I just had a long chat with the service department of Hyundai E.Rod regarding development of moisture in headlights.
According to him, since the lens is made of plastic, the transfer of heat from the bulb combined with cold water from the rain can possibly form condensation, moisture sa headlights. He also stated that it happens not only to SF cars, but to all existing cars with the same design, materials used in modern cars in the market today. The important factor to observe when this moisture occurs is how long it takes for it to disappear. A few minutes is normal. He told me a case wherein a VC driven at night from pangasinan to manila encountered heavy rains along the way also developed moisture on the headlights. On the next day, moisture was still present on the right side. Brought it to the dealer, ascertained the faulty part, evidence was clear, replaced the lights instantly because parts were available at that time.
Regarding warranty claims, it's really the dealer who deals with HARI as sop. The dealer files a report to HARI, when parts arrive, dealer shoulders the costs, charge it to HARI, then HARi claims it from Korea.
It may be prudent to take pictures when moisture occurs in your rides that does not disappear quickly. My suggestion would be to simulate a similar condition by aiming your garden hose at your lights on for 30 mins.
P.S. Hyundai E.Rod Service Dept. 416-3835/36 look for Rannie. (Dont't take my word for it, call him if you have more questions)
