Baka naman may anti-virus or some kind of antidote..
Pero kung wala, I think I'll just run away somewhere safe.

    Dawn of the Dead zombies?

I'd stock up on gasoline and other fuels... lots of alcohol and kerosene. Make some makeshift flamethrowers and convert weed whackers into long-reach saws. Regular guns are useless... but we may just stock up on shotguns and shotgun ammunition.

We're reasonably secure from zombies... behind two iron gates on the first floor... but this will depend on how strong they are and how many. If there are too many, they could possibly climb over each other and onto our third floor balcony.

Like GH says, nobody has specified how long these hyper-zombies can last. Their ability to move quickly must burn up lots of the remaining sugar and calories in their bodies, so if they have nothing to eat for a few days, they may rot away or die (again).

The big problem is that this kind of zombie is posited as a viral outbreak, whcih means that we'll need to keep isolated in an airtight chamber until the outbreak is over. I don't know how long the virus can survive outside of living (or undead) tissue... so that's a big problem.

If the virus spreads easily, and turns any dead person into a zombie, whether they've been bitten or not, then we'd all have to start wearing deadman's collars... collars equipped with explosives that'll blow our heads off if our heart stops.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

"Dawn of the Dead" zombie type can only re-animate the recently dead because it is a pathogen based zombie. Those which have been dead a while will not have enough living tissue (nerves, muscles) to re-animate.

From the movie, the pathogen is in the body fluids, main source is the mouth since that is the usual way it attacks humans. Of course, if you have an open wound that lets zombie blood/fluid into your body, chances are, you will be a zombie in a few hours/days as well.

One thing that isn't mentioned is how much zombie fluid is needed to infect a healthy human. Would a single drop be enough? Or does it need to be a "typical" zombie bite size to be effective? Would zombie blood dropped into the eyes of a healthy human be enough to infect?

But those aren't really "zombies" in the classical sense of a zombie (aka re-animated undead).

28 Days Later is a virus that infects humans causing loss of self control, resulting in violence and a particular preference to barf up blood. So technically the infected ones in "28 Days Later" are "alive".

Best gun to use against zombies is the shotgun. You don't have to aim it as much which would be important if you are running for your life. Downside, a typical shotgun would only have less than a dozen shells so it doesn't have as much combat endurance as compared to a machine gun or machine pistol.

Pistols tend to be best used by experienced shooters because you need to hit the zombie's head to have an effective kill. Hitting the body and limbs generally have no effect on the zombie. Advantage of pistols is you can have a lot with you to minimize the problem of reloading in the middle of a zombie attack.

Flamethrowers should be used with caution. Zombies are not directly affected by flame. A regular zombie running at you will become a flaming zombie running at you if you hit it with a flamethrower. It's effects is more long term, barbequeing the zombie flesh en-mass. Best used when trying to reduce an increasing population of zombies from a secured location.

Chainsaws and converted weedwhackers have their use but I find it limiting and problematic if you are dealing with more than a handful of zombies. Takes a bit of time for a chainsaw to finish off a zombie (aka cutting off the head). Also the general close proximity of the "kill" makes this weapon not for the squeamish.
