How about the value proposition of the 2.0 R Sedan * 1.195M? What do you guys think? all I got to haggle is free 3 year LTO and no DI.

Much better handling, more power, more comfortable ride, more refined interior, more features.
If have an SUV already in your garage, the Mazda 3 is the best second car I can think of for the price.
If you asked me a year ago, I'd have taken the Mazda 3 in a heartbeat since I'm the target demographic, but for some reason the practicality of the Montero marginally trumps the driving fun of the Mazda 3.

Hi guys, I test drove a mazda 2.0R sedan and was really satisfied with the power and handling. But I felt a strong vibration when I was about to park it. The vibration is felt in idle even on the passenger side. The feeling is like the engine is idling low or misfiring. The mileage of the test drive car was around 4.5k. What I did is to turn off the engine and started it again then the vibration went away.
Did anyone experience this? I am really contemplating to get the mazda but the vibration I felt is what's holding me back. I'm not sure if this would be a problem long-term since I owned a mazda familia before and it had some idling issues as well.
Thanks in advance.
Right, if you have the chance to purchase a 1.3m car, would you pass up on buying the mazda 3 and follow the practical side you? Or would you rather get that car now that will satisfy ur daily driving experience? You may have the desire to get the car that you want now but i guess long term, practicality would matter.. it would be a hard decision if u think about it. but at the end of the day, you should be happy with the purchase, regardless what you get.. (i think im gonna go with mazda with that last statement :D)
Anybody here with recent fuel consumption figures driving their mazda 3 2.0? And how😕 the driving experience so far?
We get 11.3L/100km on a mixed highway/city driving. Driving experience is amazing especially on spirited drives. Our 2.0 R sedan (deep crystal blue) has been with us for almost 3 months with 2000 km.
Choosing between Mazda 3 and Montero, it's a no brainer for us since our old drive is an Innova.
I have the 2.0 hatch. So far, after 10 full tanks, I have an average of 7.9 km/l. This is mostly city driving (once ko pa lang nadala out of town). Everyday route is Pasig-C5-BGC-Makati and back (average speed is 11-14 kph). The highest I got is 9.5 km/l while the lowest is 6.95 km/l.
Hope this helps :D
Hmm, that's an average of 8-9km/liter. A far cry from mazda's press release of 14-16 km/l for the 2.0.. i wonder if that will still improve after sometime.. thought the i-stop ans i-eloop would make a lot of difference.. now im having 2nd thoughts :/ Our vios is averaging 15km/l combined city and highway (edsa-slex). But how's ur driving experience so far? Is it really fun to drive? How different is it to drive a mazda 3 vs the altis or civic?
Got it!
I saw a mazda 3 1.5 aluminum metalic in covered parking area earlier this afternoon and it looks stunning! Which is better for u guys, red or aluminum?
Also, is the price diff b/w the 1.5 and 2.0 variant super sulit if you get the higher priced 2.0 variant? From the outside not much of a difference, unless you get the mazda speed. Infact you may not be able to tell if it's a 2.0 variant unless you notice the rim size. What do u guys think?
At night you'll notice since the 2.0 has a projector headlight afaik.

Jut703 is right. Masarap siya ihataw. When you fully depress the gas pedal, it will not go down all the way to the floor when normal pressure is applied. Push a little bit more and you will hear a click that activates the kickdown switch and that's where the fun starts.
It depends on the reason why you're in the market for a new ride. If I didn't have the Innova, I would still get the Mazda 3 over the Montero since my objective was to get a car. I could consider getting an SUV on the next vehicle purchase. MU-X or Trailblazer perhaps.
In hindsight, if we added a little more to the budget, we could have gotten the lower variant Camry.![]()
Red pa rin mas maganda for me. Red looks good in any lighting condition. The aluminum looks washed out in extreme brightness (during the summer days when Mazda promoted the Mazda 3 in BGC), and perhaps during heavy downpour.
I have the 1.5 and if I only had an extra amount of money, I would have gotten the 2.0.
The seats are great, sunroof, i-stop/i-eloop, larger rims (pero mas maganda ride comfort ni 1.5 because of smaller rims)
Although I am not a fan of the raising HUD.
I experience this a little bit in my 1.5 as well during idling.
I'm not sure if I just didn't notice it at first, but mine goes away after a while then goes back. I don't think it's (general engine) misfiring as there seems to be no problem with acceleration. Unless the timing is off on low idle.
I'll have the casa check it up when it goes for PMS.
I see, if I buy one, hopefully in the next two weeks, I would try that spirited drivingI guess you won't have the same fun experience with the 1.5 variant?
By the way, *MDB, what color is ur mz3? And would u consider buying the mazda 3 speed if it was offered 3months ago?
We have the deep crystal blue. Do the dealers say that all colors are currently available?
I'm not sure if the 1.5 variant also has the kickdown switch. Ask your Sales agent to be sure.
I would still choose the regular 2.0R over the Mazda 3 Speed. Considering it's price, it would bring me closer to the Camry.![]()
Good point. I think lighting condition is a huge factor. In covered areas the aluminum metalic looks very good, the yuppie/executive looking. Saw one test drive aluminum metalic which looks faded in the open parking lot. Or maybe its just really too dusty.. hmmm. But If i were to choose its either the aluminum metalic or red. What color did u choose btw?
Accdng to the sales agent, just limited units arrived. 3 at most for each colors for each dealers. And mazda speed only has 3 units for soul red and 3 for white (total 6 mazda speed). Next batch is next year na for the speed. Not sure if that's true. Probably just a sales ploy. But for sure there is a long line regardless of variant.
Kind of contemplating with mazda speed primarily bec of the sound system and powerseats. I tried and heard the harman kardon in the top variant of forester and fell in love with it immediately. But it will cost me 1.88m. So forget it hehe.
I have a black 1.5 (safe color for all occassions - only car and daily driver). 1.5 version only has white, black, and aluminum.
Fell in love with the soul red when I first laid my eyes on it at the BGC demo. If there was an option to pay a little bit extra for soul red for the 1.5, I would have gotten it. 2nd option was white, naa-accentuate kasi nung black fog lamp covers and side mirror trim(?) 'yung color ng M3 eh. Pinaka-obvious siya sa white.
Ok rin naman si aluminum, under certain lighting (especially when under covered areas) you can see the ***y lines of the car. Medyo kapag masyado maliwanag nga lang, parang nagiging flat 'yung look ng kotse.
The soul red, however, shows the lines of the car in the dark (there's a soul red M3 near my space in a dim condo parking lot - nang-iinggit lang, hehehe). And as I've said before, looks good in intense lighting as well.
