Mazda US is giving the option of putting the 2.5L SkyActiv engine on it. That would really nice if they bring it here. 184hp on a small car, truely zoom-zoom!

Locally if 2.0 malamang nasa 1.1 to 1.2M yan based on the other 2.0s in its segment. Sana they bring in the 1.6 Skyactiv para di naman lalagpas ng 1M ang lower models

I heard 1.5L and 2.0L SkyActiv-G and 2.2L SkyActiv-D lang ang engines. Low output ang 1.5L pero high torque. Plus remember it is lighter than the current gen Mazda 3.

1.3 ang Demio. 2.5 planned for the US. 1.5 sounds about right for the weight

The global engine lineup for the all-new Mazda 3 hatchback includes a newly developed 1.5-liter Skyactiv gasoline engine in addition to the 2.0- and 2.5-liter mills and 2.2-liter clean diesel powerplant. A hybrid electric sedan version will also be made available but only for Mazda's home country.

Oh man ibang klase parang mini 6 talaga especially with the long hood and the creases. Tas sa kulay din. Based on the pics yung instrument panel reminds me of the one in the Macca MP4-12C given the shape and the big tach in the middle. Probably hinting on a high powered Mazdaspeed version in the future.

Because of the SkyActiv engine's unusually long and twisted headers. New Mazdas will definitely have this cab-rearward look of having a very long hood.

You have to have space to put these snakes in.


The headers are a major component in the system that allows high compression ratios without blowing the engine up. Change them at your own risk

Let's all give a big great Спасибо (pronounced spa-SEE-buh) to the guys over at Top Gear Russia for the early release of the first official photos of the new 2014 Mazda3 Sedan and a big thank you to Carscoops reader Laurence H. for telling us about it.
The new four-door sedan of the latest generation "3" is exactly what you'd expect it to be – an even prettier body style than the hatchback (or at least it is in our eyes and you're always free to disagree with us) that also looks like a Mazda6 that shrunk in the dryer.

The addition of the boot looks seamless in these pictures, thanks in part to the elongated roofline and the crispy-styled rear end with a different design from the hatchback.

Unsurprisingly, the interior is the same as on the five-door model, though, we'll have to wait and see if it the four-door body style affects passenger space. One thing is for sure – the boot will be much larger due to the longer rear overhang.

There's no mention of the engine range, but it's a given that the sedan will be offered with the same gasoline and diesel four-cylinder SkyActive engines and 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions as the hatch. In Europe, this means three petrol engines, and in particular, a 99hp (100PS) 1.5-liter, a 118hp (120PS) 2.0-liter and a 163hp (165PS) 2.0-liter, plus a 148hp (150PS) 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel.

North America will get two gasoline mills, including a standard 2.0-liter unit producing 155hp and an optional 2.5-liter unit delivering 184 horsepower.

Worldwide sales of the sedan are expected to begin just before the end of the year.
