMS of montero.. are you using the fully synthetic oil? They told me if you use the fully synthentic oil then the next PMS ay sa 10K na.. tama po ba? And nag oa rough estimate ako sir sa heavy PMS nila and they told me ba around 13K ung mababayaran sa 20K na PMS.. tama po ba to? 😶
On the onset engine oil will most likely contain abrasive metal shavings due to tight clearances of a newly assembled engine
Its good maintenance practice to remove those metal shavings now suspended in your brand new cars engine as soon as possible

After doing some research on it the aircon compressor lubricant is not touched unless the compressor needs to be replaced
Just post a video on how to clean the aircon evaporator instead
Im wondering if the montero have 2 evaporators?

somewhat agree BUT too soon for 1km PMS. A newly built engine has undergone several oil changes before it roll off assembly lines and out of the plant.

PMS is still every 5km regardless of oil used. Either hindi na explain sayo mabuti o baka na misinterpret mo lang.
In short pag synthetic oil, "change oil" is every 10km BUT PMS is still every 5km. Yung 5k in between, may possibility na i-top up yung oil.
May nag raise na nito dati, pero banggitin ko ulit. Used to be that diesel engines follow 5k PMS intervals, but with better, cleaner engines and fuels it's about time na gawin na 10k just like gasoline.
Ginawa ko yun sa Kia Carens Crdi, that I recently sold, 10 years of trouble free ownership. That's what it says on the manual bakit gusto ng casa na mas madalas? Para saan pa yung user manual kung di susundin?
Not all manufacturers change oil prior to delivery to save on cost
Some manufacturers run their engine before being attached to the car body. In effect the engine is already broken in and changed oil prior to delivery. This method cost more with additional fuel burned during brake in and oil for the oil change. These extra costs is not absorbed by the manufacturer but is normally passed on to the consumer. The manufacturers that skip the 1k pms are the ones who adopt this method of manufacturing a vehicle
Now ask yourself if the montero is priced more than the competition or very much less

believe me, I know, all fluids are fresh when it rolled off the plant. let's just say it's all part of the manufacturing process. this is true for almost all the cars
^its fresh alright, but the metal shavings make it not good to keep

Newbie po sa thread mga sir... Ask ko lng po if merong taga Bacolod rito? Saan po alam nyong autoshop pulidong gumagawa ng Montero natin?
mga master tanong ko lang kung ano diprensya ng monty gtv ko kasi paakyat ako ng baguio running in 3rd gear sport mode/manual smoothly then bigla syang nag down to 2nd gear at umingay ang engine then pansin ko from 2000 rpm increase to 3000 rpm nya at bumagal na ang takbo ni monty, immediately nag park ako sa tabi stop the engine at re start ulit from sport mode/ manual nag matic naman ako, so running in matic smoothly at around 2000 rpm at after 5 to 7 minutes running bigla umingay ulit ang engine at pansin ko rpm is 3000 again at same bumagal ang takbo nya kya park ulit ako sa gilid stop the engine and re start again then back to sport mode/manual ayun nakarating din ng baguio city, any idea o tips what happen kay monty

just sharing...
1k PMS, 2017 GLS Std. :
- change oil / oil filter
- minor inspections as specified in the service booklet
Done at Citimotors Alabang, chose this because it's the closest to where I am.
I am not too happy that it took 5. 5+ hours (8am-1:30pm) to finish. Too early to tell if the not so good reviews are true.
reasonably priced at 5.2k though, 7.4 liters shell xp fully synthetic, oil filter is on the cheap side at 670 (I didn't check the brand).
Side note: this has been discussed to death in the past but I'd like to revive, that is... the idea of using mineral oil amd just change oil often every 5k on every PMS rather than synthetic and change every 10k only to top off every 5k and change filter anyway. Just as discussed, not only will it turn out cheaper, it arguably is the same (if not better) for the engine as oil is changed often... thoughts for the 4n15?
Better base oil quality, stability and protection from fully synthetic oils. Additives are also superior.
