    owners, patanong naman:

-- kumusta ground clearance ng carens? ok ba, kahit fully loaded? i noticed that it's not quite as high as, say an innova

-- any difficulties sourcing parts(not from casa)?

I've been hearing that a lot of Carens have had turbo problems and the turbo had to be replaced.

so far 2 years na carens ko( 25000km mileage) wala pa problem vgt ko. i rigorously follow cooling down procedure sa turbo before shutting off the engine specially after long highway driving.

mine is almost 3years, and around 34T km. and i don't even have turbo timer... Turbo is just fine... it should be kasi its the newer design using water cooled system..... so it works in conjunction with the oil lubrication.... so IMHO parang di na kailangan turbo timer....pero it still pays to be diligent in doing a cool down after a spirited high speed run...

normally what i do i just "hinay hinay" in the last 5mins....when nearing home. also u can leave it for 1min. then patay.... no problems what so ever..

If possible, avoid KIA. Dami naming naging problema dyan. And to make it worse, ang baba pa ng resale value.

If outside casa, ano ano po bang scope of works ang inlcuded sa 80K kms PMS? any recommended car shops in the South that specializes in CRDi? Many thanks

I think being in the market for 5 years already, availability of parts won't be that hard to find. Si Fronte (Old Banawe) and Goodgear (Pasay) Sister companies sila actually, sila yung mga kilala pagdating sa Korean cars, kasi isa sila sa mga matagal na nagpapadating ng pyesa. Yung mga hard to find parts subject to order, pero yung mga consumables like oil/fuel/air filter, brake pads, lagi yan sila meron. They're also not expensive! They have good mechanics too!

    Guys,

Update on my PMS so far:

25T kms PMS at Kia Mandaluyong (Signet) Sept 14, 2010
    Labor 1,360.00
    Oil Filter 610.00
    Cotton Rags 12.00
    Engine Oil 1,200.00
    VAT 392.04
    Sandpaper 20.00
    Mighty Bond 65.00
    TOTAL 3,659.04

Tires were also rotated, all underchassis/ supension bolts re-tightened (nawala yung slight kalampag sa front-left portion), dome light switch repaired (thus the Mighty Bond)

After 2 years & 9 months, all in all, still very satisfied pa rin sa performance ng Carens. FC is at 8-9 km/l at city driving & 10-12 km/l at long drives.

Hope this help other owners on the PMS cost.

That depends on you as a car owner. If you seldom use your vehicle, a 6-month schedule should be reasonable. Regular use...I would think a 3-month schedule is ok. Heavy use meaning high mileage, 5000 km schedule.

I follow a 5000km PMS schedule which is around 6-7 months cycle.

Need to be replaced daw, 30KM pa lang carens namin...

Napansin kase namin, may parang umuugong kapag tumatakbo, nawawala na lang kapag 90kph or maybe 4th gear up.
