Had my fist 1000 PMs done in Union Motors Otis. Total damage was P2390. 7 liters of mineral oil, oil filter was around 1 thou....
Boss i have my 1k PMS also at Otis Paco my question is you used mineral oil is this correct ?? mine is synthetic oil as SA told me its recommendedto used ...so Otis really have no correct PMS guidelines
![]()
They actually insisted to use the synthetic type. Recomemded daw.....Pero I insisted on the mineral oil....
I used mineral oil for my 1K ...
Synthetic Vs. Mineral Oil
The only basic difference between synthetic oil and mineral oil, apart from its manufacture and origin, is the molecular and particulate structure of both the lubricants. Synthetic oil being a perfected product, has a very even and uniform structuring of molecules and particulates. On the other hand, mineral oil contains uneven and less uniform molecules as compared to synthetic oil. Now, when the car, engine, piston and piston block is new, it is always advisable to use, mineral oil. The uneven molecular structure of mineral oil makes the uneven surfaces of the components and auto parts rub with each other and erode, thus making the surface even and smooth . This is very useful, as the young components of the engine get into shape and adapt to the mechanism. As the engine grows older, the components, get into shape and start running swiftly without any friction. This is where one should start using synthetic oil. This oil basically keeps the engine in shape and helps in increasing the durability of the engine.
Well, with oil you get what you pay for and it's what's not in the oil that matters as addative packs vary in quality too. Many oils are made to a budget because in many applications it does not matter, afterall "any oil is better than no oil".
any comments about using semi-synthetic oil on our montys? Had my 1000km oil change using mitsu mineral oil and planning to use semi-synthetics on the following 5000km pms.
So I decided to choose mineral oil para yung mga dumi nang metal maflush at 5k PMS.
Another question which is better:
Fully Synthetic Oil Change at every 10k
or
Mineral Oil change every 5k??
I'm thinking of every 5k with mineral..because i have a friend who does this with his fortuner(50k and running smoothly)...More frequent oil change is more cleaner right?
or maybe we could ask opinions from our strada brothers out there.
i am through with 15k pms on my monty, and since 1kpms i started using mitsus turbo xp fs,every 5k..its a PMS for me it doesnt matter if do it every 5k...as long as i have peace of mind that my ride will always be in good shape .. ..btw at carworld mitsu pampanga ,customers are allowed to check thier ride while the pms is on going.
cheers
I will get my monty by next week and plan to go to Baguio.
Done with my 5K PMS at Mitsubishi Balintawak (DCT Holdings Corp)
1L Turbo XP Fully Synthetic oil - Php450.00
MMC Oil filter - Php896.90
Care Care Kit - Php280.00
Rags (3 pcs) - Php. 15.00
Total Cost: Php1,641.90 :2thumbsup:
I had my Monty 1k PMS at Balintawak, total charge for the Fully Syn oil is 4,659. One thing i noticed though is that the Oil being used on its container was not sealed. Tinatabo na lang daw from a bigger container according to the technician. What you think mag Sir?
The customer should see that what he bought is really new, containers should be sealed and opened in front of you during the service.
By the way, did my first 1k service last week.
Consumed 7.4 liters of fully synthetic plus they put in a diesel fuel additive na 500ml.
Total P6,174.90
