    Hi to all,

Pls help me on two items for my 2008 GS VGT A/T:

    1) aircon switch not turning on: went to Ceejays car aircon shop in Las Pinas and they said it's the aircon module inside the dashboard; I then went to Hyundai Las Pinas where the defective module was confirmed; estimate expense: P 16,981 for the module and P 2,314 for labor

    2) unbalanced front braking (RH side not working): went to Hyundai Las Pinas in August - they re-surfaced the disks which did not work; I went back to Hyundai which recommended replacement of suspension bushings which I doubted; I then went to Shell gas station about 1 week after to have the brake pads replaced and wheel alignment done which did not work too; went back to Shell which did brake bleeding and confirmed that RH side is not working and they referred me to Hyundai because it's a brake module which controls it; went to Hyundai Las Pinas and they attached computer to the unit and it worked; after 1 month, the unbalanced braking is back; now, Hyundai's recommendation is replacement of the ABS module assembly; estimated expense: P 62,345 for the assembly P 4,500 for labor and P 1,415 for misc materials

Can you recommend an alternative solution without replacing these very expensive modules? Or do you know car repair shops which does repair of these modules at fraction of the cost to replace?

Would appreciate any suggestion. Thanks much.

Try mo itawag sa Goodgear, Sering and Fronte. Most cases, 40% of casa cost ang price nila.

Ask kolang, nalubog ba sa baha GS mo?

I tried Goodgear before with a fuel filter but had to replace with original immediately after because the engine almost died on me uphill on a flyover.
But will try them again with these parts.

Low mileage (53k only) and casa maintained for all PMS. I love how it drives kaya alaga ko. But now I'm a bit disappointed with this Hyundai.
Thinking of selling it once I have these repaired.

after ondoy there were posted in olx shops that repair ecu, bcm and tcm units. i did a casual search in google, lumabas e berima diesel, ramsa electronics, haltech philippines and speedlab. i suggest do more research on these 4 and call them. no need to buy a new module if it can be repaired. sabi nga nga yumao kong tyuhin, "gawa lang ng tao yan kaya pwedeng ayusin. yung gawa ng Diyos lang ang di narerepair."

Thanks for the reply and, yes, I agree with your uncle.

Just think na 9 yrs old na ang GS mo at lumalabas na mga sakit kahit low mileage pa sya.
Actually known din na may mga maaga masira sa GS, from rubbers to electronics and big parts like turbo.

Am comparing it kasi with my previous cars before na walang problema tulad nito and we still have a 2005 Sorento CRDi in tiptop shape but with 105k kms already. Did not replace anything major on the sorento so far.

Alagang casa pala, sang casa madalas yan.

Mahirap talaga parkingan sa Goodgear, kailangan itawag then agahan, madalas andon ako before 7 am.
At that time may mga nakapila narin.

Sorento has good long term reviews sa mga kaibigan ko. Wala daw major nasisira so far.
Starex talagang marami nasisira. Suspension parts, aircon evaporator and leaking ATF hose nasira sa akin.
Another friend had a broken timing chain at 80k kms only.
Another friend had an engine swap, buti na lang under warranty sa standout

I used to have it serviced at Hyundai Pasig then transferred to Hyundai Las Pinas.
Actually, I'm suspecting the same thing as what you said. Parang nasira lang nung pinaservice ko sa kanila a month or two before.

I called Goodgear already. Ino-order daw nila mga parts na yan kasi bihira daw masira and they need the part numbers which Hyundai won't give to me.

We used to have a Hyundai Tucson as company car of my wife. Maraming issues din.

Mahina pala ang parts ng Starex. Sayang, ang ganda pa naman tumakbo. Matulin saka comfortable to drive. It's my favorite actually among our vehicles kasi maski malaki sya ay madaling dalhin.
If ever, this will be my last Hyundai.

Try this site: PartSouq Auto Parts Around the World

On the home page, no need to click on the Hyundai link. Just enter the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) or Chassis/Frame Number of your GS on the blank at the top then click search.

The parts catalog you will see is specific for your GS model. :-)

As far as i know normal braking has nothing to do with ABS. ABS only reacts when there is a tendency for the wheels to lock when braking.

Have you checked whether the brake piston on the “uneven” side is stuck?

Another thing you could do is flush the whole braking system.

well it does because the 4 brake lines going to the 4 calipers all go through the abs module. if the particular valves inside the module to that caliper are malfunctioning then that brake will not work properly.

i suggest you google "abs schematic diagram" so you can see that the abs does indeed control all the brakes even when there is no brake lock involved.

I stand corrected then. Thats why i always say “as far as i know” palagi. [emoji16]

Baka makuha pa sa brake fluid flush. O baka stuck up ang piston. In car troubleshooting i always replace the cheapest first kung hindi obvious ang problema

    What would you suggest?
Should i buy a cheap tire for spare o hanap ako ng second hand na same tire na lang? Sa spare ko lang ilalagay naman.
