Once the engine has started, this switch(soleniod) cuts off the diesel supply as the fuel now comes from the injectors.
    2. Check the starter. The copper contacts may be worn out.

These 2 things will prevent the carnival from starting BUT does not explain why the engine shut down after running for 10 seconds.
Either there is no electricity to start the engine (Starter) or there is no fuel for the engine to start. Since the engine turns every time you start it, the battery is ok. I hope this helps.
Ecport, maraming salamat sa inputs Bro, napa-andar ko na. Tama ka nagkaroon nga lost connection nga kaya nawalan ng koryente papuntang makina. Nilinis ko lang lahat ng connectors at mga fuse, ayun umandar. Huh.

I have a kia sedona 2003 (gasoline v6 engine) with 50k+ mileage. I bought it 5 months ago second hand at kia cebu and just used from office to home and vice versa which is around 10km round trip ride. The van was running fine but when I start the engine this morning I could hear a knocking sound inside the engine. Similar to a pop corn being cooked. The sound gets worst as you step on the accelerator. And the van has no power, after running few meters the engine stops. I had it looked by my neighbor mechanic and he said its the spark plugs but advised me to have it changed by kia since the tools used are different and I went to kia to have someone came over. The kia mechanic agreed that its the spark plugs and replaced it but the problem still occurred. They also checked the coils and the high tension wires, its ok but the problem still there. They checked the air in-take and etc. but the problem is still there. I ended to have the van towed back to my house. Anyone encountered a similar problem? Please advise how to fix the problem and shop recommendation. Thanks.

Yehey!!! My sedona is back and running. More than one month din ang pag repair. Yung main cause ng problem is nag loose tread yung bolt sa cam shaft pulley kaya nawala ang timing causing back fire. Pinalitan yung bolt at pulley kasi kinain din ng bolt. The worst part is kailangan bagkasin din yung mga valve at e setting uli.

You have to remove the wood panels first.

    1. Remove the ashtray, because the gap that it will leave behind is your leverage in removing the panel.

Some tips before starting: Make sure engine is not running and handbrake is fully engaged. because i often put the gear lever into "L" as to give you more space to work. This is for AT guys. For MT, put it into reverse. Also make sure you're doing this on a level surface so as to prevent the van from rolling down!

    2. carefully pry out the wood panel via the gap left behind by the ashtray.
    3. once removed you will see four phillips screws holding the 2-DIN stock headunit.
    4. remove these screws and pull out the head unit.
    5. you will need to take out two wiring harnesses from behind the head unit and the aerial antenna cable.

    that's it.

Hi, its been years since my last check-in. After a good repair, my car has been running very well, no smoke, very quiet engine, powerful so to speak. Two nights ago, on my way home, the engine stalled but recoverred til i reached the parking lot. I was about to make the last reverse to park then my engine concked out. May fuel, malakas battery, putok yung 10A fuse sa ignition, lower rigt most fuse sa Kias Sedona Diesel sa fuse box sa kick panel driver side. The following morning, nilagyan ko ng 10A fuse, umandar ng 30sec. then 10A busted again. i tried til 15 A, it lasted for 3 mins then busted again. Please help.

kelangang i-diagnose ng car electrician ang kotse mo.

wala na bang iba pang symptoms?

Hi, no other symptoms, i was able to diagnose that it can only be electrical because when i turn on the starter, i dont see the heater symbol preceeding it, the starter turns, engine does not kick-in. Everytime i change the 10A fuse it starts but not for long, just 1 to 3 mins then the fue blows again. i went up to 15A but wouldnt go beyond it, baka wires ko ma fry. he he he. The courtesy lights on the door panels goes off with the 10a fuse too.

fuseboxes or car manuals usually come with a diagram. what does the diagram say about the fuse? what items pass thru that fuse?
