I'd stock up on gasoline and other fuels... lots of alcohol and kerosene. Make some makeshift flamethrowers and convert weed whackers into long-reach saws. Regular guns are useless... but we may just stock up on shotguns and shotgun ammunition.

We're reasonably secure from zombies... behind two iron gates on the first floor... but this will depend on how strong they are and how many. If there are too many, they could possibly climb over each other and onto our third floor balcony.

Best gun to use against zombies is the shotgun. You don't have to aim it as much which would be important if you are running for your life. Downside, a typical shotgun would only have less than a dozen shells so it doesn't have as much combat endurance as compared to a machine gun or machine pistol.

Pistols tend to be best used by experienced shooters because you need to hit the zombie's head to have an effective kill. Hitting the body and limbs generally have no effect on the zombie. Advantage of pistols is you can have a lot with you to minimize the problem of reloading in the middle of a zombie attack.

Flamethrowers should be used with caution. Zombies are not directly affected by flame. A regular zombie running at you will become a flaming zombie running at you if you hit it with a flamethrower. It's effects is more long term, barbequeing the zombie flesh en-mass. Best used when trying to reduce an increasing population of zombies from a secured location.

Chainsaws and converted weedwhackers have their use but I find it limiting and problematic if you are dealing with more than a handful of zombies. Takes a bit of time for a chainsaw to finish off a zombie (aka cutting off the head). Also the general close proximity of the "kill" makes this weapon not for the squeamish.

28 Days Later is a virus that infects humans causing loss of self control, resulting in violence and a particular preference to barf up blood. So technically the infected ones in "28 Days Later" are "alive".
Much like "I Am Legend"... only in that movie, infected humans also gain superhuman strength and speed.

Combat shotguns with the extended drum magazine can carry 20-25 shots. Good for groups of zombies.

Exactly my thoughts. Since zombies tend to clump up in small areas while trying to get through portals and are not affected by pain, you can cause a chain reaction of burning zombies with a simple flamethrower and a few pesticide sprayers filled with kerosene.

Lop off hands and attack the mouth. Remove their primary means of attack.

Many Philippine buildings are suited for zombie defense, with barred windows and grilled entrance gates... but you have to choose a building with good workmanship, as the weight of multiple zombies may be enough to pull the grilles out of the wall.

An SM Hypermart would make an excellent fort. You can close the steel shutters over all the entrances, get supplies from the supermarket... batteries, generators and weapons from ACE... and radios and cooking appliances from the appliance center. Hole up with the guards, who'll have enough shotgun ammo to hold off a few zombies while you get the shutters closed. Use fuel from cars in the parking lot (usually underground) for the generators.

You can make bombs from the mini-LPG cassettes and aerosol cans they sell at ACE... and maybe fuel molotov cocktails with paint thinner.

Best of all... Hypermarts are everywhere... and one is bound to be close enough for you to run to once the zombie apocalypse has started (assuming your house is not suitably hardened).

in a post apocalyptic scenario, the only gun you'll ever need is an AK-47 with tiger hollow tip ammo :D
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?

The Central Bank is a good location. Me? I'm thinking an island would be nice. Can zombies swim without being devoured piecemeal by fish?

    - I'll choose place na nasa tuktok ng bundok para makita ko mga nasa ibaba at mga zombies na aakyat
    - Lots of planted bombs surrounded the area and booby traps
    -

    Escape plan:
syempre ZIPLINE, since nasa tuktok tau ng bundok pababa sa patag heheheh.. And a GTR as my escape Car covered with barbwire
Problem there is the expense and availability of ammunition.

Like I said before, and echoed here:

Of course, I have a soft spot in my heart for this as the final line of gun defense:

A Smith and Wesson X-Frame .50 caliber revolver.

The bullets are expensive (50 pesos a piece... :hysterical: ), but this gun is available at several malls... and if you're in the middle of a Zombie Apocalypse, it shouldn't be hard to smash your way into a deserted mall to steal a month's supply of ammunition (unlike the .50 caliber military rifles, the bullets are for sale to civilians).

It's a handgun that has the kick and stopping power of a big hunting rifle, and it's reasonably accurate with its long barrel, so you can snipe with one if you can scrounge up a scope attachment.
