from our experience, got our Sorento EX AWD R-eVGT (7-str) last 2010. 1.890m - less 300k (KIA Pre-Selling) = 1.590m for the TOTL non-premium AWD back then. this is the same variant as the EX being sold now. the ones with Smart Key/Push start, cruise, dual-zone ACC, rear spoiler, side plastic garnish, 3rd row A/C, etc..
freebies are: (bank financing)
- OEM type Touchscreen/GPS HU.
- plant installed 3M BC35 tint
- floormats - quality is so bad. wala lang ako mahanap na OEM. kalbo na yung free mats months palang.
- black seatcovers for all 7 seats.
- labor for 1k/5k PMS
reserved initially for a 5-str EX variant * pre-selling promo * 1.390m. i didn't come in 6 months, so called up kia to process the refund for the 300k initial downpayment. was shifting to Santa fe instead but then they offered the TOTL AWD non-premium * 1.590m w/ all the freebies. after few seconds of thinking over the phone, agad pinareserve yung unit.haha
Sulit yan ah, definitely better than the Santa Fe priced similarly. Pero rare din naman yung deal na ganyan, Kia lang ang kumukuha ng 300k pre-selling downpayment hahaha.
Now, the Sorentos don't come with GPS HUs, even the EX variant. I saw the stock floor mats that came with the car, they're probably just half the thickness as the 3M mats that I have on our Altis (which came free BTW).
I guess I'll try to haggle for at least the mats if they won't give me the tints for the Sorento if ever.
Mukha palang hindi talaga nililibre ang chattel mortgage pag hindi in-house, 'no?![]()
double post. sorry.

ako din gulat nung nakita ko yung unit may touch panel.hehe. parang inequip ata nun yung mga AWD EX sorento ng CAC with touch panel HU kasi naglabas noon ang santa fe touch panel din as stock. kaya yung mga AWD EX may free Touch HU. no camera though. nakabili na ko wala lang time mainstall.hehe.
the stock floor mats sarap itapon.haha. yung third row nalang yung maayos sa mga floor mats kasi madalang lang may nakasakay dun. lahat natanggal na yung parang carpet.
yup, di din free yung chattel sa amin since bank financing. i didn't care to haggle more. the deal was just too good to be true. I just want to take it home. for 1 week kinabahan ako kasi laging urong sulong yung release date. kesyo walang personnel na kukuha ng unit, next day wala daw yung inspector sa planta kaya di mairelease, next tinitint pa,etc. kala ko kasi aatras pa sila. buti at natuloy.
every time i'm bringing it to CASA for PMS, then i'll be seeing a LX sorento, di ko mapigilan mapangiti. iniisip ko ang swerte namin dahil yung LX (5-str) dapat makukuha namin sa 1.590m, pero nakuha namin yung EX AWD (7-str) which are worlds apart in terms of features.![]()

has anyone tried painting the black side mirror covers? how long did it take from take down to install back? i'm actually thinking of buying one of those "chrome" covers and then having it painted. this way they will not have to remove the side mirrors for painting. any suggestions guys?
guys, checkout the 2013 Facelifted Kia Sorento. di lang exterior yung na-facelift. the interior as well. the revised interior includes yung gearshift knob is katulad na ng sa sportage, yung may leather body. mas gusto ko yan kesa sa gate-type. the center console was revised. buttons are on different lay-out, as well as yung space malapit sa shifter, mas usable and better appearance ngayon IMHO.
no more needles on the speedometer. it is replaced with a 7" monitor displaying interactive graphics. ganda over-all ng interior
Thats i have a feeling that kia will drop their prices once the stocks of sta fe come in.

get the all-new HARI Santa Fe GLS 2WD * 1.768m coming september ata. Overall, The Sorento is a great CUV, I enjoy every minute I drive it. it also looks better than the other options on the market today IMHO. but the All-new Santa Fe is just awesome.
for 80k difference, you will loose the Dual Zone auto Climate A/C from the Sorento, but you will get a more important Electronic Stability Program, and the 18-inch rims. exterior looks palang panalo na ang SF.
also take note, there is already a facelifted sorento.
reasonable maybe. ang tanong eh bakit walang bumibili? the 2nd gen SF is also overpriced compared to Montero/Fortuner, pero madami naman bumili.
Sorento is just the little brother of SF. dapat mas mura sa Hyundai as is the case with Sportage and Tucson. to market as somewhat expensive suv, eh tingnan muna kung may mmarket share ba sorento sa mid-SUV category. even the Captiva beats it
Nope. On any given day, I'd see around 10-20 Sorentos. Captiva? Maswerte na maka-tatlo. The facelifted version's been out for a while now, wala pa kong nakikita ni isa, except sa Chevy showroom.
BTT:
I'd definitely get the Santa Fe GLS (1.768M) over the Sorento EX. Even with the 100k discount, I still think the Santa Fe's more worth it. The simple fact that it's a few years newer, with a more modern interior and exterior, is enough reason to go for it. Buti nalang ok yung features niya.
This is exactly what made me think of getting the Sorento, it was originally priced at 1.890M (7 Seater CRDI) when it was first introduced in PH less than 2 years ago.
Now it's at 1.680M ( BTW Just got additonal 10k Discount so Total discount is 110K) so in less than 2 years you had 210K less from the original Price which is not bad at all.
So Comparing the Sorento with the High end Fortuner and Montero which also have older designs and priced more the 1.7M, i guess the Sorrento wil be a good value. (Specs wise)
As for the New Santa Fe the new design is actually nice, however, I currently have a 2011 SF, so having another one will be like eating the same banana all over again, because for sure, only the design will be different but handling will almost be the same.
As for the New facelifted Sorento which is coming maybe late this year, Knowing Kia's rediculous Pricing, for sure it will again Hit almost 2M or maybe more![]()
