This is a very useful information... Thanks a lot sir...

Hi eccm, inquire ko lang if how reasonable is the price of the upgrade and if what was done on your unit. Winterpine (in amcar sta rosa, laguna) cannot install the avt subs with built in ampli in my unit due to some other items needed to install it that they still donot have, for almost two months now. Hope you can pm me on this. Thanks/

wow! 100kgs? what are the mats made of, gold? how much would it cost to deaden a whole monty? doesn't sound too practical for a daily driver.

Most deadeners are primarily composed of butyl. You wouldn't like asphalt since mangangamoy yan on a hot day (especially pag nasa Pinas ka pa). Madaming kinds, liquid deadeners, etc. but most of the deadeners you find in the market is of the butyl kind -- Dynamat, STP, Stinger Roadkill, etc. Technically speaking, these are called CLD (Constrained Layer Dampers) and traditionally used to control panel resonance (hence for car audio purposes sila normally). A cheaper but less effective alternative are those foam mats. Ito mga Acoustimats. They're roughly half the price of a STP Silver butyl lining.

That 100kg is an approximate weight added on to a fully deadened sedan using those butyl mats. And that's not even overkill. Some car audio purists even use mass loaded vinyls (MLVs) on their vehicles just to isolate noise. More mass = less noise penetration.. very simple science. It's like using a thick door versus a thin door in isolating your room from outside noise. How heavy are MLVs? They're like a substitute for lead one of the most dense elements in our Table of Elements.. Bwahaha..

If you're not planing on foray into car audio, just those foam mats from Acoustimats would suffice. These are often called OEM mats since pagbinaklas mo door mo, you'll probably see them slotted inside your doors.

Acoustimats is around 800php per sheet ata.. you could get them 500php kung may kilala ka though (trading section of different forums). Most doors need 2 layers/sheets to cover the "front and back". Personally, got no idea how much whole car deadening using them would cost.

EDIT: Is it practical for a daily driver? No.

I think Mickey's has a variety of seps to fit your budget, but remember you still have to add wirings, the cable for the avt hu to install the sub and of course the seps. decent wiring kits would go for 4k minimum. May mga generic at 2.5k

If the budget na 10k is only for the seps then you have a lot of choices like morel, focal, hertz, etc

Personally, I would recommend Banawe for budget meal setups since most of them offer free installation and stuff. Not to mention alot of the shops there offer "packages" if you're off to a fresh start. But if you're after quality work, Mickeys are really worth the buck. Yun leatherette na ginagamit nila is soft.. it's the expensive one daw according to Rocky (yun owner ng Mach2Audio just a few blocks away) na pagmay shipment, agawan mga dealers sa material.

For the seps, if you're budget is from 8,000-10,000php: I would recommend just two: Morel Tempo 6 and Focal's entry-level separates, 165A1 Access. But Mickeys have sort of "premium" pricing. Although you can haggle the price, masmababa parin sa Banawe (due to lots of competing shops). Problema with Banawe is that: pagwala ka alam, they would likely fool you.

I'd suggest Candyshop sa Banawe. Look for Nogs, super mabait yun. In fact, wala sa mukha niya ang pagiging "boss" umpisa akala ko employee lang nga siya eh

May I ask our more knowledgeable friends what video formats are playable in the GTV dvd player. I downloaded you tube files, converted them to MPEG4 avi but would not play. However, it plays dvd movies. Thanks in advance for any info.

Yes, strada is lighter by 195kgs than gtv. para kang may 3 passengers on board sa gtv compared to strada. Same tranny strada vgt/ gtv, 5 lang.

I have bought a camera from alibaba *56.7USD. Model was for grandis but they have the same size with the montero(mine is GLS-V). Doesn't have the chance to install though. Will ask the casa or wintepine if they can do the installation.

Which is better in terms of sound quality? DLS RM6, Focal Access or Morel Tempo? I know the RM6 retails for 12K but if the entry level focals and the Morel are better, I'd go for them.

First of all, I cannot stress this enough but sound preference is very subjective. Thus we cannot answer the question: "what's better?". All of them are good. Different sound signatures at the start though. If you have no experience in tuning, all of them are good for the money. If you're an experienced tuner, there are cheaper alternatives there that would sound better with the proper tuning versus Focal/DLS/Morel without tuning.

In any case, off-topic na tayo try to visit Kotseaudioclub (KAC) for more car audio related questions or the forum's sound board.

honestly, i have not tried playing any dvd movies using the dvd player. but if it is any help, i play movies directly from my usb

if you are using the usb, try not to covert this to mpeg4 avi. if the extension file is still ".avi", it will not play. just convert it to mp4 ipod/apple tv. the extension file should be ".mp4"

i do the same. i convert all video formats to mp4 ipod, copy it to my usb and i can play this on the screen already from the usb

Hi guys, can anyone with a white GTV share a photo of the carbon fiber rear spoiler? I have a white GLS-V and I'm thinking of adding the new carbon fiber spoiler. Do you think it will look good on a white body? I also found out from casa that this new spoiler is clip type, so no need to drill holes on the rear door. Thanks!
