Thorn between accent 1.6 e .and honda jazz v. Any input and suggestion mga master? Mas lamang ako ng konte s accent kc diesel tipid pero jazz is honda padin almost same price lang naman sila
Same here sir, I'm scheduled to get a new car last week of this month and I also have the same dilemma...torn between jazz v cvt and accent HB E A/T variant. Ang nakaka turn off lang sa accent is naka 14" steel rim...di manlang ginawang 15", while jazz V cvt is naka 15" alloy wheel na. The big advantage of accent hatch is ung crdi engine...matulin yet matipid. Sa looks almost same ko sila gusto or mas lamang ng konti accent...but feature wise between this two variants mas lamang konti jazz, my friends keep on telling me din na honda is honda...afaik resale value of honda is still higher than hyundai.
Until now nagiisip pa din ako...should I get the accent hatch or jazz. I really like the accent hatch but TO talaga yung 14" steel rim...need ko pa gumastos ng additional para palitan if ever na ito kukunin ko. Yung totl naman ng accent hatch is way above my budget * 968k...pero nag ask pa din ako sa SA ko sa hyundai na bigyan nya ko magandang deal and computation baka maconsider ko ung totl...or baka pwede iupgrade nalang to alloy wheel ung E variant ng accent then add nalang ako konti.
If di ako makakakuha maganda deal sa totl na variant ng accent and di rin mauupgrade to alloy wheel ung e variant...I might get the honda jazz V variant.
wala din pala abs na yung new accent HB na E variant and wala tilt adjustment yung steering wheel....ano ginawa ng hyundai dtoabs and SW tilt adjustment are standard across all variant na sa ibang competition nitong accent HB. Now the only desirable here is yung crdi engine nalang talaga and looks...and for sure pala yung long time benefit ng diesel engine is makakatipid ka talaga. lalo tuloy ako nagdadalawang isip sa accent HB....but I really like the looks and the crdi...but not sure if it's still worth it sa price

Depends on how you meanth to use it. The diesel engine mas alagain, in the sense that you have to warm up 20 seconds before putting in gear, 1 minute cool down, not recommended ang frequent start, stop & shut off, can't idle more than 5 minutes, importante ang rating ng oil mo. Just take care of it & it returns to you superior fuel economy, torque power to climb up inclines with ease, easy merging power & the thriftiest engine currently, save for hybrids. Hope this helps.
No offense meant but the Accent has gone a long way from being a cheap compact alternative to a vehicle that is highly reliable and has commanded respect on the road. In terms of resale, the crdi accent is now at par with the city and jazz with the same year model. I know this as I am a honda owner too and I am having a hard time realizing the 'high resale' value of my honda despite it being casa maintained and fresh.
In terms of performance and economy, my crdi accent is leaps and bounds ahead of my honda. If you are a high miler like me, i suggest you get the accent because of its economy and power. Dont get me wrong, my honda was very reliable. Never let me down in my 140k kms of driving it. Just be prepared to spend more money on gas.
Bad news para sa Hyundai accent owners. In cebu, a speeding Hyundai sedan carrying 5 people crossed the center barrier and hit a truck coming from the opposite traffic direction. This highway has a speed limit of only 60kph. All 5 people are dead and the car is beyond recognizable. Lack of abs plus steering problems associated with hyundais rack and pinion might have contributed to this tragedy. Check your cars always...
Sir airolynx, actually you have a point regarding the resale value of accent hatch...being a crdi it must hold it's value pretty well than non diesel sedan hyundai cars.
May I ask sir what variant and year model is your accent hatch? yung bago kase na E variant is parang hinubaran ng features from what I read, even ABS wala which I think is important specially with the kind of power the accent hatch have.
I really like the looks and the diesel engine of accent hatch, but naging hesitant ako bigla nung nalaman ko na wala pala ABS and tilting SW adjustment yung E variant ngayon...given na sa honda city and jazz these two are basic features already across all variants....there SW are even telescopic already.
I guess the question nalang for me is...am I willing to sacrifice those features na pwede ko makuha sa city or jazz over sa powerful and cost efficient crdi engine ng accent. Maybe if I can get a good deal from my hyundai SA, I will choose accent hatch...but if they will not give me a good discount and freebies...i think i'll go with the jazz.
Thanks Sir!
I my opinion, having no ABS is not a problem. Our 18year old van does not have any ABS and we did not have any problems with or without it. I do think it boils down to the discipline of how you drive. If you drive like you have a race car more than the speed, I guess you need all the safety features that you can get.
Regarding the SW tilt adjustment, I havent tried adjusting our SW - for the said van. But got used to it though haha. [emoji1]
I got the 'hinubaran' M/T variant as you put it.I got it just this January but I already logged 6000kms and no problem so far. What lured me to the accent is the ever frugal CRDI engine. The absence of tilt and telescopic steering, ABS, and drum rear brakes did not break the deal for me as I have been driving for almost 2 decades on vehicles without those features and thank God, no accidents so far. It does have airbags and a 4-start NCAP rating on crash test so for me that is enough for 'safety'.
Not just to Accent owners, any car running past 60kph and going head on with a truck running the opposite direction will most likely suffer the same fate.
