Happy new year everyone! Dumadami na tayo dito a. Congrats to the new owners!
My small contribution to the community here. I called up four of the five Casas (except for where I got my unit) and inquired about Petron. Now this looks like a dead issue already since 50 pages na siyang hindi discussed, but I wanted to confirm na rin. Here's what I got:
- all four say it's okay, basta 91 lang
- one speculated that Berjaya is connected with Shell. Those are his words, not mine
- one said that the lowest octane rating in Petron may not be 91. Again, his words, not mine - although I doubt if this is true
So for those Petron fleet card holders like me, go crazy
Hehe

Brad, I have a black one.

I gassed up one time at a Shell station somewhere in Pampanga. I used Shell FS 91 since first fill-up. but this time, the Engine is whining a bit. like it has an asthma which is bothering me at times. akala ko dahil i tested it to 180kph prior to gassing up i thought that has something to do with the whining thing. what i did was i drained the tank until there were no bars on the fuel gauge then gas up. after some ten kilometers I immediately noticed na wala na. 2.0R here.
Bad gas happens. On pump health, always remember we have direct injection engines which means we have high pressure fuel pumps that need fuel as its coolant. It's never a good idea to run on empty. Ask Bimmer guys.....So many HPFP failures even on the 1seriesM. Another known weakness of DI engines is the dreaded carbon build up w/c needs walnut media blasting. Hope our Sky engines are better than the Euro 1s.

Kinda OT: Shells is on a roll lately. They recently partnered with Hyundai. Makes sense because they get a steady volume buyer of their products through the casas.
