I've had very little problems with my Sedona 2004 since we bought it second hand about 6 months(?) ago. Went to Tagaytay twice but most of the time, short drive lang from Paranaque to Makati cities.
2 days ago we went to our province in Tarlac, again there were not problems even after going home yesterday.
Today however, after turning it on, I heard a persistent squeaking sound coming from one of the belts. I opened the hood and the noise became a bit softer but after a few seconds it started this continuous squeaking sound again. I turned off the engine and inspected the belts, wala namang misaligned or eroded na belts. Inalog ko pang konti yung mga wheels nung belt wala naman maluwag.
I turned on the engine again and it disappeared. I was able to drive to work, will check if the problem returns this afternoon pag-uwi ko.
Ano kaya ang cause nun?

January 2nd, 2010 10:45 PM #2734I will check the actuator again if it will open the vacuum gate going to the aircon idle up module once compressor is on. When I tried to isolate the problem after repeatedly complaining this problem with Kia Pasay, the prognosis then was the idle-up diaphragm has leak.
Thank you and Happy New Year!

January 10th, 2010 04:38 AM #2736Hello mga peeps, I am new here and would to join in. Thanks and God bless this forum.

January 10th, 2010 09:32 PM #2737You can check on the following:
1. Check the fuse that's related to the solenoid that supplies and cuts of diesel engine to the Carnival's engine. There is a switch that supplies diesel to the engine when you start it. Once the engine has started, this switch(soleniod) cuts off the diesel supply as the fuel now comes from the injectors.
2. Check the starter. The copper contacts may be worn out.
These 2 things will prevent the carnival from starting BUT does not explain why the engine shut down after running for 10 seconds.
Either there is no electricity to start the engine (Starter) or there is no fuel for the engine to start. Since the engine turns every time you start it, the battery is ok. I hope this helps.
