It may or may not be offered. The most common reason by manufacturers is the poor diesel quality (Euro2) of the Philippines relative to bigger markets like Europe (Euro4/5). AFAIK, only Unioil sells Euro4 diesel in the Philippines. Only Hyundai/Kia have released a diesel crossover /small SUV, Tuscon and Sportage respectively, in the Philippines, which I surmise was de-tuned(?) or rigorously tested locally prior to release.

Other manufacturers may not find the market large enough to justify releasing a diesel locally -- But this is just my personal speculation.

How come most of these compact crossovers don't carry diesel variant?

Convenient coz if you're paying nga for amortization, you don't have to worry na magsasabay sila ng PMS mo. Been drooling over a white CX-5 pero kung darating dito yung 4x4 na nandun sa article sa isang page parang ok din yun :D

After 3 years daw tska lalabas mga sakit.

Congrats! First low FC car model of Mazda. I hope they bring Sky Active to more models.

Wonder why it's not in the 2013 CX9.

11.4L/100km on gauge and 8.6 on manual reading, purely city driving, light-moderate and sometimes heavy traffic.

Mas matipid pa rin ang mga ilokano at mga intsik pag gumamit ng SUV!
Dipende kasi yan sa driving habit, most SUV today can make an average of 10-13kpl, & 7-10kpl under traffic. So, not to wonder whatever engine you have as long as it is a cylinder SUV.

hi everyone! i am also thinking of getting a cx-5 AT. i spent a day looking at various options. i short listed by options to three. cx-5, cr-v 2.0 S and new forester. however, i am still confused which to get. the crv's interior is definitely superior because leather is everywhere. i also like how the forester looks. my worry is in spite crv and forester claim their recent models are more fuel efficient, i heard not to good news about their fuel efficiency. besides the new forester will only be officially launched this friday. i am particularly entires with the cx-5 because of the yojin 3 which is a value for money there.

I saw in the that there are discounts? my sales agent for the cx-5 did not offer me a discount from the listed price.

    thanks for all the help!
