This is exactly what made me think of getting the Sorento, it was originally priced at 1.890M (7 Seater CRDI) when it was first introduced in PH less than 2 years ago.

Now it's at 1.680M ( BTW Just got additonal 10k Discount so Total discount is 110K) so in less than 2 years you had 210K less from the original Price which is not bad at all.

So Comparing the Sorento with the High end Fortuner and Montero which also have older designs and priced more the 1.7M, i guess the Sorrento wil be a good value. (Specs wise)

As for the New Santa Fe the new design is actually nice, however, I currently have a 2011 SF, so having another one will be like eating the same banana all over again, because for sure, only the design will be different but handling will almost be the same.

As for the New facelifted Sorento which is coming maybe late this year, Knowing Kia's rediculous Pricing, for sure it will again Hit almost 2M or maybe more

mas same banana yung 2011 SF sa Sorento . parang isang tao lang sila na magkaiba ng damit. even sa recalls, laging pares sila. they might slightly differ from ride quality or handling, pero over-all, they share almost all of the internal components, unlike the 2013 SF, most likely may revisions yan. one of the significant changes is that the new SF will have a motor driven power steering compared to the hydraulic set-up on 2011 SF/Sorento. so steering feel and probably handling will differ.

KIA is doing good on pricing since the takeover of Ginia Domingo as CAC President. most likely di na yan mag-ooverprice ng sobra as before.

actually mas maganda handling ng sorento kesa sa gen 2 santa fe. a little bit firmer ang ride so hindi siya masyado nagle-lean sa corners.

yun namang 2013 sorento kung ok lang naman sa iyo na bumili sa ebay e by next year available na lahat yun cosmetic upgrades nya. so bili ka na lang ng 2012 sorento for 1.430M then upgrade mo na lang, di ka aabot ng 2M total cost.

umuulan e, wala nagpa-paint. meron nagsabi kaya daw nila kahit umuulan, ask ko kung saan mag-paint e sa labas lang hahaha! bopol.

I saw a DLX last Sunday in White Plains. The only thing really obvious that it's a higher model -- well, to me at least -- were it's bigger and less common rims.

*Sparcom, sir hingi lang ako advice... Meron kasi ako nabili mga Kia OEM parts from Korea (Audio sw, Bluetooth, ipod/USB port and other stuff), Sorento is still under warranty...Saan ba okay ipainstall ito (HU from Kia)?

di pa nga ako nakakita. naubusan ng stock yung sa tandang sora saka mindanao avenue, sa romy's car accessories sa abad santos out of stock din. ask ko kung pwede mag-order wala pa reply antay ko pa. last resort ko e bili na lang sa casa, depende sa price ha. kung mahal masyado e baka ipa-paint ko na lang yung side mirror, meron naman na kasi fender repeaters so kahit wala na repeaters sa mirror.

btw the misus was at kia quirino today (as usual balik na naman ako dito sa bartolina kaya siya nagdala) for inststallation of the free spoilers. sabay ipapa-1000km pm na din sana nya. sabi ng kia wala daw 1000km pm, every 5000 lang. di din daw need every 6 months basta wag lang masyado palampasin. ok ah! pak you hari hahahaha! (pero sana di gumaya ang columbia, fingers crossed!)

Targeting the CRDI LX 6AT 4X4 at 1.43m. so loob paano ba malaman kung 4x4 variant?

Sa mga dealerships na puntahan ko either wala itong variant or 4x2 AT only or 4x4 MT ang 1.43m.

Visited kia metroeast and pasig. Will soon visit kia ortigas too.

Just came from Kia Acropolis today, and as it turns out, the Sorento line-up isn't as messy as what the flurry of information previously posted in the forums would suggest.

Here's their current price list:



LX Gas M/T - 1.09M, no fogs, no roof rail, black side mirrors, gas engine
LX Diesel M/T - 1.23M, same as above except the engine
LX Diesel A/T - 1.43M, same as M/T diesel but with fog lamps, roof rails and cargo cover. Side mirrors are still black
EX Diesel AT - 1.79M, 7-seater TOTL variant.

What's interesting here is that the bare diesel AT variant, which was previously available for 1.330M, is gone. I asked my SA about it, and she said that only the first batch of shipments this year contained this particular variant. Subsequent shipments will not have the 1.33M LX anymore.

This means that some dealers might still have the 1.33M LX on stock, while others don't. Hence the apparent confusion. My guess is that Kia itself isn't so sure what variants they want to bring in, so they try out lots of combinations. Then there's the problem of moving the old stock of Sorentos (the ones that were overpriced, with the cheapest being 1.59M).

I'm guessing that in a few months, shipments will be more stable and standard. The current line-up that Kia Acropolis seems reasonable enough for me.

^^ nasuyod namin lahat ng dealers sa metro manila, wala yang P1.430M 2012 sorento lx 4wd. at mali yung nasa brochure nila, walang fog lamps, roof rails, cargo cover yung 4wd na lx, 2wd ang meron. di na dadating yan sa pinas kasi yung padating na batch e yung 2013 model na.

pwde narin sa amin ang crdi na 5 seater AT, 2wd at 1.3 - 1.4M(discounts pa sana since incoming na newer model) kung meron fog lamps etc. but i have not inspected any sorento except the TOTL display. sana hindi masyado na shortchanged ika nga.

topgear ph wrote "set to go on sale by October", thats nice pero kung kasabay nito ay price increase din. hindi na namin maka afford ng crdi AT sorento thats adequately equipped to be called an SUV. kaya malamang i grab namin itong <1.33M basta hindi kulang sa features.

IMHO, Hindi worth yun 1.23 na MT sobra ng bare nakita ko, buti pa yun Montero Sport na manual 1.168M Lang, fully loaded pa din.

Tanong lang mga masters...

Contemplating sa offer of ng office mate - a Sorrento 2006 4x4 LX matic for 500k.
Its condition:
--105k mileage
--Sony HU.
--Casa Maintained sya from the previous owner.. may papers naman. Nreplace na last year yung belt.
--Willing daw sya ipacheck namin sa Casa para sa mga parts na kelangan ayusin.
--Most probly kelangan na daw ng wheel alignment.
--Ok pa naman yung tires.
--May konting gasgas sa body (black color) pero hindi halata, wala naman bangga.
--Hindi na stock yung alarms nya kasi nakita ko yung ilaw nakasingit lang sa dashboard driver's side
--Medyo ok naman yung loob pero kelangan ng general interior detailing. Yung roof carpet malinis pa halos. Maselan kasi ako cleanliness ng mga sides sa loob ng car eh

Concerns ko:
--Parts: madali lang ba humanap ng mga parts nya?
--Maintenance: Safe lang ba sya imaintain outside Casa? Ok lang sa suking gasoline service stations? hehe
--How much regular change oil kaya nito?
--Consumption: Mas matipid daw kesa Fortuner pero ano ba yung usual consumption kaya nito?
--Wala ako makita na ibang for Sorrento 2006 na sale eh kaya hindi ko alam kung tama lang yung price sa condition.

Salamat Yebo. Tama ba yung idea na pag diesel yung sasakyan OK lang kung mataas yung mileage lalo na kung maintained naman yung car?

^ in my opinion, mas mabuting sa officemate mo na lang. para kilala mo. pwede mo tanungin anytime, kung bobolahin ka man, mga minor issues lang siguro. tawaran mo na lang

mas ok naman bumili sa kakilala kesa sa hindi mo kilala. malamang nga yung nasa sulit hindi naman yun ang tunay na mileage nun, baka nabaha pa. di naman siguro nabaha yung sa officemate mo?

2006 yan yung 2.5 intercooler ang engine, same ng sa starex. dami parts nyan. kabisado na yan ng mga talyer na gumagawa ng mga sterex, hyundai grace at pajero 2.5 so di na need sa casa ang maintenance.
