Via Surigao? If you see a grey first-gen CX-5 blasting down the highway say hi to my dad (or most probably my mom) for me

Check your spare's tire pressure ;)

    Ingat and have fun!

I went to Bicol last 2017 Dec with the 1st gen Mazda3 with stock R15 wheels and Yokohama Aspec 205 / 65 tires. Andaya highway was severely infested with deep holes, I was unfortunate to hit a few deep potholes along the way. So far no obvious damage with the tires. Perhaps because the tires are new, just barely a year old.

It was already dark when I drove along Andaya highway. Got stuck with severe standstill traffic at Gumaca Quezon (it was Christmas day). It's probably the worst driving experience I had, drove more than 20 hours non stop. The 10yo car didn't break down fortunately, we arrived safely at Polangui.

Are you planning to take the new Quezon Ecotourism road? There's a forum thread here at tsikot about that road. Might be worth checking it out.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, the car I have came stock with 19s...

I was considering to replace it with 18s but I changed my mind right away when our moderator, *jut703, said that it might not look good.

The solution I have is to drive slower. It might be an impossible feat for the rest of you.

And I was about to say 17" might look good! Thank you, *jut703 for the insight regarding rim size.

And thank you for confirming it through this video.

Could not agree more, the family name the highway was named after speaks for itself (rant). Ten years driving but most of the time just riding a bus back and forth from Manila to Sorsogon, still full of potholes, dangerous if you have low profile tyres.

I'm musing to switching to thicker tire side walls (at least 60) if I'm every going to drive my M3 going to Bicol next year. Perhaps a R15 Rota Grid Racing wheel (Grid Racing – Rotawheels
The Tesla Model 3 performance uses the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires.

I've never had clearance problems w/ ferries. Note that the ramp angles vary w/ tide. Check the tide calendar on loading scheds when in doubt. For FastCat, low tide loading will strip your low car rub fears away.[emoji4]

The official Apple CarPlay and Android Auto update are now available at local Mazda dealerships.

Confirmed by Mazda Philippines, the kit can be installed on all Mazda vehicles equipped with the Mazda Connect system (this means pretty much all models from 2014 upward). The kit, which is now being rolled out at all authorized Mazda dealerships will cost P 17,500 plus VAT inclusive of installation charges.

The Apple CarPlay and Android Auto kit comes with both hardware and software upgrades including a pair of more powerful fast-charging 2.1-amp USB ports. The install will require about two hours to install. Since stocks are limited, Mazda Philippines suggests to get in touch with your nearest dealership to check availability and to set an appointment for installation.

How old is your M3? Such issue is something I would expect for a car that's more than 5 years old. Our 1st gen M3 only got some suspension issues after 10 years (and the roads here at Quezon City Novaliches area really bad!)

I'm hoping these Skyactive M3s are more durable than the earlier models...

    I do hope so!

After a year I'm beginning to hear this faint squeaking sound from the front left area. The squeaking sound only happens whenever the car turns left and goes through a ramp. Usually it happens after an hour drive. My 18th month PMS is due this month so I'm planning to have it checked.

seems like a known issue for the gen1 skyactiv platform.

    reliability went up from 2018..
