5 years na nga kaso may kasamang clause na 5k/3months pms. tapos as per posts here e pahirapan na mag-claim ng warranty, di gaya nung dati na 3 years lang madali lang mag-claim. kaya nga when i sold my sta fe instead of getting another sta fe i got a sorento instead.

Whats the PMS of the sorento ? How different from hyundai
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
5000 km/6 months. di din sila strict sa 6 months basta huwag lang daw palampasin ng matagal. wala din first 1000km pm. they use zic oil.
it's the 3 months clause of hyundai that is killing hyundai crdi owners. imagine naman every 3 months gagastos ka ng 8-10k for an oil change kahit hindi tumakbo ng 1000km ang kotse mo.
Choosing between sorento and cx5. Pure city driving lang kasi ako. Very seldom out of town. Cumulative mileage per year is arnd 12t kms. Dealbreaker aa akin yung pms cost

na-test drive mo na cx5? di ba parang mataas yung dash? magte-test drive sana ako before kaso sa casa pa lang e need ko na itaas yung driver's seat all the way para makita ko ang hood. kaso naman pag tinaas ko ang seat na-bump ko na head ko sa roof. pati si misis yun ang inayawan nya sa cx5 mataas ang dashboard, so di natuloy test drive namin. di naman kami pandak, 5'9" ako and 5'5" si misis.
i was finally able to take the sorento to nlex and sctex last tuesday. took it to 120-140kph at nlex, did not notice any torque steer even if i suddenly push down on the accelerator (i was varrying speeds between 120-140kph to check this torque steer). not even a hint. fuel consumption was 6.9L/100km (or 14.5km/L) at constant 120 kph. at sctex, decided to check its top speed. got it to 196 kph (that's GPS reading, speedometer was 200+kph) level stretch, 185 kph uphill. maintained it at 190 kph for at least 2 minutes, fuel consumption was 12.9L/100 km or 7.75km/L. i had to suddenly slow down to 110 kph as i saw a sctex patrol ahead hehehe. then when i passed the patrol car i just maintained 150 kph speed, fuel consumption 7.5L/100km or 13.33km/L. btw, no torque steer at any of those speeds either. took me only some 14 minutes from dau entrance to sbma. on the way back, just maintained a nice 140 kph speed, fuel consumption was 7.3L/100km or 13.69km/L. slowed down to 110 kph when i passed another sctex patrol before the porac bridge, then when i sped up again this dang patrol decided to keep pace with me so i had to maintain 110 kph from porac bridge to nlex exit. kainis!
i was also able to check somewhat its cornering qualities at the zigzag road after sbma going to subic town. ok sya, walang masyadong lean, unlike my former santa fe. gave me more confidence in taking the corners faster. during overtaking from slow speed (less than 30kph, tangnang mga tricycles at jeep sa subic ang babagal!) medyo may hesitation if below 1600 rpm ang engine but once you get pass by 1700 rpm hataw na sya agad.

Casa maintained.
Ngaun dito sa SF nag less than 500k for a full tank eh considering average of 69 liters lagay ko dun, samantala strada ko dati 59 liters at 550km.
Maybe after the 40Tkm PMS, mag-improve pero putsa at what cost, sa 40TKM daw ng Hari, i will spend P25k or more, Samantala strada ko, since old scholl 4d56, puros shell service lang yun, pero consistent naman ang efficiency ng engine.

That's suppose to be the benefits of diesel eh, brusko, durable, matipid sa fuel and maintenance or oil, kaya ngs mas ginagamit ng Jeepneys and Buses eh. Kse they're molding the CRDis as somewhar upscale, eh suppose to be workhorse eto like the pickups. Even the pickups nowadays cost like sUvs. WTF! The Crdi's are the new milking cows and money making schemes, and for what kasi mas mura ng P10 sa pumping stations.
my take is this, since the Philippines is a third world country run by diesel jeepneys ang PuVs, kaya walang pagasa, improve ang diesel dito. And then we buy 1M to 2M suvs to fill up with these dirty diesels that are meant for substandard assembled steel vehicles.
Talo talaga, tsk tsk in the long run. I am looking at the Sorento gasoline MT or maybe if the 3rd gen SF has gas MT option, but diesel, no thanks, never again

popsy, i use Unioil diesel which is euro-4 compliant, <50ppm sulfur. on my GS i used to fill up with caltex-techron pero now since may malapit na unioil station e dun na ako.
di kaya since mostly city driving ka e barado na engine mo? you know, gunk in the egr, valves, exhaust? i did noticed that on my santa fe before lalo na lagi city driving lang yun at pag out of town kami e yung GRX (sold) or GS ang gamit. dati nasa 8+km/L tapos later on nasa 6.5km/L na lang. what i did was take the santa fe on my lone trips to zambales plus nilalagyan ko ng fuel additive yung diesel before the trip. i use any one of those injection system cleaners for diesels. syempre hataw ako sa nlex and sctex. after my trip to the province ayun babalik ulit siya sa dating fc nya. sometimes all you need to do is to burn out the carbon. italian/ferrari tune up. same thing we do with our gasoline engines di ba, effective din sa diesels.
siguro mas sensitive ang mga crdi engines natin compared to the old 4d56's and old school diesels. konting departure lang from the ideal conditions e laking effect na sa efficiency kaya ganyan. sa old school diesels di natin pansin yung effects pero dito sa crdi kitang-kita natin ang deterioration ng performance.
Yun nga bale ang nangyari, parang bang we bought an ultrasensitive car na inintindi pa natin na suppose to be it's the other way around, coz diesels are suppose to be workhorse. The main reason why diesels are popular in the isuzu trucks and pickups of late 90s, is bec. Yun na nga, drive and forget. Di gano sensitive, kahit maduming PUV diesel ok lang, kahit ordinary diesel engine pk lang.
my L300Fb lubog yan hanggang upuan during ondoy, I started it after 3 days of being submerged, nag-start.
Ngaun pinaguusapan, semi or fully synthetic diesel oil for CRdis, and then comes the issue of Euro complaint diesel fuel with the RON rating. Hayz too much unecessary info just to get from point A to B.
Dati ang marketing Pajero Fieldmaster sa PMS, 1,500 to 1,800 gastos as compared to the gas SUVs like crv rav4 xtrail gen1 na rig 3k to 4k. Now Crdi Pms can cost as much as what 8 to 12k
Kagaguhan na to ginagawa natin and come to think of it, we still live in the same place as was 10 years ago, travel the same route with our jobs, and enjoy the same leisure places as malls.

^ you don't have to spend a lot if you take your time and find out where to get stuff at cost. now that your warranty is over, you can supply the parts and consumables yourself to the casa if you prefer.
yup, CRDIs are harder to maintain in a sense because of the new techs that increase your FC and reduce your carbon footprint. however, i think its only the case here in the PH where our driving conditions are classified as severe. I bet the CRDis in European countries are having excellent reliability records.
about your SF, i think you can do something so you can be proud of it againmaybe using that HGMO oil that's below the CRDI oil spec requirement is taking its toll. And AFAIK, there are non-synthentic oils that meet the oil specifications.
in fairness di naman lahat ng post nya e out of this world. trip nya yun, it's the internet anyway so "be what you want to be, be the OB." consider it his way of making us smile. di lang naman siya ang nag-create ng personality na fictitious before.
Report ko lang, My Sorento had three minor warranty issues na.
First issue was the brake light switch. There are times my Push start button won't work, it will just go to accessories. I would just use the emergency start method found in the manual, then ok na. Had it checked at Kia Pasay, defect was due to brake light switch, which they replaced under warranty.
Second issue was my steering wheel started heading left a lot. I had it checked again at Kia Pasay and they rotated the wheels, checked suspension, turns out one of my wheel balancing weights fell out, so they replaced this and the misalignment is gone. No charge again.
Third issue is my fuel cap opener. It stopped working. I had it checked at Kia Pasay and turns out my push button mechanism is broken. Part will be replaced under warranty, but will take 3 weeks to arrive as it will be ordered from Korea pa. No charge on this again.
These are just minor issues which is likely the result of being such a hi-tech car. I am very happy with Kia PAsay service. They know how to treat a customer right. Two thumbs up!
