    Hehe. Yup retrofitted both of them, binutas na yung blank cover. Meron naman mga available na extensions from cdr king and ace hardware, ang tricky lang is how you gonna mount them thru the blank cover.

    Question guys, what options puede undertake for a GTV na mausok. We called up our dealer and we were informed that it needs to undergo a reprogramming. Wala na ba ibang option puede aside from the reprogramming? Thanks

    KH4WG---- models are all euro 4s , so better use euro 4 and euro 5 diesel if you dont want a reprogram

    Yes sir just use euro 5 diesel. Seaoil offers euro 5, unioil euro 4. We have some friends here that underwent reprogramming and said they experienced lesser engine power. It makes sense as they will adjust your euro 4 engine to euro 2.

    Sir honestly hindi ko na-feel any loss in power after my gtv had the reprogram. I am not sure maybe before and after kasi of the reprogram eh installed ang common rail box ko

    Nearing my 1K PMS and I was already dead set on using Royal Purple oil for my MS after reading so many good reviews in tsikot.com, but when I visited the RP website their recommendation is to use their oil after 8-10K miles! Posted a query at the Royal Purple thread and speedyfix did replied that :

    "this is because diesel engines take a long time to break in. and using synthetic oil will cause it to take even longer. the best time to use synthetic oil is when the engine is fully broken in na. " ..... " you want the breakin to be done as fast as possible so that the engine becomes efficient sooner. mineral oil with quick successions of oil changes is the best thing when a diesel engine is new"

    So my questions ( I was not able to read it in the previous pages or I may have missed it) are:
    1. Whether the oil in our MS is synthetic or mineral when we brought it out of the dealership? (if its synthetic then I will just have to push with a synthetic)

    2. If the perceived "break in" period of the RP website for diesel engine is 8-10K miles presumably using mineral oil, does this hold true for the 4d56 or was the engine broken in prior to delivery to the dealership?

    3. Any recommended brands of mineral oil for our MS?

    My SA in casa (close friend) suggested that we continue with the mineral
    Oil until 5000kms. Then we put fully synthetic on my 5000kms. pms.
    Wanted to change sana to other brand, kaso ang hirap naman maghanap nung 15w50 fully syn na gamit ng mitsu, karamihan sa market is 5w40, ayaw ko naman magkaiba ng weight na ipapalit. Ayaw ko na din muna magflushing so continue lang ako sa fully syn nila nung nag 15000kms check up ako.

    Hi guys, first time i used unioil diesel (50ppm) this week and had a very bad experience. I've Been using Seaoil or Petron Diesel ever since and did not experience this poor performance of my MS today. My MS experience less power and too much smoke emission. I also notice that FC turned very low from regular usage.

    Does anyone fill-up diesel in MS at Unioil Multinational P'que? I saw many posting here that Unioil was better right after 1st fill-up. Maybe my experience is somewhat particular in this Unioil branch.

    I had my GTV reprogrammed a few months ago and switched to seaoil bioxceed diesel. The casa technician explained to me that the reprogramming has nothing to do with the euro rating. It has something to do with the exhaust valve opening settings when the aircon is turned on. There is no effect on engine performance or power. It really solves the smoke issue, I highly recommend it. It was sir pogy uy that mentioned that his unit experienced power loss after reprogramming but it turned out that his unit had some other issues which caused the power loss. If I remember it correctly, I think his monty had an EGR or SCV problem.

    Ah thanks spotdog, that's how I remember it. Mali yung assumption ko associating reprogramming to powerloss. So gtvguy, listen to them and don't mind me. Hahaha

    Does many MS owners experience this problem na mausok ngayong summer? From this post ni sir SPotdog is related sa effect ng AC turned on. This week my MS experience less power and mausok. The only new thing I did was change to Unioil diesel, and was also the first time na mabilad ng sobrang tagal sa arawan yung sasakyan.


    Sir Spotdog or anyone, Ano po kaya yung exact ginawa with the valve opening settings or EGR/SCV? Saan Service center po kaya ito nakita ang ganitong problem?

    Hi sir. I dont think the summer heat has anything to do with the performance of your monty. Most probably, your monty has a clogged egr which is caused by too much carbon deposits. This is a common problem with the monty. I recently had my 15k PMS and required na daw yung EGR cleaning every 15K even though I have no issue with my monty. It used to be every 20K kms but mitsu recently made it every 15k. Standard na po na after EGR cleaning, they do reprogramming also. Bring your car to the casa sir and they would know this.

    Using seaoil/unioil really helps in avoiding this problem since this fuel has lower sulfur content which is the cause of carbon deposits. Clear na man po kahit sa tailpipe finisher na it is a lot cleaner than using fuel from the big three. Smell of exhaust is a also a lot better. Baka naman po na timing lang na yung symptoms lumabas after you filled up with unioil or unless contaminated talaga yung fuel sa station na yan. Im from the province so seaoil ako for almost one year already, walang unioil dito kasi. Seaoil used to be euro 5 but recently became euro 3. Unioil is euro 4. The technician who cleaned my EGR was even impressed with my EGR since sabi nya, it has a lot less carbon deposits compared to other montys he has worked on. By the way, hataw mode once a week also helps a lot to get rid of the carbon deposits. First sprint lang yung may smoke, after that wala na for the rest of the week kahit full acceleration pa.

    i agree with this

    if i am not mistaken, someone over at MSCP posted a picture of his EGR using seaoil and it was clean. a picture of a clogged EGR was also posted and grabe grabe ang bara ng deposits

    that convinced me to use seaoil also

    Thanks guys for the replies. Will try the seaoil diesel for now and hope the smoke issue will be a thing of the past. Still a long way to go for the next PMS. At the present the GTV only got 7k and 3k more for the next PMS, roughly 2 more months.

    it takes about 2-3 top ups to completely clean the system of the previous fuel and get the full benefit of bioxceed

    dami infos thanks, yun din sabi sa service center ng mitsubishi sa alabang hanggang 10k daw breakin ang tagal naman na hangang 90 lang takbo ko hindi ko ata ma feel husto vgt hehe
