Sales figures & relative values sometimes don't make sense. I recall the mid90's when the gen2 Pajeros outsold the pricier LC80s here. We know which was better of the 2.

What's the big idea of changing the font?!?
I can't imagine the same on Mazda 6! If I may use a kind word for it, it looks ridiculous.
Pajeros were also cheaper than LCs then, as they are now. There were no cheaper midsize SUV options, so the Pajero and Patrol were basically the entry level choices (no, the Terrano doesn't count). It does look more amateur than the fonts of previous Mazda 3s. In my world, fonts make a very big difference in presentation and aesthetics.

You are very kind for using that term, amateur. It really looks cheap, particularly that SKYACTIV sticker.
I didn't get what those guys were saying on this forum until I have seen it.
If I wasn't aware of the previous design, then perhaps I won't notice it. Anyways, removing the badge is the solution for it.
Of course, I won't be buying one so this isn't an issue for me.

I recall those days. The gen2 Pajero wasn't only cheaper, it had features never before seen on any of the locally distributed utes. SuperSelect shift-on-fly 4x4. Everything was fresh except the engine. Mitsubishi gave Ph the 4D56, instead of the 4M40.
The 80 was the old basic truck...manual diff lock, nothing new. The headunit was a doubleDIN w/ a cassette player. Again, basic, classic or typical Toyota.
The Safari was a cruiser copy, a much fuglier toad version, though.
All that, one laughed at the P400k or so difference between the LC & the Pajero. This was the 90s before the crash when our currency held midtwennies to the greenback. 400k was a significant amount.
Still, last laugh came from the small LC crowd....Reliability sold cars & held value. The ute market was initially drawn & blinded by both price/feature diff....slow to appreciate the 80's soul & real value. Those who missed out went for the 100s. Them new 100s did not draw 80 owners. Both had the same engine, the 100 ditched the rigid front axle, which everyone loved, for a beefed up Torsion. (Toyota did submit to the clamor with the 105 that never officially reached our shores).
See the parallels? Same engine, suspension revisions, refinements....Much like the 100 to 80ers, the BM/BNs owners may not be the BP's market....the latter is much pricier everywhere.
And... it doesn't have anything to do w/ the new FONT. Me? Old or new, I'd debadge anyway.[emoji16]

Price of the Mazda 3 sedan in China starts at 125,900RMB for the lowest variant to 178,900RMB for the totl variant, price are sticker price, di pa kasama road tax, insurance, car registrations...siguro add pa ng 20k-25k sa mga sticker price.

I visited Mazda again to ask for an update for the parts I ordered and I saw another Mazda 3. The 1.5L variant. I was surprised it had leather seats. Checked the dials again, ok naman. Solid feeling. Baka early batch yung 2.0L na tinignan ko na maluwag yung dials. It’s still expensive for what you’re getting though.
Actually ok yung features nung base variant.
The really big problem is the engine, not saying it's bad, but at 1.3M nga, they should have gone with 2.0L and 2.5L for the 1.6M totl.
I think at this point in time, given na na mahal na ang cars, with the Corolla, Civic, 3, Forte, etc. topping out at around 1.6M - for the same amount, you'll get a class higher, 5-10 years ago?
At least justify the cost man lang.. really tough times for us lower class.![]()
I was told by the lead technician from Mazda that at first, he thinks it is overpriced. However, he later said that the price is "justified" once he learned the improvements.
In their seminar, it was said that even the tires are specifically designed for it. That is, the particular brand and type of tire is fitted for that particular model has their own research study.
I'm not saying that other tire brands won't fit, but the particular type won't give the "same improvement" as designed allegedly.
And this is just one of them...
^
So it would be unKodo like if you change something on the car. Even just a tiny bit?

That I cannot say...
There is even a rubber on the lid of the trunk. It is said that it is to reduce noise and/or improve aerodynamics.
However, that tire is somehow "questionable" for me. We know that some people like to replace their rims a bit larger than the stock one. I wonder what will happen if ever.
