And this is why I do not go over 100 with my Altis. My palms would start to sweat once I Never happens when I use my AE101. I'm still not convinced though that the car was the issue.

Some have upgraded for wider tires, does this really helps on the stability issue?

While on the skyway, the Fortuner's gas pedal / accelerator got stuck or the engine itself surged making the SUV speed-up, she tries to stop her SUV before she comes to the end of the Skyway which is the off-ramp back to SLEX. Most likely she burned out her brakes, with no other way to stop she could've pulled her E-brake as a result the Fortuner swerves and rolls over.

My friend from Thailand who works as a Toyota Service Tech, told me the ECU of the 2.7 VVT-i engine of the Fortuner is also the same with the Camry engine being recalled in the US.. but since Toyota keeps saying it just a sticky gas pedal the true causes of sudden acceleration problem might be a corporate secret...
She can shift it to neutral. Has anyone hear of those sticky pedals tales after the recall? What happened to the runaway Prius after Toyota exposed it as a hoax?

Parang medyo impossible yung ECU ng 2.7 VVT-i ay pareho sa 2.4 VVT-i na Camry. 4 speed automatic vs 5 speed automatic yung transmission. You mean you can directly swap the ECUs?

Napakaclear ng Skyway, anybody can speed up.

But, it really depends on the driver. If the lady swerves to the left/right immediately and without slowing down then the fortuner would be really fishtailing.

That's why I wouldn't go over 130kph on a tall SUV like that, because one wrong move and you're dead.
Kahit anong kotse pag mabilis at biglang nag swerve sideways malaki possibility mag rollover. Lalo na sa SUV na matangkad. Kung pumutok gulong the car will swerve sideways and flip.

Plus paano kung nasa speed limit and this happens? Accident happens even to the best of us (remember the experienced and pro driver who died in White Plains? another tragedy).

    Drive safely people.

sometimes multiple rollovers or flips are good in a car crash, provided if your passenger shell remains intact. it dissipates energy over a longer period of time. the main danger is a sudden stop (remember dale earnhardt 2001?) since energy doesn't have time to dissapate longer.
