Suspension & steering PNs have remained the same from pre to Facelift. The frame weld gaps that caused clicking in early '14s were indeed corrected. Spring protectors added on the '16 up, too.

It's on mild drop Eibach springs & Koni struts. Rides & drives way better than stock.

    Noises & vibrations.
Bad tranny mounts can cause engine vibrations at various rev ranges & clunk under load.
A faulty rack will have noises & steering play on bumps, rough patches. Often, it can have similar symptoms as bad end links, bushes, rod ends, strut mounts & ball joints. It's not a known common fault on 3s, but lemons do get mixed in bushels of oranges sometimes.[emoji4]

Have your belt tensioner checked. The damper might be leaking. Minor issue. Part is sub$100 online

Is there rattling sound even when revving the engine at standstill? Or it only happens when accelerating?

I found myself looking back again with these nice set of wheels for references on rim size options that will provide a more comfortable ride and peace of mind when driving on pothole infested roads. My plan is to have my stock R18 rims replaced with something that is more suited for bad road conditions.

Sir Travs, judging from the looks of the tire side walls from the pics, it seems that these are size 50 or 55 and not 45. What do you think?

What if I go for the R16 rim size and with 205/55 set of tires? Is this the same OEM size for the M3 1.5L variant?

Those are 245/45/17s, jojo sir. They give 13.5mm higher sidewall than your stock 215/45/18s while pretty much retaining stock outer tire diameter.
Going 245/50/16 will yield you 25.75mm more sidewall than stock.
Comfort isn't all by the sidewall alone. Different tire brands & models vary in sidewall stiffness. Wheel/Tire combo weight affects suspension & steering dynamics, too. The lighter, the more forgiving.
The 3's fitment options have long been toyed with. Have no doubts...no guinea-ing needed now.[emoji4]
Please share us your desires, sir.....Your call, of course, to either include or spare us the kinky ones.[emoji16]

My primary option for the tire is Michelin Pilot Sport 4, most likely just the R16 size, then shop around for a Rota rim. The R16 size for this tire brand model is limited to 205/50 and 205/55 only.

The R17 like those from the pics you shared appeals to me more but I'm concerned with those thin side walls. Pot holes are so unforgiving here around Metro Manila especially when traveling south to Bicol. I think the R16 will give be a safer choice. What do you think sir?

As I've shared you, those 17s(110.25mm sidewall) pic'd have 13.5mm taller sidewall than the 18s(96.75mm) you have.
205/55/16 is 19mm smaller in outer diameter vs. stock 18s. Negligible, but you'll be 9.5mm closer to the ground & speedo may run a bit off.

i just replicated the sound during our testdrive. and they came up with the solution.

at first, the rattling happens when i accelerate hard uphill..very hard to replicate. waited couple of months and the sound became more noticeable even without inclination..thats when i decided to bring it in again.

I'm hoping these Skyactive M3s are more durable than the earlier models...
    2 years this month sir.
