hello. i'm a newbie dmax owner so please bear with me.

i have two questions.

1. i read sa manual you have to step on the clutch before starting the ignition (even if the pickup is on neutral). is it really necessary?

2. when starting daw a deisel engine like dmax, we have to wait several minutes for the engine to get warm before driving it? how long exactly? and gaano katagal di napa andar ang pickup before performing this 'ritual' again?

thanks talaga sa tulong and sorry if medyo 'dumb' ang mga questions ko. if there are also links to websites na me tips how to take proper care of my dmax, i'd really appreciate it.

First, welcome and congratulations! Always remember na walang maling tanong and this is what this board is for. Now to answer to your queries:

1)

Not necessarily. I'd say it is suggested in the Owner's Manual to address the general market as an added safety step prior to starting the vehicle. (assuming tranny is engaged and not in neutral)

2) Yes, normal operating temp is expected to be reached in around 5 minutes from starting the vehicle. In the event that you need to immediately depart, make sure you do not exceed 2,000rpm until you reach the normal operating temp.

You want to race you pick then ito ang mods na gawin mo.

Speedlab's unichip is proven to add hp and torque, they have dyno results to prove it, and improved fuel consumption is the added bonus to it.

It would be a treat if IPC could bring the Dmax with the VGT from thailand, as of now kasi I think fixed turbo lang naka install ngayon sa local Dmax and Alterra units..

If the units here are the VGT equipped, I'll forget about "RACING" against it.

yes it add hp and torgue but ilan lang, and also fuel consumption yes sabi nga nila meron daw nabawas but ask this na dagdagan nag hp bumulis ang sasakyan tumipid pa???? sounds like ???? but dont get me wrong my triton is one of the most mod dito sa thailand my dyno clock 245 hp but it is not only the chip. What im saying is? there are some guys na naka pag lagay nag chip and they think their truck is a race car na or madaming nag sasabi na malakas ang makina nila at mabilis, our trucks are not build for racing it is mainly use for hauling. what ever other people say when it comes to deisel engine isuzu is the best. Aminado ako dito even na mitsu baby ako. Wag kayo maniwala nag basta basta sa chip i have tested and used several chip for the engine, for the injector, for the commonrail(CRDi), for turbo boost and for throttle boost. Using chip need an equal engine parts is needed. This is true i have 5 computer chip installed in my truck. chnage my turbo and inter cooler, oil catch can, intercooler pipe, exhaust manifold intake manifold, full suspension and almost enlarge my injector. MY truck runs 0 to 100 in less than 15 seconds.

But in the end tinapon ko lahat nag mods went back to stock, you know why? because it is all use less. My truck is use for city, offroading, hauling my MTB's, family anf friends outing.

installing a unichip means tuning it and the car. added hp and torque gives you a much improved power-to-weight ratio.

i do have one installed on my car (not a truck though), and you can notice the gains not only on the dyno sheet but also in the gas pedal. i did say better fuel consumption despite of the added power, my car was able reach a higher figure in terms of distance travelled after adding the unichip. same driving conditions, same driving habits.

if in other's case kung hindi tumipid after adding such a mod, im sure they just cant resist the joy of putting more pressure on their gas pedals.

Hi guys, long time no post. How are your trucks doing? Mine, just 3 more months to go and it's already 2 yrs old. So far so good.

I was back reading this thread and I smiled when I saw the post of metal_rosie1973. This is a kind of person where driving is always a race and he thinks that there is always an award waiting for him at the end of his destination coz he outran all the cars with his "fast" vehicle or pickup.hehe This person is no different from those PUBs or PUJs gunning the road thinking that they are in a race track just to get ahead of everybody to get passengers.

I don't know with those people. They will buy a pickup and then they would think they are in a race car.

Weakest pickup? Nah! Maybe just a weak driver.hehe

[SIZE=3]Inconsistently but most often, the section where there letters/number is located is heating (or hot), appx 60 degrees Celsius. During my first PMS, they checked it and found no problem. [SIZE=3]I can feel the HP of my car goes up and down; I use the INST mode in the dashboard for monitoring the instantaneous fuel consumption as my basis for HP monitoring. During initial acceleration or slow driving, if the HP is high, typically the value does not go down to 4.0 Km/L. But if the HP is low, sometimes the values go as low as 1.8 Km/L. What on earth is going on!? I even tend to believe that using a SCALAR energy magnet in the engine will balance the supernatural energies that can enhance the HP..Toink!… [/SIZE]
[SIZE=3]My friend told me that the horse power is affected by the weather condition, air temperature affects burning of fuel. I agree since hot air has less oxygen available on per cubic measurement, but should it really affect the HP? [/SIZE]

Thus, the torque converter efficiency in transferring the force from engine to the wheels lowers down. But if this is happing only to my unit then temperature issue shouldn’t affect the HP and ability to shift rapidly. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=3]After all the research and study with regard to fuel efficient driving style, I only got 6.5 km/L (90% City traffic driving )up to 8.3 km/L (70 % City traffic driving). I typically pass traffic congested area, from Global City to Pasig and vice versa, kindly “feel” the level of the congestion during rush hour. DMAX should be better than this right?[/SIZE]

[SIZE=3]I usually use Caltex Diesel; it gives me better HP compare to other providers. Better HP gives me better fuel consumption because it makes gear shifting faster. BUT!!! I realize when I do full tank; the color of the fuel is white due high amount of air present on it. The Fuel Crew needs to wait for few seconds for the fuel to shrink so he could add more fuel and have to repeat for four times. Is this normal!? How about other fuel providers? [/SIZE]

for no. 1 - this is practiced to reduce the drag on the starter when you start the engine. but in my opinion. as long as you check that the tranmission is in neutral then you don't have to step on you clutch here in the philippines setting. probably unlike other countries were it's cold or snowing. the oil and gear oil may become thicker. therefore more drag.

no. 2 - you don't have to wait 5 min to drive your car out. but as mentioned earlier. be easy on the pedal. 1-2 mins is fine. this is just to make sure that your oil pressure is up. and that oil has completely circulated inside the engine. again due to our climate being tropical. it does not take much time for the engine to heat up. unlike colder climates.

most important is to know the oil raitng you need for your engine. with my wife's fuego. it states to use oil rated cd. i'm sure for your engine the recommended oil is rated at cf or cf-4. you will see this on the back of the oil container. so the next time you buy oil. check the rating behind. cheapest oil now a days is rated at cc. this is for older engines like the ones passenger jeeps use. next is cd, cf, cf-4 and the latest is cg.

Do you see a hood scoop on the hood? From my vantage point, wala. Ergo, non-VGT model eto. So it should be the same model as what is currently being assembled and sold here.

Yes, these "DUBBED OUT" street trucks are nice to see.... as a display but as we all know, setting up your truck like this will not work here. Baka palabas pa lang ng Paranaque, warat na kit at pang ilalim nung pick up na ginanyan.

Objectively looking at it, yes, it's a fact that not everything in the D-Max is "top gun".... and so are some features from other brands. But that is what competition is all about. Know your weaknesses would push you (manufacturer and end user) to aim for the next level higher.

Yes, you are correct that the ISUZU Trooper was the 1st to locally introduce the commonrail technology (aka CRDI) here in the Philippines.... to bad it was way too advance at the time of its prime when the local diesel available here had just too much sulfur content that it had adverse effects on the Trooper's fuel system. Oh well.....

In closing, yes, it'll be interesting if ISUZU Philippines could actually negotiate with Thailand for a good price and bring both the D-Max's 4JK1 2.5L CRDI and VGT versions.

Is the one in highlight the one you are referring to?



It should work everytime you turn on the aircon. So if not, better have your suking ISUZU dealer check it for it may need replacement.
