After a trip of 210 kms on a full tank of diesel with 3 liters of bio exceed thrown in. I was able to consumed 15.36 liters(after refilling,of course)![]()
That makes it about 13.67km per liter. I read it somewhere that the fuel economy will get better once the engine has been fully broken in.
As of the moment, I am getting about 8.65 kms per litr... usually city driving no long drives.. will try to do road trip 2 weeks from now, to check consumptions on long drives.. The mileage right now is 3100 kms... hopefully it will get better...
Btw, I dnt know if I am correct about this, but I was informed that adding bio diesel in crdi engine is not healthy. Any info about this? thanks...

SpinAxel,
It's great that I have somebody to talked when it comes to Sorento's... I have a bit of a problem, it's the owner's manual, mine is in korean, do you think you can provide me with a copy of your owner's manual and I will pay for xerox and freight... Your ride btw is CRDI Diesel 2.5 right? Thanks in Advance...
Gregg
The Kia Sorento's CRDI especially the TLX (Advanced Model having 145 hp instead of the normal 140hp) is basically the same engine of the Hyundai Starex which uses timing chains, here are the details - 3 Internal timing chains, 1 for camshafts driven by high pressure pump sprocket, other 2 for counter balance shafts, high pressure pump + oil pump driven by crankshaft sprocket.Originally Posted by carlove

Last weekend, my family and I had a beach vacation and traveled with our Sorento a total of 231 kms.,after making a full tank. Filled the Sorento again and had 18.78 liters in it. So given this data, I computed for the diesel consumption, resulting at around 12.3 kms/liter…
