If the spare will just be there for emergencies, as it apparently is the case for you since your remains unused, then no. Leave the spare as is.

*IMm29: yup, in the last 2 years once pa lang nagamit yung spare tire, i.e. to get to the nearest tire repair shop.

Yes bro. Ok lang yun. Donut tires have bigger discrepancies with oem wheels and tires, yet some donuts are oem. The 0.5" difference won't be a problem for emergencies. It might not even hobble your ride at all.

Also environment plays a big role in tire aging. Hot weather and exposure to sunlight will shorten tire life. So if the car is usually left parked in the open more often, I would go for the six year rule on tire life.

To know when your tires were manufactured, there is a stamp information on the side of the tire. Best to know how to read it so you are not caught buying unused OLD expired tires which are unsafe.

wow ganun pala katagal ang life span ng gulong nagulat ako dun ah....here in KSA, with my company we changed our tire yearly or every 70k km or what ever comes first, nanghihinayang nga ako halos ala pang galos puro pa nman Michelen germany na R15....

I agree with IM. And even if it does wobble, just travel slower.

Hell, it's better than having tire problems. I remember one time I ate at KFC Banawe and had a flat tire. I had to go all the way to Shell D.Tuazon to fill it up with air.. all while not even stepping on the gas so I was traveling less than 20km/h that's a 2 PSI tire without spare tires nor tools for you.

So does a lot of other tire makers, including some China-made ones. Doesn't make them any more special. The design objectives of aviation vs automotive tires are totally different... worlds apart.

Replaced with 4 Kumho Solus KH17 (175/65/14) instead through Roadstar The Fort (Costed 2,850/tire and 50/tingga).

I haven't seen yoko decidel yet as well as no idea in pricing but if the tire grooves are finer compared to A drive then its should be better. Tires with fine grooves are usually quieter & less fuel use vs wide grooves.

Low budget yet good quality tires?

Has anyone here tried using Kumho Portran K53 tires? Where are these tires made? Any review or initial impressions? I am contemplating on replacing my two front tires and I am being offered with the said tires. Also, how much do these tires cost for 185 R14C size? Thanks!

Korean brand ang Kumho. No idea where their factory is though.

    Anyone tried NEXEN tires?

I was also offered this brand of tires when I inquired this afternoon in Binan. I am torn between Kumho and Nexen. Same were Korean branded tires but I was told that Kumhos were made in Vietnam and Nexens were from Korea. Price difference is 500 with the Kumho going for 3,600 each and the Nexen for 3,100. Any feedbacks from Nexen users?

    Cannot comment on the Nexen.

I have Kumho Solus as factory tires in my Sorento and my experience with them is so far so good. No slippage even raining (very rarely it rains here) but very dependable when using on dry roads. Get them!
