    Hi Guys!

Just got our Silver Santa Fe yesterday! It's so nice and can't wait for break-in period to be over!

Anyway, where can I buy supplemental lock for the spare tire?

    Thanks!

    Hi Cardo.

I have the Superior Red SF & nasa mga 5000++ Kms na ang takbo.

We SF owners know that hard earned money ang ginamit natin lahat to buy our santa fe's... why not protect your paint and maintain its luster throughout the life of our SF's, diba... you said above, mahirap i-maintain and a lot of TLC is needed for the black & s.red and is a detailing nightmare... this is true if you have a wax that is also sooooo hard to apply... believe me, I have tried them all... Meguires, Mothers, Polyglaze..... lahat... THEY ALL DO NOT COME CLOSE TO ADAMS CAR POLISHES... Ang dali i-pahid, ang dali i-polish plus, protected from sun & rain ang paint due to its Butter Wax system with 68 SPF sun factor rating...

Guys, try nyo ang ADAMS CAR POLISHES... NasA 5,000++ KMS na ang tinakbo ng SF ko and walang swirl marks, walang fade-in, walang oxidation ang kulay dahil sa protection ng ADAMS CAR POLISHES. For me, Adams is 110% better than Meguires anytime!!! Ang dali ipahid and ang dali i-polish!!! They are new in the country and found in Handyman Robinsons car accessories area...

If you do not want to do it yourself, try nyo ang first shop ng Adams sa B. Serrano (formerly Santolan) in the Camp Aguinaldo area... Coming from Edsa Makati, turn right on Santolan, and about 100 meters on your left is a second hand car dealer named MKS... the Adams Pro detail center is inside the MKS Auto lot. A full detail on the Santa Fe will take about 4 to 5 hours lang to do... exterior, interior and engine na yon... Nasa mga P5,000 for the detail service and lasts about 4 months... maintenance is just the Adams Detail spray which you use every after wash in the morning or so... maintained ang kintab and streek free...

They detailed my "COLA" colored Santa Fe and used it for their model at the Tiendesitas car parade and my SF won the award "BEST IN SHINE & Beauty" thanks to Adams Car Polishes...

Mga co- Santa Fe Owners... YOU WONT GO WRONG... USE ADAMS CAR POLISHES ON YOUR SANTA FE'S (or any car, new & old, to that matter) ... SIMPLY THE BEST!!! If you wanna see more info, meron sila website... www.adamspolishes.com... SOLID GALING TALAGA & MOST IMPORTANT, GUSTONG GUSTO NG PINTURA NG SANTA FE ANG ADAMS...

I may sound like a fanatic of Adams, and to tell you so, I AM A FANATIC OF ADAMS... IT IS SIMPLY THE BEST FOR ANY CAR....

Guys, need your help and suggestion...

I want to retain kasi the original paint (i believe oven-baked ito sa planta and I don't think meron nito ang casa).

    2. Front bumper - konting punit at scratch sa bandang taas (where it is screwed sa body). Ganun din, parang ayaw ko papalitan to maintain the original paint.

Kay Centum an Isuzu crosswind kissed the butt of his SF. Then two weeks ago I saw in the casa a S. red SF sa front left side din. Nakakapikon talaga...

    hi safala,

sorry sa incident, kakainis nga ang ganyan, i remembered when i was driving my altis way back, 3 months old lang sya nun tapos na tamaan ng turnillo na lumilipad, cracked windshield. kahit napalitan, syempre iba na ang sealing ng sasakyan.

but anyway, kung may dent na yung hood, i suggest papalit mo na, ask mo nalang kung how they paint over the new panels, kasi if there is a dent, may masilla yan, and even if the other part of the hood is oven baked, yung part na may dent isn't and hindi parin papantay yung pintura at the point ng orig paint and yung pinatong.

thats my take, final decision is with you.

    emrs,

thats a nice shine!!! how much is the bottle of butterwax and polish?

maybe you can post some shots of the paint under a flourescent light?

pag nagdetail ako ng black explorer EB, its takes me a whole day to do a 3step megs - cleaner wax, polish and wax. pinakamahirap abutin is the roof haha! with our silver dmax, cleaner wax lang hehehe di na kelangan ng polish kase di naman halata masyado yun swirls.

Sorry to hear that safala...pansin ko nga na medyo accident prone ang SF natin. Yung case ko naman ay curious daw yung driver ng crosswind and drive near by my SF to catch a glimpse of it then finally lost control of his brake

They will apply masilya pa then paint it to match the color. May possibility pa na mag-crack ang masilya when it gets old.

i don't know but it's not the RPM (because i also watch it since higher rpm = higher consumption and it's useless in an automatic) that's making it feel faster. It's probably the frontal G-Force from dead stop to go which pushes you to the backrest of your seat.

Im a bit curious about a Supercharged SantaFe V6 though.
I'm aware of the VGT function... I'm an avid fan of Hyundai-Kia diesels.

What I mean is, diesels in general have a ton of torque, thus, off the line, they feel a lot faster than gasoline engines. But gasoline engines have an advantage at higher speeds, though they build power more gradually, thus they don't feel as fast. That's why 0-100 km/h times of diesels are often lower than we expect.

Old turbodiesels boost at lower rpms, but with more lag, and more taper off at the high end of the rev range. Hyundai's new VGT CRDis can be driven to the redline without fear of bombing. I still want one, but I'm waiting for the perfect car to get one in.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

In Manual mode, the SF's tranny will upshift if you forget shifting up when it's near the redline. Seems like a good idea to protect the engine.

Max Torque of 335Nm of SF is at 1800-2500rpm. Hence, i usually don't go over that. My thinking is that it'll be an utter waste of fuel to go beyond 2,500 since the max powerband is between 18-25. I only go beyond 2500 when at highest gear, gunning for 200kmh (around 3k+ rpm). Most fuel efficient run (again, in my thinking) is at 5th gear, 1800rpm. That usually translates to speed of around 100-110kmh.

My thinking might be wrong though so feel free to correct me (please do).

About Gas bldg up more power, maybe that's true (i'm not really an expert about these things). There was this BMW E46 325i back in Marcos Hway that tried to race me but never won (he was counterflowing the opposite lane). hehe. We started from the twisties in Katipunan (i don't know what's the place's name) but it's before the flyover in the Ateneo-bound side. This road ends up in Marcos Hway. He only managed to pass me when i slowed down to fuel up. hehehehehe. His 6cyl engine needs forced induction

Anyway, you are right, SF nor the Veracruz isn't the perfect one yet. Though the 2007 SF (aka SF-II) is a FAR and great improvement from the former SantaFe-I in Korea.

With SF i have some gripes:

    1. CRDi engine should've been mated to a 6-7 speed tiptronic. 5-speed, aside from ancient is also not efficient. I'd like to cruise at 180kmh, 7th gear, 1800rpm please. hehe.

    2. A 2.5L engine would be welcome.

    3. Freakin local model doesn't have cruise control.

    4. Stock rims aren't 18, only 17". It's just nice that the spare is same as the other 4 making it a set of 5.

    5. No sidemirror signal lights. High beam should've been projector too like the ones in Touaregs.

    6. No sunroof. No Spoiler. No rear foglight.

    7. and so on. hehe.

I loved the heater when we were in Baguio though. I only spent 500 bucks on fuel from Balintawak to Baguio i travelled around 323kms (i got lost in Pangasinan looking for a detour LOL!!!). When we entered Balintawak Tollgate, I realized that the fuel is only 1/4 (gauge has 5 increments). I loaded up 1000pesos from the first Petron and the needle went to 3/4. When we got to Baguio, needle is at 1/2 (a little above it but touching the 1/2 line). My first Baguio drive was pretty amazing.

    Then i realized, that's a 20km+ / L mileage.

it would be helpful if someone could post a graphical layout of the torque + HP rating vs rpm of the sta. fe

What happened to me is not really an accident.

Safala, if you can have it replaced, then do so. Malamang painted na yun from the factory so salpak na lang pagdating ng shipment.

Medyo nakakainis nga, kaya minsan pag alanganin ang parking ko or medyo sa madilim na lugar, i leave my parklights on.
