May mga fake din kasi na Vic oil filters. Better stick to OEM na lang sir kahit medyo mahal. Meron thread dito about sa oil filters eh try ko hanapin may mga results dun ng different oil filter brands. Plano ko nga bumili online ng Royal Purple Oil filter para sa montero kaso di ko pa mahanap yung exact part number. Yung Montero kasi sa US V6 Gas engine according sa website ng royal purple so di ko sure kung yun din yung gamit sa pang diesel.
So pwede din ba sir na Semi Synth oil then Every 5,000 pms ang palit? Sa Balintawak ako na mitsu sa tabi ng Hyundai nag papa service eh. Nung 10k pms gamit nila full syn na Motul via Drum and nung 15k pms naman pinalitan din lahat ng oil to Turbo XP full syn na nasa drum din.

plano ko kasi every 5k pms, oil at oil filter change na...since hindi maganda ang VIC (btw ito gamit ko sa 01 prado ni erpats mag 80k na wala naman problem), so sa MS ko hanap ako ng epektibong filter....any suggestions mga sirs...maraming salamat.
every 5k pms ang expenses ko ay around 3k (semi-synthetic 7ltrs at oil filter lang to), so kung ikukumpara sa fully synthetic na oil change na tumataginting na 6.5K na every 10k ang pms nya MAS makakabuti sa makina na mag change oil ako ng every 5k and with the same expenses made by those people who opted for a 10k oil change.
according to mitsu technicians, mas makakabuti sa makina ang every 5k oil change dahil ang buhay ng diesel engines ay nasa oil.....kahit mag mineral, semi or fully synthetic walang problem for as long you want your engine to last for a long time do the 5k pms change.
Parang tumubog o naligo ka sa bath tub na may mamahalin liquid soap at sa isang regular liquid soap, pag ahon o pag tapos mo maligo dito ganun parin na madumi na ung tubig. Also, do you prefer na isang beses ka lang maligo sa isang araw o twice a day ang paliligo mo? IMHO, hindi praktikal mag fully synthetic and then opt for a 10k pms.
sa mga sirs ito lamang po ay aking experiences sa mga diesel engines na sasakyan namin.

Read mo yung engine oil bypass filtration thread ni dvldoc. Kahit semi-syn na lang tapos yung baldwin, fleetguard or wix, puwede na daw na 10k KMS or max of 6 mos ang change oil. Kaya yan ng mga magagadang oils. Pero siyempre, best if may first hand experience kaya yan din balak ko gawin. expirement for 1 time para sure. So far kasi Vic din lang nagagamit ko although dati Bosch.![]()

meron na pala updated SCV sa mga casa, para no worries na dito tapos yung OCC na lang and maybe adding 2T sa diesel fuel will help EGR not being clogged so early!![]()

Ah baka EGR nga sir ehehe nalito na ko may sinasabi din kasi siya sakin about sa SCV naman. Siguro kahit semi syn na lang at every 5k ang palit OK na.
i think the oil change is more of owner preference, like me, i went with mobil1 turbo diesel fully synthetic 5w40, but i know maximum i will go a year is 7000 to 9000kms, so i just budget the time, i either chage oil at 5,000kms or 6 to 7 months of use, because i really consider driving in manila as extreme conditions so even if it is fully synthetic , the oil will degrade faster, i just use fully synthetic because the engines runs smoother with this kind of oil. of course cost is a factor but i value the engine long term benefit on using fully synthetic.![]()

i agree with you sir kcboy. i intend to use fully synthetic when my ride reach 15k - 20k but for now its semi because of what i have read on mitsu engines or any diesel engines i suppose that to have a potential powerful engine in the long run, one must used mineral so as to get all the soots and imperfections of the engine in the so-called engine break-in period. well it's just me.
nearing my 1k change oil PMS, I have no idea, how much will I spend.
It would be a big help if some one posts their casa spending by P.M.S.
^ kung 2.5 engine nasa 6k siguro yan less pa labor dahil free ata sa 1k PMS
huwag mo na lang ipasama yung bodywash,engine wash dahil sobrang mahal at wala naman wenta sila maglinis
icheck mo mabuti yung list ng gagawin sa PMS mo para hindi lumaki ang bill
