on the way to SIR, I reached 175 pero hindi yung ave ko. ang ganda kasi ng view para gawin 10 minute trip ang sctex. anyway, meron ako mga kilala (kasabay ko papunta) nag 220kph EX GT hindi pa sagad 6.5K rpm. Naiwan ako haha!

initial feedback niya, stable parin unfortunately malakas na talaga ang noise from the wind.

IMO, after 120kph, i think, anything faster will make your FC rise relatively.

mga sirs, wag ninyo na i attempt mag land speed record sa sctex. pag meron kayo nakita na partol na may radar, step on the brakes as hard as you can hanggang mag 120 kayo. kung hindi, babalikan ninyo ang license ninyo dun rin. hassle. either way going over the limit and stopping quickly is dangerous for you and others on the road and especially also your beloved car.

wind noise po kaya or tire noise, i asked my bro nag 160 siya sa 5yr old crv di naman daw maiingay.

Wind noise yan. Tire noise is not much in SCTEX. It would be nice to have a long runway to test top speed like the guys at 5th Gear show. Tama si mogmog, just be careful. It's the experience that makes the trip and not so much the destination. Enjoy the view unless you travel the same road daily.

yep it the sound of slicing through the air at high speed. kind of like opening the car windows when the car is running on the highway only this time, you can hear everything from inside. Anybody can tell the difference between tire noise and wind slamming to the car noise.

IMO, the crv has a different build quality compared to the lancer (both cabin noise suppression and also tire size thread patterns). we can't jump to conclusions with that. I am convinced that the new lancer has less noise suppression from the outside.

feedback lang naman ito sakin nung isang lancer ex owner nung nakarating na kami sa subic. i don't doubt the guy because he knows this stuff and he is also riding on wider wheels than stock-supposedly more road noise yet he notices the wind noise. Yun nga lang, I can't really argue that kasi wala naman ako personal experience hindi ko pinalampas ng 175 kabayo ko kasi trackday nun. dun ko nalang bibirahin imbis sa highway hehehe!

*mazzipino - Madami pagkukunan ng Evo X body kit. A-Toy, Starbright bodykits, and Boneout. I just don't know current prices.

*new-driver - makikisawsaw sa usapan. Pro for wider tires - grip, looks. Cons - price, lower mileage per liter. Trackday is when a group of people rent the track for the day to satisfy the urge to go as fast as you can in a controlled environment.

*mogmog - how many times did you try your EX at the track? post time naman please.

at chronic - sir akala ko alam mo na? haha *wink wink* actually ako ang kulelat among lancer ex. 1:07 medyo alalay kasi first time.

at new driver - i know 3 people who fitted 8.5 wide wheels for their ex. pros: it really looks good. sobrang pogi. i think yan na ang pinaka sagad na kaya ng lancer natin. 2 of them dropped with stech springs with no rubbing issue. one of them have 19"x8.5"
in my opinion, 19"x8.5" rims ay ang pinaka magandang proportion para sa car natin because of its size.

cons: as chronic said. plus mas mas mahirap ng konti ang steering. according to casa, pag nag change ka ng rims especially wider ones, void na warranty mo sa suspension and probably also the steering column.

siguro mas mabigat ang wider rims (depends) at mas malaking mass ang hahatakin ng engine mo.

sa trackday naman, hindi kami nag racing racing dun haha! oorasan ka lang nila per lap.

* mazzipino - boneout body kits. ive seen the work. experienced na ang staff niya. sabi samin philippine branch ito ng boneout sa States.

*new-driver - ok lang din and debadged. kung gusto niyo ibalik, try niyo kaya ang pinakamanipis na double sided tape. the waterproof type.

Mga Sir ano size ng mag wheels ng lancer ex MX? I'm going to change my stock mags with 18" but not sure what the size specially the offset. How about the tire size? mag fit kaya ang 50 series?

Ayos ang first PMS ng Lancer EX, walang kahit anong babayaran, not even oil.

Turns out that our Lancer EX has fully synthetic oil straight off the Japan factory, so it doesn't need any oil change for the first 1000 km PMS. Full inspection lang talaga ang gagawin, tapos in less than an hour tapos na.

ugh, di po ganito nangyari sakin, i paid a bill around 3500petot. Labor lang ang libre. Nag change oil na din po. I had it serviced at Diamond Marcos Highway, the difference could be that sa bacolod casa na purchase lancer ko and not here in metro manila.

Any other version guys?

We own a '97 Lancer GLXi and medyo pagpapahingahin na. We considered Lancer MX pero phased out na daw (very last unit got sold yesterday). Now, iniisip ko yung GLS, pero no ABS and EBD. Matic sana ang kukunin namin pero next na option na is GT-A * Php1.375M.

*Php938K, medyo olats ata sa GLS. Any other opinion?

Citimotors. Hindi na kailangan change oil for first 1000km, dahil nga daw fully synthetic na agad ito galing ng factory. Bakit nila pinalitan oil ng EX mo, yan ang nakakapagtaka. Kahit dun sa Service Manual ng EX (the one that came with the thick owner's manual), walang nakalagay na kailangan change oil agad. Check that manual for the service schedule required, mukhang mali diskarte ng Diamond, ang sinusunod nilang schedule ay yung pang-non-EX na Lancer (yung Thailand assembled).

So official na nga na phased out? I was thinking that it was just the dealer's way to talk me into buying the MX... so now that I think about it, buti na lang nakakuha pa ako ng MX last month, upgraded pa with DVD, touchscreen LCD at subwoofer, for 300K less than a GT-A.

Mahal kasi for me ang GT-A, tapos ang GLS na next option down was less than 100K difference, but the MX had much more features. I agree with you that the 938K for the GLS vs. 990K for MX makes the GLS an unattractive option, but if you look at it from another perspective... the price for GLS looks just fair now considering na 1.375M na ngayon ang GT-A, which is now the only step up for automatic (CVT).

They never increased the price of the MX, but that was because there was no GLS to fill that all important 900K-1M price range. Ngayong meron nang GLS, bakit kaya hindi na lang nila increase yung MX price kung kailangan (medyo lugi na daw Mitsu sa MX, sabi ng dealer, ewan kung totoo), instead of phasing it out. Sa price hike to 1.1M, for example, it can well compete still with a Civic 2.0L.

Pero eto lang masasabi ko... pamahal ng pamahal ang Lancer EX... dahil kaya Japan CBU? IMO, this makes the Lancer EX less of an attractive alternative to the competing Civic (price-wise lang ha).

actually galing ako ng diamond service center sa may q ave yesterday and i paid 3800+ yata. i thought too it was free pero may bayad pala. akala ko service is free sa first 1000km.
