sir ganun din po sabi sakin sa union motors sa paco, nakahiwalay daw ung mga nabaha sa mga nagpapa PMS. kaasar nga lang talaga sa paco kasi d pwede panoorin habang ginagawa. nasanay kasi ako sa toyota manila bay na pinapanuod ko habang ginagawa. sir by the way may itatanong ako uli, sir sa cvt ng ex, ano mas matipid gamitin, naka manual mode or matic?

compare niyo na lang kung alin ang mas matipid by driving the same route; once in automatic mode, and the next in "manual" mode. then check your mileage. of course, this isn't a fool-proof way to determine fuel efficiency considering there are other factors involved but given the way we drive individually, we can get a very rough idea as to which mode is better for each of us.

Just leave it at matic mode, then keep ur RPMs low, max is 2k RPM.
If u want manual mode, same din, keep ur RPMs low, pero at manual mode, careful at 1st gear and 2nd gear, both 'gears' are tall. So, at stop, after 4 secs, shift to 2nd gear, then 3rd gear.

Tipid mode na yan. Don't expect that you'll go fast though. Haha!

He has a point but what do you guys think?

I agree with gwapster too. PMS should only take 2 to 3 hours. Kung kukunan ng piyesa ang car mo, then they won't be able to release your car to you - making it obvious that something fishy is going on.

hmm i've never driven a matic before.. always went w/ manuals.. w/ manual rin kasi i can really save on gas by "gliding", going neutral whenever possible.. like heading towards traffic, or a stop light or if i've built up enough speed, a "glide" hehe.

also to add to that im a clutch driver .. again to save gas etc.. kakapaogd yes pero sanay na it's automatic na for me hehe.

sa matic, meron bang mga similar sa ganitong driving style? or everybody just drives the same na w/ matics?

pasingit rin.. selling XFACTOR AUTO FOLDING MIRRORS from singapore.. for our LANCER 2008s.. 1set left * 13990

sino may gusto pM lang. tenks

    sir, if you notice,
you dont consume fuel if you "glide" without shifting to neutral.
i've read somewhere na cut off ang fuel pag nakabitaw ang foot sa gas pedal.

free wheeling is dangerous. not to mention you consume fuel.

I agree with mogmog. The gas pedal controls the flow of gas. AFAIK, if you don't step on it, then the engine is just using enough to keep itself running. Going neutral just disengages the gears. I don't know if this results in significant fuel savings but it does disengage your engine braking so it can be dangerous. Also, you can also shift to neutral to glide using 'matic.

Final point: The EX does not use a 'matic transmission, but a CVT. It is supposed to ensure that you are using the most efficient gear ratios at all times, giving better fuel consumption than an AT transmission. I know that MT usually uses less fuel than AT but I don't know how it compares to CVT.

I noticed that I get slightly better fuel efficiency when using Drive mode instead of the Sport (paddle-shift) mode. But it's probably due to my shifting pattern (I sometimes tend to stay on 2nd gear a bit longer than I should) than anything else.

Since you get more control over the "gears" in Sport mode, there is a chance for you to get better efficiency than relying on the computer (Drive mode)... BUT then you lose the "continuously variable" ratios (vs. fixed ratios in Sport mode), so now it all depends on your driving talent.

Pero so far, lahat ng natanong ko, mas maganda FE nila kapag Drive mode. Yun nga lang, yung "fun factor" of using the paddle shifters is priceless. :D

i read somewhere (most probably car and driver) na when coasting to a stop its better to leave your car in gear rather than going into neutral. tama yung previous post na when sensors detect a vacuum or negative pressure from the intake plenum along with several other factors the injectors are shut off meaning no fuel is sent to the combustion chamber as opposed to when in neutral there is a certain amount of fuel used for idling. on a safety standpoint best talaga to leave it in gear when coasting. sa ibang cars talagang di mo pwede i-shift into N yung matic when moving kasi kailangan nka step sa preno whenever going into or from Neutral to drive or vice versa. not sure kung ganito din sa current lancer CVT

read from somewhere ang A/T is still more efficient than CVT in terms of less power loss from the flywheel to the wheels but CVTs spend more of their time at Higher ratios (numerically lower) thus making them more efficient in operation than the conventional A/Ts.
