Don't be misled. Mine LS model A/T 4x4 but not crdi mixed driving hi-way and city driving averages 8 kms/li. I really dont believe those owners claiming 12 up even on M/T tranny or per company's promo! And I don't consider either the FC and speed in buying this truck. It's all about durability and toughness.
Hope it helps.
I don't belive those claim by sales agents and fuel economy run conducted by the company. But I do have personal experience with the economic fuel consumption of IsuzuSir my brother's trooper runs about 10kms/liter and his crosswind runs about 12kms/liter city driving, same case for my GF's crosswind. I think its possible, I've driven their isuzu alread and I got the same results as they claim
I didn't know that Dmax has the non crdi version. Is this the first Dmax back in 2005?
Thanks!![]()
Sorry to disagree juneljrGLS'05. Mine is a '05 manual 4x2 and the first time I ran it on its break-in period from Dumaguete to Bacolod (four hour trip), running below 80 kph all the way, incredible as it may seem --it hit 17 km/liter! That's four of us with luggage good for a two-day stay.
Of course after that, with my heavy foot averaging about 100 to 120 kph on our small provincial roads its safe to say that it still averages 12 to 13 km/liter on h-ways. Not bad for a 3 year old non crdi, 3.0 diesel engine. Sa city driving, I would agree with you though--about 8 to 9 km/liter
Compared with the new crdi Dmax engine? I would assume the new one to be better (fuel consumption) by at least 5%![]()
So far 12.5 km per liter, daily normal driving habit along Aguinaldo Highway in Cavite.
When I went in my province, I checked it when I arrived in my destination, it registered 12.3 or 12.5. When I arrive home and I happen to check the reading, it registers the same. With that, I assume that reading is for both highway and city. What I do is always reset the Trip reading and gauge the km reading. The most that I had was the break in period. If I could remember it clearly, it even reached more than 1000+ kms in 1 full tank. I couldn't do it anymore, though.
FYI its possible to reach 12-14 ki/li..based on my experience my max got 25 ki/li but not on a normal driving..non crdi pa..tipid mode talaga..this is official..from isuzu alabang to matabungkay..because i joined isuzu challenge..walang daya whatsoever..i think if your engine is in good condition..kayang kaya 12 ki/li on a regular basis..tinalo pa nga kami ng alterra a/t naka 28 ki/li..
I have a friend that claims that his new Dmax 4x4 with turbo-intercooler can run 40 km/L in a Isuzu sponsored econo-run compitition in Bacolod. And said its the record holder daw in Philippines....
anybody can confirm kung may ganito ba talaga na compitition?.. and is that possible 40+Km/L sa new Dmax? if its true the![]()
We'll hinay hinay lang mga boys...medyo nawawalan na ng sense ang usapan na ito. Too talk too much on fuel comsumption is senseless. Lolz..... again i second the motion yun sinabi ni "rna800" 12.3 to 12.5 mix city and highway driving. Ako din kc ganun ang FC ko minsan i can reach 12.6 pa nga eh. Tama na yan talkies about Isuzu challenge wala tayo mapapala jan.![]()
well... st_omach, Im just verifying kung may ganung compitition na ginagawa ang Isuzu.. and you are right wla tayong mapapala dyan.. infact I insist that its bloody impossible in isuzu Dmax ... I think that Isuzu challenge is just a marketing strategy if ever meron man..
sorry sa senseless post here sa thread nyo..
talked to a friend also that he was planning to join the econo run of Isuzu. I guess the econo run is true but I don't have the details on the consumption of the entries.
guys! i need help. i wana change my shock absorber sa dmax ko to a rancho 9000x, 9000XL or rancho RSX. but i dont know what model would fit sa dmax ko. do you have any idea on what model of Rancho 9000 series would fit sa dmax natin?
Guys, I noticed that there is a "twik" sound in my truck while it's running. It's a hiccupping sound. Nevertheless, I don't find anything weird with how it runs. That sound happens at low and high speeds like 100 to 120. Sometimes even from 1st to 2nd gear I could hear that sound already. Also, when I was driving along Star tollway yesterday, I noticed that it made this squeaking sound - sounds like a fan belt sliding. I notice that mostly on old cars like when you start it the morning, you'll hear that whistling/squeaking sound coming from the engine bay. Not the high pitched sound but it's like the "chhuuwaaaahhh" sound. It's long and it's loud. I even got startled when I heard that. It didn't sound anymore on my way home, though. What do you think are those sounds?
I just wanna share this too. I went to Mimosa last Sat. and on my way home, around 4am, I tried to really put the pedal to the metal in NLEX after the toll gate. I noticed that once it reaches 160 to 165, the speedometer would already slow down and slowly inching its way up. I really didn't wanna run at that speed but the bus behind me provoked me.hehe At first I was running 100 then 120 then 140 but he was still at my back wanting to overtake. So I said, let's see if you're bus could run at 160. I didn't see him anymore after.hehe However, I to my surprise, this 4x4 hilux was trailing me and even overtook me. I had a great time driving with him at such high speeds. I couldn't lose him but he couldn't lose me either.
Maybe those challenges are true but the thing is what are the unspoken details on how they achieved those. Like the one from Pagudpud so Sorsogon (correct me if I am wrong on this with regards to the places) challenge. I could only speak from Manila to Pagudpud (back and forth) since I have tried driving there with my other car. When I drove my way up there, I needed to gas up in Ilocos Sur (full tank). On my way back, I gas up again in San Fernando, La Union. I drove max around 130 kph and of course, always, downshifting to overtake cars. The thing is, it makes me wonder on how they did that with just 1 full tank with such a lengthy journey considering that they will pass in Metro Manila down to SLEX. There are so many questions bogging me like how many days did it take, what time of the time, did they have police escort to direct traffic, such and such... Same with the short journey challenges. Oh well, maybe that 40+ kms/liter was really achieved but perhaps it was done during the wee hours and at a speed of around 40 kph.
