Well, I'm a former SA * Diamond Motor (just resigned recently). Yung last meeting ko nai-announce yung month of release (this May nga) pati estimated prices nun.

As for the new Lancer, nag sneak-tease preview na sila last year sa WTC, itim yung nandun. Tingin ko naman meron uli sila this coming auto show, yun Evo X sana meron narin i-preview!

    Here are the estimated prices:

    Lancer 2.0 GSR CVT : P 1,145,000
    2.0 EX GT M/T : P 1,045,000
    2.0 MX CVT: P 995,000

Puro 2L lang muna ilalabas, then hoping sundan na ng 1.8L.

I think the standard Evo X should start under P3M when its launched here officially.
The Evo X is only a bit more expensive than the Evo IX.
The top Evo IX MR was officially sold here for P2.86M while the lower spec RS was priced at P2.448M

Will the 2008 be available other engines besides the 2.0L? I saw on the US site that it has an EPA rating of 22/29 with the CVT, so hopefully we can get the more frugal 1.8L.

The EVO GSR, understandably makes only 16/22 but then with a car this good, fuel economy becomes a second priority.

oh...why is the Evo X GSR priced at Php2.4 million? That's almost $60,000 given the current exchange rates, while the one sold in the US is at $33,000, you can buy an BMW M3 Coupe with that kind of money. IMHO, even with our archaic (and senseless) taxes, they shouldnt be selling it at twice the price....

hopefully ma-launch na ang '08 Lancer dyan...its been a long wait

Mitsu is mounting a comeback here in the US primarily because of the Outlander, the '08 lancer and recently the EVO X

here in upstate NY, Lancers have been selling rather well
the top sellers among the Jap cars remain to be the Mazda 3 & Honda Civic

my wife leased an '08 GTS and were very happy with the car, BUT it does have its flaws

its safety features is top notch..abs & airbags galore
the styling of the car is among, if not, the best among the competing midsize sedans available
the equipment & options it comes along with is equally very impressive
while the car's handling and high speed stability is...well, imho way better than the Mazda 3s & Civic's, and does justice to the car's fiesty exterior

however, the plastics on the door panels & parts of the dash is , as unanimously noted, wanting

the fuel economy is decent, city driving yields 19-21 mpg (mala Sta Rosa Laguna yung area namin) while the highway driving yields 24-27 mpg
weve noticed that the numbers are prettier if you keep the rev at the 2000 mark thereabouts

weve also noted that that the engine is loud when cold, but silences to normal levels after the engine has warmed up
conversely, it seems that the engine picks up better when your drive it after it has warmed up

BUT as pointed out, off the line, the Lancer is no sprinter...our friends Mazda 3 feels light and nimble off the bat and easily leaves the Lancer
the stock 4B11 out of the factory wasnt designed with enough low end torque to make it feel as sporty as it looks
however, once rolling it is not one thats easily left behind...once the rev hits 3000 the climb to 120 mph is steady & sustained (the fastest that ive gone though is 90 mph for a few secs)
its not a quick car, BUT its certainly fast...AND well planted to the road even at high speeds, unlike its contempories
you should take this car on a long drive, push it hard and realize the advantage of having that stiffer chasis, extra weight, sports-tuned suspension and all that jazz

the entry of aftermarket engine mods should soon solve the wanting low end pick up that everyone is complaining about

as to the interior...well we filipinos are creative, very creative

all in all, i think its the best lancer yet

    Mga Bosing,

Tahimik po yata itong thread, nag hihitay siguro lahat sa launching ng new Lancer, ano kayang mas maganda, new Lancer or Honda Civic FD. I sold my 1.8S CIVIC FD last January, dahil palagi akong nasa abroad, pero my wife wanted to try this new Lancer, maganda kaya ito compare to the new Honda Civic?

I can sense that the new Lancer will be available before the month of June... nakita ko sa newspaper yung ad ng Mitsubishi featuring the Lancer and 4x2 Outlander na coming soon daw. Pero i think yung 4x2 na Outlander is available now na ata? Hehe!

Sana dumating ka na! Para makapagtest drive na ako! WEEEEEE!

I believe that this is still the CEDIA- the current 1.6 GLX and GLS with minor upgrades. haiz!

guys, kung inip na kayo, go for the Outlander 4x2 instead and treat it like a Lancer Station Wagon! Its already on sale!

    Yup, it's economical too!

Btw, I saw 5th Gear compared the New Lancer with the Mazda 6. Of course, the Mazda will win. It's just UNFAIR!
