Just wanted to share my long drive up north experience last Monday. The new SF3's ride was sporty but comfortable. The engine power was astonishingly strong and fast going through Kenon road, you can feel the the active safety controls SF3's traction control with the fast down rolls on Marcos Highway. I am impressed and more pleased that this SUV was taking care of its passengers safely and comfortably. I didn't feel any hesitation with the engine when running on steep hills more so overtaking. This is an honest opinion and without bias. I find the ride and power buttery smooth for a four cylinder diesel turbo, I am sure the VGT helped a lot. My folks even slept without any irritating comments. The ride is also more of a cruiser-touring type. Did not experience any rattles, the cabin was quiet. Note that Kenon has a lot of road works and bumps which the SF3 handled perfectly. Oh and the heated steering wheel and seats were my best friend during our trip to Baguio, it made it a lot comfortable. You will also notice that the body design and air flow during your fast highway runs really slick and slippery. My only comment is the poor visibility when backing up, I had to roll my windows down just to make sure. I have a darker shade tint so it also contributed to it. Although the back up camera and sensors were a great help and good thing it was standard; it helped a lot when backing up at night, CJH is poorly lit. I was also able to test DBC and Autohold worked perfectly as advertised, fast stop Braking was also good as it was responsive though you will feel the weight of the vehicle; it was sure footed nonetheless. My travel speed on fast roads were between 100 to 160, it can give more. I wanted to test it's top speed but I more cautious this time I don't want to get caught speeding again on the highway. What I have not tested we're the LDWS and SPAS, so kindly post your review on this.
To the new SF3 owners, you will truly enjoy your ride.
I also saw two SF3s on my way back to Manila exiting SCTEX and NLEX, both white.
*imperialv,*Tltan,
Have you experienced any torque steer with your new Sta. Fe's? In my former ride ( 2010 Sta. Fe 4X2 A/T) torque steer was quite evident when the gas pedal was abruptly depressed. Anyway, I have not observed any sudden pull (torque steer) either to the right or left of the steering wheel. Could this be due to the traction control which by default is always on? Thanks for your replies.
1st pms 1K KM, then the rest is every 5K KM..yan alam ko...so if Fully Synthetic oil... change oil filter every 5K km w/top up if needed..then 10K km change oil
sorry sir..read the wrong figures.
nasira daw yung burner nila..wala pa rin ako CD english manual... but thanks to sir snoid_zero... good pdf file.
my ride now is less than 700km...drove to Tagaytay today...i feel there is a lag in power...but kicks in right away that will have your body moving against the seats.
ride for me is a bit soft...but I can only compare it to my Sportage which is stiff in ride (maybe because its on 20s with 40 series tires).
SPAS works fine...ive tried it.. but can only be done if parallel on the right side.. on the left...hindi pwede.... LDWS works great..but it just give a tone when you go over the lane... it also has to sense the lane markings..so if wala markings..wala tunog...

I guess matatagtag sayo naka 40 series ka pala. Forester ko kasi is on lowering springs and 45 series kaya matatagtag, progressive springs kasi. So for me the ride of our SF3 is just right not too soft. I find the older SF2 much softer in my opinion. The lag is negligible for me I was expecting a bit more other than it is a diesel, but it really is subjective to the user. I cannot deny that there is a bit of turbo lag still but better response against the previous model without vgt. Yes, you will be pressed to the seat the SF3 has a torquey engine kasi turbo diesel.
So the SPAS only works on the right side. Interesting.. Also the LDWS.
*Green Hornet, I have not experienced torque steer on our SF3 probably because its 4WD. Even when I punch the accelerator pedal from a standstill. Then again I might not be feeling it much as the steering is soft and I am focused on the direction I want to go. Nevertheless, I have not felt any twitch left or right on hard launch from dead stop.
Does anyone know the model number of our oil filter? I probably would stock up on that. Planning to DIY my oil in the next change.
*imperialv, *Tltan.......onga. Thanks!!! Just got back from Nuvali iba nga talaga ang handling ng new sf.
Target ko sana is the 4x4, anyway, ok sana ang grey unit but the problem lang talaga with me is the Korean language MID..... kung english lang, no questions asked....
Anyway, anybody here knows any casa that allows test driving of the new Santa Fe? It seems that sa 3 casa napuntahan ko, they don't allow test driving. Sa Pitstop ba puwede?
*lui.. Confirm mo naman sa service nyo kung how much oil capacity ang 3rd gen sf? sa manual kasi 6.7 liters lang.
