Mazda 3 V hatch. Feels like a proper car and designed better. Mazda 2 class vehicles are designed with budget in mind and it really can't compare with the Mazda 3.

FC halos pareho lang yung dalawa. Driving dynamics halos pareho lang din. Kung sapce ang hanap mo, get the 3V, if you want the toys, get the 2R.

    re: Mazda 3 Face lift

this is just me pero parang mas gusto ko pa yung fascia ng pre-facelift, parang mas may character

could be different in person pero my initial impression is that parang na-tame yung design philosophy that mazda was trying to express, couldn't elaborate more pero that's what i felt sa pics ni sir travs

could just be me pero the one time i was inside a Mazda 2, na-amaze ako and thought na it's almost as good as Miata
haven't scrutinized the materials though, and i'm only talking about the interior design

Initial reaction & reception on the facelift has generally been lukewarm....still very pleasing...can't help but wonder whether that small badge under the AXELA will really happen...hehe

On choosing between the M2 & 3...If I can't have both, I'd still take the latter....dictated by preference & need.

sa Mazda 3 rin ako if kaya ng budget. I almost always choose the bigger car, you don't know kasi when you'll need the space. Mazda pa naman isn't known for having exceptional cabin/ cargo space.

    From Autoblog...

Mazda's new turbo four fits in both the 6 and the 3

If a naturally aspirated Skyactiv four-cylinder fits, the turbo will fit too

Despite the size differences, the*Mazda CX-9*shares a lot with its smaller car-based siblings, the*Mazda6and*Mazda3. That could allow*Mazda*to slot its full-sizer's new 2.5-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood of its smaller offerings. Pardon us while we do a happy dance.

"[The 2.5-liter turbo] fits in a lot of our cars, and where we're actually going to put it is another question," Mazda North America vehicle development engineer*Dave Coleman told Australia'sCar Advice. Coleman specified that the turbocharged engine will fit in all the same applications that can accommodate the company's 2.5-liter gas and*diesel*engines.

"Basically, that big space we used for the bundle of snakes exhaust manifold, the turbo is in that space too. They're all packaged to occupy the same space. It's exactly the same clearance as the exhaust manifold of the other engines."

This kind of logic – if*Engine*A is the same size as Engine B, then both should fit in Car C – is what's lead us to imagine a turbocharged Mazda6 since the new engine was announced. In short, it's great news. Mazda's 2.5-liter turbo is a hell of an engine in the*CX-9, and it's hard to imagine it'd be worse in a lighter vehicle. But just because it works from an engineering standpoint doesn't mean it's going to happen. At least, not soon.

"It fits. I'm not a product planner so I don't get to make that call," Coleman told*Car Advice. "It's up to the product planners to decide what they're going to put it in."

The most obvious application for a turbocharged engine in the 3 or 6 is as a reborn Mazdaspeed model. But don't get too excited – Coleman said Mazda hasn't even gotten as far as building an engineering prototype with this engine. We're still firmly at the theoretical stage. And that's bad news, because it gels with what we've been reporting –that Mazda will wait a generation*for future Mazdaspeed models. We just stopped doing our happy dance.

Just finished my 2nd PMS here in China, total cost if converted to peso is P4600. 00, 4 liters of oil, labor, fuel additives and oil filter. They don't have yojin 3 here like there in the Philippines.

Not bad! What oil & viscosity are they using? Grab an extra liter for storage.
Though no big deal, please note that the Sky G 1.5 engine has a capacity of 4.2L w/ filter replacement, 3.9L without.
    The 2.0 has the same 4.2l w/ filter replacement, & 4.0l without.

The office granted me a company car, & budget is P1m. At first, I was thinking of getting an Altis, but my boss said to check out Mazda, & I'm glad I did! I went to Mazda Greenhills & good thing they have 1 1.5HB in silver color available. Made a P5k reservation fee while office prepares the papers. Hopefully by next week I could get the unit already. Been doing some back reading the past couple of days, & I'm still at page 380 someting, but I've already learned a lot here!

While waiting for the unit, first accessory I got is ofcourse Sir Travs plater relocator! Next up is having the dealership change the horns so warranty won't be voided right? Then proceed to Sir Louie Anson's shop to do some shopping hehe.

To those that ordered leather seats from seatmate, could kindly you post pics of what it looks like?

I have a 3M Nomad mat from my previous car that I still plan to use with the Mazda 3. I think with the Mazda 3, the gas pedal is at the floor (not suspended) right? So which means I might need to cut up the driver's side mat to fit it? Or better to get the deep dish instead?

How about your iphone? How & where do you dock it? I'm not a fan of the suction cup in the windshield though.

    Thanks!

Congrats and welcome to the world of Zoom Zoom!

Re phone mount: I don't like the idea of sticking anything to the dashboard as this will leave an ugly permanent mark in the long run. Our cd slot is too low to be useful. I went with the windshield suction cup option since it does not leave permanent marks on the interior.

Yeah, cd slot is too low for a cd mount holder. I was using a griffin tune flex, something like this:

Or maybe getting a Bobine Auto:

Will just have to locate where the cigarette lighter (for the griffin tune flex) & the usb slot (for the Bobine Auto) is. Any other phone docks you guys are using?

    Thanks!

Grats, bugs sir! WelcoM3 to the Mowb3rship.
On floorliners, Louie has a coupla options. You may overlay your Nomad over them w/ clips to keep em from moving. Just cut slits on both the Nomad & Louie's liner..wide enough for clips from National Bookstore to pass...hobo mod:

On phone mounts, those above are all good. If you're looking for gen3 M3 specific ones, you might wanna consider these:

This is an RHD cupholder mount from Mazda Australia
I've yet to see 1 for our LHD M3s, there's gotta be one...

*vinrem - thanks! will check out your suggestion.

*travajante - thanks! & looking forward to your plate relocator. Those iPhone holders look nice. Might be a challenge to look for them though hehe.

For the matting pic, are those bull clips? You cut both Louie's deep dish & 3m nomad mat so they won't move? & do you still separate them when you have them cleaned?

    Thanks!

Thanks bugs sir, your kit should be w/ you in no time. Those links will get you those phone holders.

On the mats, I got a set of hobo rubber mats & clipped cut-to-shape Nomads on. Two clips each on the rear part. I just shake & flip the nomads while cleaning. I've been doing this for the longest time. The Nomad keeps the mat new & gets replaced once worn.

Those iRings are nice, I've seen those in the mall last father's day as this booth was selling it for a discounted price. Should've bought one but tinamad nako balikan.
iirc walang off ang center airvents ng Mazda3 just the driver's and passenger side, right? Don't know if it's safe for the cellphone na nabubugahan ng aircon? Or mas maganda pa ba yun to keep it from getting hot?
Lastly, has anybody here gotten or tried the SD card nav yet?
