A joy to drive. No problem going up to Baguio. The 3 loves to carve corners.

Is changing the ATF really needed for our skyactivs? I was informed by the service manager at the casa that the ATF change is not really done but some owners do change their ATF.

For those who have changed their ATF, what's the km interval?

I know of some who did it upon clocking 100k. I'd do it proctively earlier & include the filter. Strictly use Mazda FZ ATF. That means no dialysis.[emoji4]

After owning my M3 1.5 for 3+ yrs, I'm finally taking a plunge and upgrading from 16s to 18s. I have selected Rota Roku Gunmetal (lighter wheels) and a Potenza re003 235/40r18. Getting it from APP autowheels...
Have no plans (yet) of lowering as the roads in my subd has humps on every street.
Primary reason is for better maneuvering corners and secondary na lang looks. I'm hoping I made the right tire size selection....

Plan ko magchange ATF when my M3 reaches 60k~ kms... Better safe than sorry... And advise ng Mazda Tech ko is to use Mazda ATF. Dont use daw yung mga mercon... it's not meant for skyactiv.

For older cars with the conventional 4 speed automatic transmission, 40T km is usually the recommended ATF replacement interval. 60T km seems to be good enough for the modern skyactiv tranny.

    Stock 215/45/18 sidewall is 96.75mm
235/40/18 sidewall is 94mm. 3mm shorter. Harsher...& you lost 1.5mm of ground clearance & gained same of wheel gap.
245/40/18, however, will yield you 98mm sidewall ht....1mm higher than stock 18s![emoji106]
Go 245/40/18s & have APP roll your rear fenders as 245 on 8.5/et45 can slightly rub on full load & sudden dips. Ask Phil, he has done this to a few out there.[emoji4][emoji106]

Sir Travs, I'm riding on 225/45/18, what will be the affect on the ride quality compare to those tires you mentioned?

Look into Koni Special Active dampers...or the older version called FSD. I have the latter...You won't look back. They'll make your 3 a much better car.[emoji106]

Oh, US is your best bet. The Special Actives may currently be on backorder. That's how big a hit they are. Tire Rack carries em. I believe there are still leftovers of the FSD...Check here...
214-216 Mazda 3 Sedan and Hatchback KONI FSD Shock Kit - Front & Rea – KONI Market

DIY'd em & went for alignment after. Any suspension shop surely can...it's pretty straight forward, sir.
