Hindi yung Turbo ang nilinis kung hindi yung EGR na nasa dulo ng exhaust manifold. P2,500 yata ang palinis ko at 60,000 km na ang odometer ko nung linisin. Kasi noon e panay ang "idling" ko habang naghihintay, minsan e halos isang oras akong naka-idle dahil mainit sa loob ng sasakyan at sabi ko e mura lang ang "krudo" kumpara sa inconvenience ng mainit. Kaya lagi akong naka-idle at AC. Anyway, ang resulta noon e naipon yung carbon deposit sa EGR at kailangang linisin kasi uubo-ubo ang engine ko pag paakyat na at ang kapal ng maitim na usok, tapos e may loss of power ako.
Nuong malinisan na e ayos at okay na ang takbo. Kaya iniiwasan ko na ang mag-idle ng matagal.. Matagal pa rin kung tutuusin, pero di na ako inaabot pa ng isang oras...mga 10 min na lang at most ..Pero dinagdagan ko ang takbong mabilis sa expressway from Manila to Clark at pabalik para sunugin ang mga carbon deposits doon sa EGR. Ngayon 106,000 km na ang odometer ko at di pa ako nakakaranas ng plugged up na EGR.

Sa Kia Pasig (Amang Rodriguez Ave, dating Ligaya St) ginawa ito. P2,500 ang cost at walang parte na pinalitan. Panay labor lang ito kasi mabusisi at maraming kakalasin at labor intensive kasi ibababad pa nila para lumambot yung carbon deposit doon. One and 1/2 days inabot, pero worth it naman dahil parang brand new ulit ang takbo.

I have experience same as yours that I have to top up every now and then. The culprit is the injector washers.there seems to be a leaked. The motor oil went to the intercooler. I have it done at kia pasay.

the washer cost 127.25 each total of 509, labor for replace and install injector is 3250, replace and install intercooler is 1,000.00 for a total of 4,759

Hello fellow Carens owners... Mukhang naglqlabasan na problema.ng rides natin... Ako naman last Apr2011 pa-akyat Baguio parang same experience din ni DieselNUBI...Talaga avoid.na.lang natin idling as much as.possible...proven na salot(soot maker) kasi yan....

Lahat naman na diesel engine ay di dapat naka idle for extended time, kaso problema dito sa metro manila ay traffic congestion kaya di maiwasan talaga. Ang talagang dapat ay good maintenance ng engine, kaya sa mga turbo charged diesel engine lagi linisin ang exhaust system kasama dyan ang egr at turbo charger.. hataw paminsan minsan sa highway para ma itulak ang soots out to exhaust pipe.. mali ang lagi na lang puko puko ang andar ng makina..HTH

kaya madami na 'kong Accent CRDi taxi drivers na kausap....mga once or twice per year ang EGR/Turbo cleaning nila....

hi fellow carens owners, meron na ba nakapag change ng timing belt sa inyo.. what is the ideal milage for philippine climate. 80K ba is too soon or tama lang.. i'm planning to have it on my 80K sabay na rin ng serpentine belt, egr cleaning. Sa Kia alabang ba safe magpa gawa duon.. thanks in advance.

ser ilang taon na Carens nyo? i guess your best bet is to follow the Owners Manual. from what i recall though ang nasa Euro cycle ay around 160Tkm.... interval...kung Phil. condition siguro 100-120T km.... baka si ser Joshua_Ching pa lang ata nakakapag-palit ng T.Belt...

going 5 years na this June. alabang said it should be 80K in Phil climate coz its humid and dusty. i might go with 90K.. thanks.

Tama sir, they quote it at 11k, i just came back from China expecting that the solenoid valve has arrived, my father-in-law said it didnt came kasi they want us to give a downpayment for it, and my dad didnt pay kasi when he asked them if it will fix the problem of our carens but they also not sure

Yung nakakainis lang, mabilis silang mag sabi na turbo ang problema, that we should replace it, para bang they are doing short cuts na lang if they dont know the problem the only solution is to replace the turbo.

I think this is my last kia for now, dont get me wrong, the brand is good specially the carens but aftersales services sucks big time!!! kaya nga good luck na lang sa kia and chevy owners here in Bacolod, im sure when the mechanics cant find a solution to their car problem ay they will tell them that the vgt turbo is busted

ser Vinrem try mo lang muna pa clesn turbo and EGR... saka.i think u can demand for a free Solenoid valve... Use the KIA CAC memo i posted if u have to.

They already cleaned the EGR last month, anyways, i have found an interesting forum re my problem, in the UK, they call it engine surging, dami palang may problem same as mine, here is the link:

solenoid valve is free if under warranty and costs around Php 1.2k lang, i had mine replaced pero nung first few days lang nawala yung surging tapos bumalik na ulit, pero yung black smoke pag ni-rev e nawala

about that campaign 110011 software upgrade, i did ask for that in kia pampanga, unfortunately, hindi nila alam. kaya sir if ever napagawa mo yang sw upgrade na yan or anyone else here, please do share saan para mapuntahan ko thank you!

i experienced this same problem 2 years ago. after an ecu update at kia quirino ave. nawala na and never ng bumalik. still happy with the performance of my 2008 carens.

I also experienced this surging thing for the past few months pero nung nagpa update ako ng ecu last sept 2012 e totally nawala ito. Nalinis na egr and just last month, nilinis ko yung maf sensor. Ater i cleaned the maf, medyo gumaan ang takbo.

Binibirit birit ko pa rin ang carens ko and everytime i do this, lumalabas yung gray na usok. Suspect ko tuloy nanggagaling sa tambutso yung mga carbon deposits na nagpapaitim ng usok.

I decided to have my first "5k" pms and i have decided to have it done outside of casa for the first time. I already bought an oem oil filter (mobis) worth 650 pesos and 6 liters of Petron Rev x all terrian fully synthetic oil (2,820 pesos *470/liter sa isang autoparts seller vs 537/liter sa petron station mismo).

ser i never experienced (or noticed) this surging on our 6M/T Carens....saka kailangna din nga siguro every 2years siguro to clean the tail pipes with Joy Ultra+Water. hehe.

yan pa pala sabi sa akin ng SA ng kia, yung surging problem daw hindi dapat mangyari sa MT, problema kasi pag matagal na naitakbo, at least 1 hr, nawawala sya, hindi ko na ma-replicate pagdating sa casa

WOW!!!! PHP1.2k lang and they are going to charge me 11k!!!!! Tawagan ko bukas ang mga anak ng #$%&#^&^*&#!!!!!!!!

8km/liter rin ba ang city averages ng 6MT or A/T lang applicable? Nababasa ko kasi 8 ang average sa mga posts sa city driving pero parang puro A/T nababasa ko.
