My max used to reach 150-160 kph easily when the size of my tyres was just 235/R15 but when I have it changed to 265/75/R16 medyo mahirap na abutin ang 150kph.

sir, unit ko is 2007 Global Dmax LT and FC niya mixed highway and city driving (Mon to Fri highway and weekend city) is 14 km/liter, also, i'm using 255 70R15 Falken tires, ODO ko ngayon nasa 4000+ Km, hindi ko lang alam FC nang LX, maybe somebody can give you the data for comparison, FYI.
naka 265 na pirelli AT. confimred the speed of 140-145kph via nokia phones gps. coz i heard na speed reading will be affected with change of tire size. pati pala actual speed i lost 10-20kph. i recall ang official top speed ng gen1 dmax is 99mph (isuzu uk website).
yun bago dmax (for both 2.5 3.0 litre engines) 108mph top speed. engine model not mentioned assume one of them is the 4jj1.
i think there is still about an inch of space pa with the accelarator pedal. possible to go faster but hirap na. parang 140s limit coz going to 140 steady and even after that parang nag hang sa 140, i constantly increased pressure on the gas pedal. next time i use the subic-clark hiway i will "put the pedal to the metal" maybe the dmax will go faster with fully open valves or something.
thanks
Is this usual guys, from empty gas of my dmax LS 05 4x2 matic, filled up 1500php.. Umabot almost half sa gauge, then sandali lang approx. 45-50kms, 1/4 na lang yun gas.. Malakas ata sa crudo ang dmax ko????
Mine is a 4x4 LS A/T that's my question too it could reach to a top speed of 150 kms/hr pero hirap. I'm using 275x70x16 perilli scorpion AT. Calling to all auto tranny there whether 4x4 or 4x2 ganyan lang ba talaga top speed ng rig natin? Tho' I understand my rig is for farming use and city use at the same time! TIA.
I tried to run at around 155 in NLEX last week. All stock, 5 persons and about 400 lbs of luggages. I could feel that it could still give some more but I just didn't want it anymore. It was raining that night so I didn't want to challenge fate. Baka mamaya bigla kaming mabura sa mundo.hehe
With mine, 1/4 tank would give me around 100+ kms depending on my driving and traffic. Sometimes it even reaches 200 to 240 kms if I stay at around 80 to 100 kph.

Hi guys.. finally Im back.. miss ko na talaga Dmax threads... Guys baka meron sa inyo interested ng stock Grille ng 08 dmax. yung chrome -plated. nag palit kasi ako ng grille and sayang yung original kung hindi gagamitin... just give me ur best offer.
thanks
1 factor na mahina ride is the size of the tire... the bigger the rubber the more the car has to pull and mabigat sya patakbohin.. also kung A/t ride nyo usually hindi cya aabot ng 140+ kc 4speed at lang yan... and another also is the maintenance.. just folow the company prescribed time to change oils, filter, etc... and also the tune ups...
na compare ko rin my cuzn dmax na always ginagamit na long drive and ours is just used mostly sa city driving... my cuzns dmax could go up to 120kms/hr in less time than it would take for my dmax to reach that speed... and my cuzns dmax could reach up to 160kms/hr and stock tires gamit namin lahat...
sir rwl777, maybe dahil sa A/t ride nyo and having half tank isnt enough to gauge the fuel consumption, maybe the time you gas up the ride was used mostly sa city or traffic... also, maybe you gas up during the time of day na mainit so the fuel would expand. i would recommend to fill the tank talaga and do some calculations the next time you gas up and be sure full tank ulit.. that way you could get a bit more accurate FC..
van and others >100,000 kms,nag palit nb kayo ng clutch et.al.? Lagi ko plano but cnt find budget for it. Yun clutch noise issue meron din ako. At dati
The OEM tires of our units are best recommended to fully optimize suspension efficiency and fuel consumption. This is the very reason why they are not oversized to wrong offsets. Change tire or rim sizes then expect differences in handling and fuel sipping so I guess the general rule is more weight, more consumption.
Unfortunately most of the time the problem are drivers who follow by the motto “Looks first, ask questions later”
We wish it could be that simple, especially in a pick-up truck wherein the default suspension is naturally hard to be able to compensate for the load you are expected to place in the pick-up bed.
Well that is if that’s what you bought your truck for.
Countless times I hear owners (including me before hehe) whining about how they lost power, got a harsher ride, have weaker brakes, lack of acceleration, etc all because they changed either to larger tires or larger/wider rims. The answer is right there in front of us: ADDED WEIGHT.
I learned this the hard way last year when I got wider rims (8.5 inch width). Aside from the regular artwork of mud and dirt plastered on both sides, because the offset was waaaay out, my suspension suffered some loosening which was acknowledged by unnerving knocking sounds upfront whenever I went over some rocks or bumps. The added width of course unselfishly added weight.
Now I was even on stock tires only, how much more if I got beefier tires then?
:twocents:
.
Question lang po sa Dmax owners.
May nasira na po ba na injection pump (VP44) sa inyo?
At what mileage did it happen?
Other causes if ever?
