I use Fuel Save 91 octane. Getting 11kpl on my normal C5 route. Nag-Makati ako kanina bagsak to 7.5

91-93 should be safe. Di pa rin ako convinced na higher octane gas like Blaze will destroy our engines. Baka may miscommunication lang somewhere. Pero since it runs perfectly well on the cheapest available gas ok na ako don

Well, if you backread a bit in the CX-5 forum, there have been cases of clogged injectors due to usage of high octane fuels. The additives in these so-called high octane fuels were the ones cited as the cause of the clogging.

As for the use of unleaded gas, SkyActiv engines were designed to burn--in some countries with clean fuel--87 octane gas. In our case, 91 is the lowest available, and is the one recommended for use.

mga sir. mejo OT, ang recommended RON ng M3 2015 natin is 91-93. nagpakarga na ba kayo higher than that? (e.g. Petron XCS 95RON/ Blaze 100RON, Caltex Gold 95RON, Shell VPower Nitro, etc.)

Tama ba na okay lang umakyat wag lang bababa sa 91? Or should it be strict hanggang 93 lang (Regular unleaded - Caltext Silver/Shell Fuelsave/Petron Xtra Advance). Thanks

Yep I read that part because my dad has a CX-5 and he was asking the same thing. I'm still not convinced. If it is because of the additives then other direct injection gas engines should avoid using our high octane as well? CMIIW but the Subaru FA20 is DI but it requires premium fuel.

Mazda took great pains to convince people that their high compression gas engines don't need high-octane fuel to avoid knocking. Baka somewhere along the way it was interpreted from "not required" to "do not use".

But I'm still glad that I don't have to use expensive fuel

Nagtataka nga rin ako jan eh. It is usually high compression engines that works in tandem with premium, high octane fuels since higher piston compression leads to higher chances of knocking, which necessitates higher RON to counterbalance. Oh well, at least mura gas sa mzd3.

Rarely ako mag-hand brake kaya lagi lang ako nakatapak sa brakes when shifting from N to D. Ano kaya reason kung bakit may lag ang pag kagat ng transmission

Not sure if I understood the question pero pa-ahon ka ba? Maybe it's the Hill start Assist (HSA) para di umatras ang car pag-hanging, yun kasi alam ko may delay na 1-2 sec.

Nope di ako paahon-ahon. Kahit patag ako may delay sya when shifting from N to D.

All ATs may lag naman talaga, around 2 to 3 seconds.

Bit the bullet kanina. Paid a reservation fee for 2.0R Soul Red HB sa Mazda Pasig kanina. Loko itong SA ko, good news daw dahil next month may parating na mga Mazda 3 Speed variants, and by March pa daw ang 2.0R. Sa loob ko, hindi good news ito kundi bad news dahil hindi ko habol ang Speed variant. I don't know kung totoo o hindi ang sinasabi niya.
