Napaabot ko sya ng 160 kph nung wala pang speed limit sa NLEX, though I know someone na nakamatic din na D-Max na napaabot ng 170 kph.

mine starting at 140kph, starts to puff black smoke. but sometimes if i ease up to 110kph then start to speed up again even beyond 140kph, no noticable smoke na. 145kph lang kaya ko - maingay na kasi makina. 1200rpm, redline na.

another good thing about the dmax we should remember is that is not only has a top speed of upto 160-170kph, its acceleration is also good. hindi ako mahabol ng mga taxi. i think someone even mentioned, dmax can also outrun / out accelerate some old 1.6l.

have you tried any other shops besides isuzu casa to take a look at your problems.
i changed my headlight bulbs to vision plus, no moist forming naman inside.

i will soon try to have my aircon cleaned by my favored aircon shop at fernando ave, marikina. still observing if they service newer cars and other dmaxs'.

another problem. my headlights seemed to moist when exposed overnight sa labas.

Di kaya may crack/basag headlights mo?

ian, did you change your bulb? if yes the rubber at the back of the headlights might not been properly returned. if it is properly returned there might be minute crack on you lights for moisture to form.

nope. didn't find the need to remove those- nor never had to replace the headlamps either. this happened to my 96 civic too. apparently, when both vehicles are sitting on the garage, headlight exposed nearest to the wall where there's an opening, accumulate the alleged "moist"...

will be posting pictures later.

another thing is that my tail lamp seemed busted. somehow it becomes loose. happened to me twice. very recently, i changed my bulb though the old ones seems to work...

kurt, never. i don't even bring the truck to the casa anymore. mahal maningil. saka one time, may pinagawa kami dun, naayos yung problema kaya lang may ibang nasira saka di pulidong gumawa. as much as possible, kapag kaya, kami na lang ang gumagawa.

anyone here na nakapag-check/adjust ng valve clearance?

so far, matipid naman yung DMax namin. averaging 12-13 km/L city driving.

My service Dmax arrived yesterday (it was a hand-me-down sa office....its a car plan). I'm now an official Dmax user na (was previously a frontier user). It's a silver 4x2 late 2004 model with about 20,100 km on the odometer when it arrive yesterday from Cebu.

Plans for the ride:

1) Improve the turning radius...hindi ko type at masyadong makitid...will inspect it baka kaya pang i-increase.
2) Inspect if I could install a Manual Boost Controller (DIY lang ang plano ko).
3) Start ipon and canvassing for a turbo timer.

Before that ipapacomplete washing ko muna today para maalis ang sea water salts na dumikit during its travel here.

observed something. may gap sa upper portion ng headlight. pero baka lagyan ko na lang ng sealant.

yung panel lights na lang ang problema ko.

what is the purpose of a turbo timer?

Malapit na mapudpod tires ko. Anyone tried using other tire brands aside from Bridgestone on their D-Maxs? I heard Yokohama is "softer". Thanks.

I've tried bridgestone dueler A/T's and now I have Dunlop Grandtek A/Ts. I like the dunlops better because of the softer ride I felt, but generally there is a common concern on its tread life, it wears out pretty fast. Not sure if this is a meaningfu feedback for you, I'm not very technical when it comes to tire comparisons

by any chance..does anybody know if the DMAX 4x2 have a speed limiter sa ecu nya?

nagulat kasi ako...ang bilis naman nya paakayatin to 160kph...pero gapang na ito after that....topspeed ko lang was barely 165kph siguro....diin na ako gas pedal...ang rpm wala pa sa red line (nearly 3900).

has anybody run it to 180kph with its stock wheels or no upgrades?

Yessss!!! Nakuha ko rin dmax ko. Nahabol ko pa yung isa sa mga last units ng LS sa Toyota Alabang. Ayaw na ayaw ko kasi yung LX, masyadong api even if you save 50K. Problema lang di ko pa mailabas, wala pang plate number.

Well, dun muna ako sa carnival ko habang waiting.

pede mong ilabas, hihingi ka lang ng LTO permit they issue a 7 day permit. which you re-new lang until the plate is released. Slow kasi ang LTO sa plate (problem on their side) so they have this LTO permit thing...it should be free. Ask it from your casa to arrange it.
