can somebody explain what vgt and gvt etc. is all about?
what makes it special vs the current monty engine?
GT-V
Gran Turismo Veloce? (because faster version?)
Grand Touring Vehicle?
Geometry Turbo Version?
Anybody knows?
To future owners of Monty, could anyone confirm if you also get this same information from your dealers that MMPC will be releasing few units to dealers, and will be sold/released to buyers, prior to 2011 Montero's official launch on Feb18/19?
Hopefully, this is true so we can have our Monty earlier. Or is this just a marketing gimmick? Thanks
Sir Expatio, if you were to buy MS VGT would you go for a 4x4 or 4x2? thanks!

I wonder what is going on at MMPC.
No price yet, or even some photos of finished grill on the GT-V.
Are they having second thoughts on the badging issue, or are the badge suppliers having problems.
Maybe they think 'GT-V' will be a bit confusing when the 4x2 is 'GLS-vgt'.
May I suggest they call the 4x2 'GLS-vgt', and the 'SE', 'GT-vgt' (or simpily vg) as a temporary measure. Then after the whole range is vgt, drop it altogether and add a slight body modification.
Generally GT stands for Grand Tourer so it is in keeping with a top of the range car. It is just that the same two letters are contained in the 'vgt' acronym.
As for GLS; Mitsubishi have been using this for more than two decades. I wonder does it really mean Grand Luxury Sport. The 'L' used to mean light weight in cars of olde. This was stretched well past the limits when the Mercedes SL 'Sport Light' kept putting on weight till it became obese with the late eighties model and it's electric folding roof. Of course the 'L' in Mercedes with a preceding 'E' makes it a limousine; ie SEL.
I must be bored, but have to back to work right now.
It is all MMPC's fault for not putting that badge on the show car![]()
my agent here in Visayas said to wait until the last unit of 2010 model will be sold. what the!
