NICE ride Bengmd.

My wife is driving kia soul here in the u.s. pansin ko lang pareho pala ng wheels ang carens and soul (painted in black lang yung sa soul, or baka mali lang ako) .

Btw, Got my carens last April of 2008 and 78383Kms na sya, so far aircon compressor (magnetic switch) lang ang naging problema , and napalitan naman agad ng kia e.rod since under warranty pa sya that time, till now wala ng naging problema even the turbo ok pa din and malakas pa din humatak. Regular lang ang cleaning ng EGR and 4500 or 3 months change oil na agad.

Dati ang laki ng hesitation ko sa Kia pero after 4 years and another kia soul, super satisfied kami and we are considering the 256Hp Sportage SX as a third car here in the u.s. (sayang walang crdi dito).

Thanks for the reply, had it checked na sa Wheels E.Rod, they changed na fluid "daw", I asked them if its PSF-4, oo lang sila. I asked them if they can sell some of them to me, sabi nila their PSF fluids are for dealer's use only and not for sale. Afterwhich, when I checked and dipped a tissue into the reservior to check if its a real PSF-4 fluid, its brown in color wherein it should have been green!! No ill effects whatsoever naman, but the squeaking sound is still there....

I tried to ask different CASAs such as Hyundai Greenhills and Kia Pasay, they are not using PSF-4 fluid. But instead they are using ZIC SP4 and Dextron 3 fluids respectively and both of them claiming that they have sought approval from the plant to use said fluids.

To cut the long story short, nde sila sumusunod sa specs na required ng manufacturer and its frustrating kasi nde natin alam kung anu pwede mangyari. I tried to look for suppliers ng PSF4 fluid dito sa Pinas and naweweirdohan sila sakin pag yung ang hinahanap ko na fluid, puro si Dexron 3 or ATF fluid lang pwde na daw. I eventually found out that PSF4 fluid is manufactured by GS Oil in Korea, sad to say it's official distributor of GS Oils here in the Philippines still does not have the said fluid for sale here in the Philippines.

Again, my squeaking issue was not solved by CASA and I doubt if it'll be solved without changing the parts... I'll try nalang if they can have the whole steering assembly replaced via warranty :p

check your cabin filter, make sure it's clean, if it's clean, check ur system for leaks, i advise go to CASA and have it checked, dami kasing reasons bkit nde lumalamig ang aircon. nangyari din sakin yan, luckily my problem is just a broken discharge hose, that's why the lamig part is not travelling to the other vents. sana yun lang ang sira, pero dami kasi pwdeng rason bkit walang lamig ang aircon. well just want to share that that was my experience, i hope ganun din yun sayo kasi madali lang palitan ang discharge hose, tapos recharge lang freom, then voila!ice cold again :-)

Hello guys, my mom is planning to get the high end ex model AT. Ask ko lang whats the fuel consumption of the matic carens? From what ive read mukhang minor lang yun issues with the caren like the normal wears and bad fuel. If youre gonna rate your carens from 1 to 10, what would be your honest score with your vehicle.

my best fuel consumption was 18km/l (highway driving) with average speed not exceeding 100kph. pag city driving 7-8 km/l (manila traffic and short distance travelling)

FC of my 2007 Carens EX/AT is 16km/Li (hway) and 7km/li (city). Because of the low ground clearance, I rate my Carens only 9! Note that cheap but reliable replacement parts (air, aircon, fuel filters) are available at auto supply stores in Alabang or Pasay. Furthermore, torque is exceptionally very very good!

So basically we are on the range of 7km/ltr for pure city driving. Actually my mom will be the one to drive it around the metro. Shes begging me to let her dri e again as means of her exercise and mental alertness, she wants to be mobile at her age and doesnt want to be driven by our driver. Im guessing the turbo boost is already adjusted to its highest. For the kia brand, we are still undecided between carens and soul. Among the 2, i just feel the carens is more useful and practical for her.

According to them it will be december of this year the new batch of carens will arrived. No one can give confirmation as to the present carens pa rin papasok or yun new body na. With this na turn off na mom ko sa carens kaya mukhang we will end up with the soul

Same as what other casa told me... the current Carens will no longer be available, I was told that the refresh / new Carens will be coming, but when? I have no idea, hopefully soon... within the year.

to anyone who is having the "change oil" done out of casa, do you replace as well yung "drain plug washer"? ngayon ko lang napansin na meron pala nun sa binabayaran ko dati sa casa, may specific size ba yun para sa carens o generic ? available sa mga auto supplies?

Ser pagkaka alam ko malakas ang vibration especially when starting fm zero. Kasi yung spring/damping effect to cushion ang torque surge ay sira na. So i've seen many forums of BMW and Volkswagen opting.to change to Solid Flywheel. Ok dahil dapat in theory mas tatagal na sya Pero u do sacrifice some refinement in terms of NVH.
