yup, yan ang pinagkaiba nun 2007 vs 2008 models. Dagdag ko lang yung exhaust, yung 2007 meron chrome cover. dun naman sa alarms ng LX models, pwede talagang magkaiba bawat dealer. EX lang talaga ang merong factory installed alarm (installed by KIA). Locally installed by the delear lang yun sa LX.

ang suggestion kasi nung SA namin last november was get one as soon as possible, although ayaw nila sabihin, pero madaming inalis sa 2008 model. so we got ours 2nd week of november. as far as i can tell, you can tell if its 2007 or 2008 depending on the footbrake, if it has a hand release, its 2007, if its using the foot release its 2008. check nyo rin yung engine cover if it still has the silver coloring, sa 2008 wala ng silver, all black na yung plastic engine cover. medyo pansin ko rin yung kulay ng instrument panel, black sa 2008, gray sa 2007.

Bakit ganoon iba-iba?

as early as november, meron na silang 2008 model, especially sa black since mabili yung black na LX (3:1 daw ang selling ratio ng LX vs. EX) so probably medyo halo-halo na yung unit mo.

regarding dun sa window plastics, hindi ba color keyed sayo? im not talking about the side mirrors, check mo yung plastics sa door, sa nakita ko na black LX na 2008, the plastics on the door (hindi mo na siguro mapapansin yung plastic kasi kakulay na nung body) is the same color as the body.

Hold on a sec... can someone summarize the differences between the 2007 and 2008 models please? What exactly were removed and/or added in the 2008 model as compared to the 2007 model? From the above posts, the two most irritating removals would be the illuminated keyhole and the rear cabin light. Although in the display models that I saw, I noticed nawala nga yung rear cabin light but i think the keyhole was still illuminated? Please summarize - this would be highly appreciated.

Waahhh, daming nawala ah. I think what they meant about the cargo light is that tiny light sa side ng cargo area, this is very helpful when you are loading cargoes or items during night time.

Exactly! I really can't imagine why Kia would remove such a minor yet useful accessory in its Carens? I'm sure having a small pilot light at the side cargo area doesnt cost that much for Kia. In fact, having it removed from the Carens would probably entail some expense as well!

As someone else mentioned much earlier in this thread regarding the illuminated keyhole, I would not really wail about this if I didn't know that this feature was standard before! But, knowing that it was actually there before makes it all the more frustrating.

Yeah, new buyers like me! You're right, it might have been slightly more understandable if they didn't have a price increase. I would think that together with a price increase, they would either maintain the current offerings (in terms of accessories and trims) or actually add more features.

I guess Kia discovered that its Carens really doesnt have any real competitors in its price range and in its category, except for the Innova. And, they're taking advantage of that knowledge...

OR, if I want to be optimistic about it, it's also possible that the costs are increasing and by trying its best to maintain its prices, Kia has to slightly increase its price and take away some minor features...

kaya nga din napaaga yung pagbili namin, we were planning to buy it this feb 2008, pero sabi nga nung SA, magtataas sila ng either 10% or 10k (buti na lang 10k lang.) I remember nag post si ace8tan (tama ba?), yung taga Kia Signet sa mandaluyong, sabi nya meron pa daw units na old price pa rin, i'm assuming he's talking about the 2007 models, inquire nyo na lang.

oo nga, malaking bagay yung light sa trunk nung carens, i couldn't imagine loading stuff at night without that light, ang maganda pa nun, may switch yun, so you can turn it on and off at will. bad trip din yung ilaw sa glove box, ang laking convenience kung meron nun. na check nyo rin ba kung inalis yung light sa coin holder?

OT: bilib talaga ako sa CRDi ng Hyundai/Kia, may nakasabay akong Santa Fe sa NLEX kahapon, i tried outrunning it, pero ako yung nilusutan at iniwan!!! Normally ako yung lumulusot at nang-iiwan sa mga Fortuner at Innova eh (sila kasi madalas kong kasabay sa NLEX eh), this time around I got a dose of my own medicine!

I bought the chromes from my Kia dealer at Pasay wala kasi ako time to go to Malate so I have it delivered dito sa Quezon province, Total amount is approximately P8,500 for Door handle, Tail and Head Lamp cover and side mirror excluding shipment.

Mga sir mukhang medyo naghalohalo nga ah between 2007 and 2008 and I only knew this when I read the above post msg. I would assume that new model should be better than the previous one hindi yung binabawasan.

Mine is LX MT, 1st week of Dec 2007.
1. Keyhole is not illuminated
2. My foot break can be dis-engage by hand.
3. My keyless remote is the same as J_Avonni.
4. Mine does not have Cargo lights at the side, but has ceiling light at the 3rd row(slide control).
5. My control panel is gray.

dun sa brochure pati dun sa test-drive unit illuminated key-hole tapos nung kukunin na namin unit I just notice nung nasa bahay na na hindi illuminated, kaya medyo bad trip din ako nun. I mean, ok lang naman na walang key illumination ang nakaka asar e meron dati, tapos tinanggal. Ngayon ko lang nalaman na meron din palang cargo light at glove compartment light yung iba, tsk tsk... unfair! namention ko na sa signet to dati pero wala din nangyari.

Test-drove an LX manual model. Nice torque/power. Bought the 2008 EX model A/T aqua-blue. I am greatly satisfied with the power, comfort and safety feature of my KIA Carens EXCEPT for the AUTOLOCK mechanism. Unlike the Carens LX model or the Sportage, the Carens EX won't automatically lock/unlock the doors when you start/turn-off the engine. and if you forget to lock the doors, it also does not automatically lock when the car speed reaches 40-50 km/hr as vouched for by their sales people. Moreover, Alarm is armed only after 30-45 seconds unlike my old Toyota Revo and Honda Civic whose alarms are armed almost instantaneously upon pressing the lock remote. Haaaay... apparently, you can't have it all!

Wow, it's really awesome to see that speedometer doing more than 140 kms/hr without even reaching 3000 rpm! THAT is power.

You know? Every time I see new pics of the Carens in a particular color, I end up loving that color! Bro bogart, red looks awesome! Hehehe. I really have to get my Carens already... otherwise, I'll go just crazy trying to decide the color that's right for me and my wife.

hi sir magnus, try mo yung LOW sa 0 lang then yung MID and HIGH +6. Pag medyo kulang ka sa BASS and pareho tayo model ng JVC, meron yang Super BASS setting, dun mo na lang adjust
