i know all diesel engines are under high pressure for the torque to be available at low rpms. i repeat, for me the sorrento is still a good buy...
CRDI ng sorento and hyundai starex ang alam kong parehas.. kaya kung may mga friends kayo na nakaCRDI starex na better ask them.. mas nauna ito lumabas ata eh
fyi all crdi engines have high pressure fuel lines. that's why they are called CRDI.
CRDi requires that you closely monitor fuel quality and replace all fuel system filters using the 'severe' interval to avoid fouling.
Better learn to accept these systems now because that is where diesel technology is heading.
Much like other manufacturers, Hyundai and Kia did not develop their CRDi system. They outsource it from specialist suppliers (e.g. Zexel, Bosch, etc.). I don't know who in particular makes theirs.
The benefits of CRDi include more power, better emissions and better fuel economy.

IMHO, in the SORENTO, you'll get more bang for your buck...
sad thing is, tinaas kaagad ng KIA yung price nya... if i'm not mistaken, 995k lang yung price nila noon for the base model..
the matatag ride or unforgiving ride pag bad roads can be remedied. there is OME available now for the sorrento plus springs that increase ride height.
i think kahit nagtaas yung price ng sorrento, it's still reasonable n competitive.
You 're right. Even with the price increase of 100K from intro price, it's still a good buy.Originally Posted by KCboy
The big question is : Can You Get One ? Ask around the Kia dealers and they will say the same thing to you: Wala pang stock, parating pa lang.
The next big question: How much na yung Sorento by then because I assure you it will not be the same price quoted to you now. Based on previous experience, they increase the price by 50K and they release a few units.
If its still a good buy and willing to wait, Buy it. Sa Columbia naman, ikaw na bibili dapat pasalamatan mo pa sila kapag nabigyan ka.

Femac (tama ba spelling ko?) Marketing has them in stock.
Wheels, too. But they don't stock LX CRDi's. Only EX's.
Columbian? I don't like dealing with those guys. Since all the models are imported, I'd rather visit the other dealers.

Hi Otep,
I am quite confused, is the CRDI engine of the Sorento using timing belts or chain drive? Got this link: http://p210.ezboard.com/fkiasorentof...picID=15.topic
Btw, got a Sorento CRDI 2.5 and Auto (with the Tiptronic feature) direct from South Korea much better than our local version got climate control third row and others... And also thanks to this thread it help me decide in going for the Sorento...
Might have problems having it serviced in local dealers, as of the moment having it serviced near our residence in a Petron Gasoline Station, oil filter is common with other Hyundai/Kia cars. Regarding the parts, a local car parts retailer has given me assurance that parts for sorento are coming already... So will just be looking for a reputable shop to have it serviced..
I am banking on the fact that hopefully problems(hopefully not) will start cropping up only after 2 yrs or hopefully later.. thanks again..

Ang out of stock are the diesel Sorento's. The EX gas is available anytime at P 1,520,000.00 which nobody wants.
When Columbia prices the diesel Sorento's out of the market, then they will have plenty of stocks. Baka igalang na ng Columbian Motors ang customer nila pag wala ng pila.
Toyota Fortuner rules!!!
I agree with you Carlove, I once visited 877 motors here in Cebu, and I was told the same thing - Diesel variants are not available. So I had no option but to go for the grey market... And got the Diesel Variant infact its model is the TLX....
according to a reliable source, grabe daw lumaklak ng gasolina ang sorrento na v6. totoo ba?
andy
Yes Luckytruck, that's very true in fact the 3.5 v6 Gas engine will just be in the ratio of 4 km / 1 ltr of gasoline, but if ur using it within city limits, you would be lucky if you can still maintain that ratio... That's why diesel sorento's are highly demanded...

3 Internal timing chains, 1 for camshafts driven by high pressure pump sprocket, other 2 for counter balance shafts, high pressure pump + oil pump driven by crankshaft sprocket.
Everything else driven by external drive belt.

Dave
